This was so great. You so inspired me that I got up from my seat put on my cord free headphones and started knitting while just marching on the spot and got in an unplanned workout while enjoying watching you and Oscar and knitting! Win win all round

It looked like a wonderfully productive and fun outing for you AND Oscar! I noticed too that you were 1 x 1 ribbing using the combination knitting technique. What a difference it made to my own ribbing sections on knit projects! Thanks for encouraging us to try out the technique in one of your videos!

At my age walking and knitting would possibly lead to a fall, a broken hip and a ride to a home and not mine. So while I’m walking I listen to audiobooks. When Knitty Knatty lived in New York City she walked around knitting now she is traveling and knitting while hiking!
Congratulations to anyone who can do both things and remain upright, I tip my hat to you all! 🧶😀

What a great idea! I do always have a small project with me for when I sit down - socks - but I have yet to find out how to knit with one hand while walking. I'm disabled and can only walk with a walking stick. I already have my dog on a belt, so I potentially have one free hand, however, like I said, I haven't yet found out how to knit with one hand! So all you knitting dog walkers, knit while you can, it's a wonderful way to connect with people too! Thank you for this video, Knicole!

Genius!

Amazed by Shetland knitters that knit as they walk. I do have the knitting strap that has a pad with different holes for holding the one needle while you move one. Takes practice. Shetland lace videos are such a great look back at our knitting roots. Those kids ( boys too) learn knitting at school. Knit anywhere. They were so resourceful. You are an inspiration.

I have knitted while walking for many years. Socks are top of my list, but baby hats and cardis for the premature baby unit of the hospital are also great projects. I walk a lot in the dark in the winter but find I can still knit no problem. I count my stitches every fifth round when knitting socks and find a head torch is useful if I make a mistake or drop a stitch.

Ok now it's insane. I like living in the moment with knitting and walking, so keeping them separate gives me greater pleasure to get the most out of both. Also, if I take knitting when I'm on the move through the world, I like the smallish size wrist bag, ( I have a wrist gadget) so I have as little as possible with me. But, I stop to knit, once I get to the destination, or as a passenger to the destination. Good on you for trying something different.

I'll have to give it a try! I actually have two nearby parks with paved walking paths...no excuses! I bought a purse recently...the ones in style now that people are wearing crossbody, but look like fanny bags (back in the day😅). Well, I do prefer a crossbody bag, but not this style. I had planned to give it to my young granddaughter today...but I'll hold onto it for a bit to try as a knitting fanny bag!

I always walk and knit or at least have my knitting in a go bag even for in the house or chasing kids around outdoors. My favorite container to use is any cross body bag that I can hold purse type items if I am out of the house and any random items my kids hand me. Ideally it has an easy open top a sturdy bottom and a least 2 larg pockets to keep things tidy .that way I can drop my whole project in and pick it back out 1000 times. I usually work on socks or hats or granny squares anything smallish that doesn't need a lot of extra bits and pieces. Sweaters with lots of bits on hold, amigurumi with 40 pieces and safety eyes and stuffing are definately out. And I can't knit without looking so simple projects only. I have had my eye on a della q makers canvas rucksack for a loooonnggggg time.

Walking and knitting is not something I'm going to do. Aside from being an utter clutz, likely to trip on my own foot or drop my knitting in something, I like to knit when I'm relaxing (often in front of u toob) or passing time waiting. I also don't want to knit without looking as part of the relaxation for me is to watch what I'm doing and see my stitches as I create them.
If I'm going to be walking I want my head up, eyes on everything around me and focused on my thoughts and what is going on around me.
