    I delayed finishing this video for a long time, and I think it's because I'm a curator at heart. I’m comfortable with having few items, but I prefer those items to be of the best quality possible. That’s why I procrastinated making this video - because it’s about the Dollar Store, known for cheaper quality items! But I decided to move forward with it because not everyone can afford luxury home organizing accessories, and we all value different things and prioritize spending in different ways. So I forced myself to finish this, curating the very best of what the Dollar Store has to offer. This is part 1 of a multi-part series.

      Some people must shop at dollar stores. They have no choice! I also had an organizing business and I NEVER suggested buying 60 bins!!!
      You need bins according to what you are storing. Sort, purge, evaluate what you are keeping then buy the bins. The same for shelving options in storage areas. You came across as very hoity-toity“ not everyone can afford high quality items!” Wow. In my opinion, you should not have posted the video. Plus if you are so high end, why are you on TH-cam?

      @@pattimercer9357 I agree that people need to shop in Dollar Stores, did you not read my comment? I also stated in my video that I’ve used some of the bins in my own projects. I also used some organizing my mom’s pantry. My point is that I dislike wasting money on products that don’t work. I can showcase multiple projects where my team and I have organized basements - and the average is about 72. But I also shared that a Costco bin provides double the storage for $3 more which is better value. Scroll along my friend! I wish you the best life has to offer ❤❤❤ and best of luck with your home organizing business!

      @@pattimercer9357she should not have even posted the video??? Strange comment. She posted it to help others find what is a good quality, lower-priced product. I think you let your own biases color your view of what you think she is doing here. There are different markets for organizing (like everything) and yes, some clients are high end and expect their organizer to give them quality that will last. Why would she use items that she has tested and seen break? There are more ways than just one to do things. Your experience is not everyone else’s.

    Instant subscribe. Finally a view into a store that's available to Canadians. I have a dustprone house (with parrots) so l opt for the lidded storage. I can gather things in categorized groups and l only have to dust lids. I have a few of the clear lidded boxes you showed. I also like the boxes that are about the size of a shoe box but look like marble, or leather, etc. I can set four of them up inside the breakfast trays for a shelf style unit. I AM LOOKING FORWARD here TO DOLLARAMA - Part TWO.

    Thanks for this video, the bins with the lids towards the end of the video I bought just recently, as I'm starting a home based T-shirt printing business and I bought 5 of these to store the T-shirts I bought on sale at Michaels. I originally bought 3 and then went back to get two more and on the second trip, most of these were gone as people seemed to like them. You are correct, not all Dollarama stores have them, so you have to shop around. I also got the 3 pack Iris bins from Costco; however, I had gotten those on sale at the time. I love the bigger ones, but they were expensive and I don't have space in my tiny apartment for them, which is why I went with the smaller one. They fit well on the IKEA bookcase shelves and I like that they stack well. I look forward to viewing the other videos you have on storage solutions and hacks, because in my apartment, space is at a premium and I don't like clutter.

      I have had some of the Dollarama plastic bins that you don't like, for over 5 years. They're not scratched, they're not brittle, and none of them have broken at the handles. The narrow ones fit perfectly inside most fridge doors, and I use one in the freezer to hold ice cubes when I want to make a few trays in advance. I love the bump out because it gives me a place to grab easily with one hand. And that same size is the perfect width for salad dressing flavor packets Jell-O boxes etc

      @@heidibee501 yes, I totally agree to this type of containment. Having said this, I don't decant milk, coffee cream, berries, lunch meat, into their own clear containers. I think my money is better spent on organizing the items that turn less. Don't get me wrong, I love a pretty organized fridge, and I've tried it myself, but I wasted too much time decanting milk over maintaining the other areas of my home.

    I like Dollarama's bins for the most part, but it does drive me squirrely that they are not perfectly rectangle/square. The angled bottoms are annoying and prevent them from fitting snug in against each other if you use them in your pantry or their drawer organizers - Its a small price to pay for them because the home edit ones are crazy expensive.

    • @settleinwithsylvie
      @settleinwithsylvie  2 หลายเดือนก่อน
