I had bought three different sets of AutoWorld drag strips a few years ago. All three had defects. I’ve searched for better, but didn’t find much. Have they improved the quality recently?

Yes, they are powered with batteries. It uses 6 AA batteries.
I've got this set and the auto world return track I'm looking fo4 some funny cars or railcars
I’ve been told all HO cars are compatible with each other. Can I use any brand ho slot car with this track? If so I will definitely make a purchase!
Yes all ho cars can be used on all ho tracks
You may have already received a answer. It depends on the ohms of the slot car motors and the controllers. The newer AFX/Tomy G Plus cars use a can type motor and require a higher ohm rated controller. They can be uncontrollable on non AFX track/controllers.
I have some older Tyco track sets and some of the AW cars are sensitive to the Tyco controllers.

@@lowercentenary If your just drag racing on a straight track then I guess it will be advantage?
The lower the ohms the less resistance the higher ohm's more resistance (water thru a garden hose vs water thru a fire hose).
The trigger becomes too sensitive or power,,, full power comes on too fast or instantaneously rather than gradually thru the trigger sweep.
And vice versa, I never tried a non AFX car (non can type low ohm) with the newer AFX controllers (high ohm).
I am guessing it will be a long trigger sweep before the car begins to move,,, and be real sluggish?
Hey guys and Gals, I got one of these 1/4 mile cars, it seems the dilly that goes into the slot to keep in the track is a bit long for my Tyco Track? and on the curved banks it hangs up some, I thinking it's the dilly I mention or the ladder bars in back
Ohhh have you been able to make some modifications to it to help?
The slot guide may be too long, I trimmed them down to fit Tyco track.

Since this track is battery powered are the cars different. Or can you run your circle track cars on this track if you wanted to?
The cars are not battery powered . the Christmas tree and finishline are. The cars are powered by the transformer he showed at the beginning . So yes any HO scale car will work.
The newer AFX can motor cars may have a issue on AW track sets, they require a higher ohm controller. It may be a benefit on this drag track due to the low ohm controllers. But on other AW race sets they may be uncontrollable.

14 feet is more like a 1: 8 mile drag strip than a quarter mile wich is about 21 feet

Do other bodies fit on the interior?
Some do yes
The Dodge van body (orange with black stripe,) would look awesome on that chassis.
Can you do a video explaining the differences between the AW HO cars? I'm brand new to the hobby, and cannot figure it out for the life of me
