That looks like a Staton-Inc. friction-drive kit you are using. They also make a Lock-n-Load kit by bikeberry. There are likely pros and cons to the use of either, but both seem to work just fine if you have the right bike to add them to. Nice video to watch, no matter which setup you choose to use. I have a Honda CXH 50 to put onto my Nil Russo bike. I had to cut off the rear bike rack, so it really is not the sort of bike to use a rear mounted friction-drive setup unless you intend to do some grinding on it. Putting it all together right now and will use this video as well as the ones from Bikeberry to install and tweek as necessary to finish her off.
You need a 4 stroke one there so much quieter and no mixing gas and you won't smell like exhaust and it seems to be way faster. Mine stock hit 30mph and I put a 2 stroke speed carburetor and better air filter and exhaust muffler and now I can hit 40+ its a good little screamer. Quite screamer lol
@@motorbikesbyjason9083 I had always wondered about that. I have a 48cc 2 stroke on a beach cruiser. I've never rode a 4-stroke, friction drive or otherwise. But anyway the weight of the bicycle and a rider of any size (I'm about 135-140) combined is A LOT more weight than the engine comparatively.
I hate the offset of the motor. I'm going to put it in the center on top with a centrifugal clutch and the friction shaft underneath with sealed bearings. Connect clutch to pulley with belt then the mounting will be a cinch.
I considered that design, but I didn't want to spend a lot of time and money on a diy design that may not work. And the end result would be a tall machine that may be as ugly as the side mount. The Staton works and I can't see it when I'm riding. My bike with all the racks and baskets and a trailer isn't pretty anyway.
There is a quick release lever on the right side. Easy and quick. For me, just the weight of the engine on the tire is the right adjustment. I have the Staton kit and a Lifan 35 cc from Home Depot. Even though I have experience replacing brake and shifter cables, I had trouble making the throttle cable work. 3 hours of experimenting but works well now. If you can't do it a bike repair person can. I had read that friction drives don't work well in the rain, but my experience is they don't work at all even if the street is just wet. Not a big deal. Pulling a 100 pound trailer up a fairly steep hill is no problem without pedaling. I got the smallest Staton roller because I need pulling power more that speed. I mounted a rear rack above the Staton kit easily. Now that I know how useful the power is, when the motor dies I'll know it's worth spending more to get a Honda motor. In Texas, 40 cc is the max to be legal as a bicycle. No paperwork and fees.
Jason, what city and state do you live in? I would like this motor and kit on my beach cruiser which I already owned the bike how much would that be where do you live? Shipping?
I’m getting the 4 stroke flying horse friction engine kit on bikeberry I was thinking of switching the rear tire to a solid rubber tire I found on Amazon so wearing down won’t be as much of an issue do you think that’d be a good idea or is it unnecessary?
bcxaz the magnet went out place a simple adjustment and it was working again. This is why I build and test ride a few miles on each bike so I can make sure everything work perfect when the customer gets the bike.
3 and a half years ago, OK. I had wanted to find out, Just How Unbalanced is this tail-heavy, off balanced son of a bitch? Were you selling lots of this stuff?
TheyCallMeJohnny that's actually pretty good these things can only go for like 20 minutes I like to strap a one gallon gas can to the flat top part of the kits frame
Electric bikes have extremely short range usually 15 to 20 miles then a 3 to 5 hour charge time before you can ride again. With a gas motorized bike you can get 100 to 150 mpg. A quart of gas will get you 35 miles or so then a short 2 minute (not hours recharge time) fill up at a gas station and off you go again. You gotta love it! Oh disengage and you can peddle as well.
Hahaha this guy in this video does not even know what he is talking about. Bro you need to learn before you talk about things. You have a cheapo China motor kit and want to claim its made in USA 😂😂😂
@@motorbikesbyjason9083 Ya and for 550 someone would be better buying somewhere else cause I know you are full of crap. Why can't you just be honest and tell it like it is. Motor made in China and so is the rest of it. Your buying the same kits Gas bike and everyone sells. Real Talk

If u can hear it wanting to start but doesn't is that the spark plug
Very nice! Does it feel off balance with the engine on the side though?
Not at all feels great.

@@motorbikesbyjason9083 also that's awesome to know that the tires last so long!
Where on tire is best position for roller to be in, when locked to drive? Directly on top? or should it be in contact with tire in different location?
What the name of the part on the side where the oil from the ethanol free gas and oil leak from
Link where I CAN BUY!?? Is this better than BIKEBERRY Kits??
Nice video, for a beginner to 4 stroke engines. I suppose it doesnt matter that the gas tank is below the carburetor? Thanks!
It’s a two stroke engine
With the right drive wheel, these babies can hit 60!
The bike would explode
So one with a larger diameter?
Where can u get the longer lock and load bar in the back from
Is this better then a 2 stroke and also a chain drive by like a bike berry
I am also thinking about a Citizen folding bike 20 inch and 16 inch I could store in a large rubbermaid tub
It's funny you say that I've been looking to build one for sometime now
