This is truly atmospheric, hypnotic, mesmerising & scary all rolled into sheer genius from the forgotten man & band that never received anything like the recognition they deserved. RIP Alex you really were as talented as it gets IMO
@@timothywalker1388 Haha, I clicked on this out of curiosity and after a few seconds I thought it could really be something but sadly it turned out to be one of those endless intro things were no actual song ever starts, quite disappointing. There is another underrated talent , Lynden Williams with his bands Jerusalem , Zorbonauts , Deckchair Poets - which are projects from a real unknown supergroup. There is a great tribute to the faith healer too , listen to Zorbonauts - Faith Healer 👍
First heard when I was spending an evening sitting at home with my reel to reel snagging stuff off the FM radio and captured "Faith Healer" on tape. Maybe that same night they played "Fresh Garbage" by Spirti too. FM Radio pre-takeover by the mega stations was the best. Glad that I had that recorder it was worth every penny!
@@carolwolf9614 Unfortunately, those tapes only exist in my memory and I am surprised I even recall that much detail. It was fun taping music on the radio, a lot of people taped their LPs and then could listen to just the recordings and save their LP collection as new, I never did that myself I played my LPs.
Saw them in W.Germany 1974 they were the support band for Deep Purple in Halle Munsterland. Blew me away, first live band I ever saw. Then DP came on😱. Never been the same again.😀
I went to see Jethro Tull on their War Child tour 1975. They had this band I had never heard of opening for them. The Sensational Alex Harvey Band. They came on and blew me away. Now I've got pretty much all of their albums plus some good Live bootlegs. Listen to The Sensational Alex Harvey Band Live album. You won't be disappointed
Yup. I'm 64. I long ago lost count of the number of acts that I've seen live. That has included singers with superb voices such as Ian Gillan and Annie Haslam. It has included singers with bags of charisma and stage presence such as Mick Jagger, Noddy Holder and George Melly. But I've never seen anyone who could just *own* a stage and spellbind an audience to the extent that Alex Harvey could. He is much missed.
Absolutely HYPNOTIC!!! One of my favorite songs of all time!!! Alex Harvey and his gang look like straight from the movie 'The Warriors' - Mesmerizing!!!!! 👏👏👏💯
Saw them at Slough Assembly Halls in mid 70s. One of the great nights of my youth. When I hear this I can still smell the waft if stale beer coming up through the worn parquet flooring.
I saw SAHB many times at The Roxy Theatre back in the late 70's. I was a teen then and I'm 66 today. I look back at their shows with such great memories. One of the all time great live bands.
I was going to name my first born Alex. I decided not to bring children into this world. I had an Alexandrian parakeet and I named him Alex. Great minds.

Great memories ,lived a few doors down from the group when they rented a house in Hornsey London n8 in the early 70,s. Knocked on the door and actually had a chat with Chris glenn and even got him to sign something for me !!!!....
I met Zal a few years ago when Alex was honored at the peoples palace in Glasgow. Had a few drinks with him along with Chris Glen, Ted Mckenna and Alex Harvey jnr in the Clutha bar, Glasgow, not long before the terrible helicopter crash! Zal was telling me he hasn't picked up a guitar in years, I couldn't believe my ears!! Was a fantastic day, I will never forget it. Really nice bloke he was, very down to earth.
Saw these guys half a dozen times in the 1970's (even supporting the Who at Charlton Athletic). The best live stage show bar none and I have seen all the greats. Thank you for this.
Those who know? Know, was in Germany in the 70,s listening to all sorts of awesome music, including these boys, Boston, the who, what great times, we just didn’t know it wouldn’t last forever
I think he was the most charismatic performer I ever saw. The audience was in awe of him. If he'd said let's invade Russia , we be there (though it's a bad idea). Alex, you give people the strength to face the world and say no!

I saw SAHB in the 70s at Exeter University where my mate Sarah and I had managed to inveigle ourselves into the audience by carrying a couple of boxes of singles in for the DJ. The band were truly sensational. Zal was brilliant on the guitar and I still remember number which i recall being called "Rio". Fantastic. Menacing and brilliant.
Alex asked me to play flute for him on a Recording made at a London Studio in the early 70s. The Band was so loud I had to play isolated in something that resembled a Telephone Box, as the Band would have been picked up on the Mike I was using. I have the Track on an MC. It is very low in loudness. Maybe I''ll get a copy made from the MC sometime and see how it sounds with the volume raised.
I remember being in a record shop in Scotland ( early 70's ) thumbing thru albums and hearing this over the shops radio, so I asked about it. Long story short I bought the album and enjoyed it for many years. My only regret is that I never saw them live.

Scotlands best ever rock singer ever and this man is never mentioned ever any were and it's criminal that he isn't.
Alex Harvey and Thin Lizzy were trailblazers for Celtic rock in the late 60s and early 1970s, and rock n' roll in general...
Completely, he was one of a kind that for sure
Are we forgetting Dan McCafferty? Better than Harvey, in my opinion anyway.
I spray canned sahb everywhere I could in the late 70’s
