Snake Eyes is my favourite Joe. I always thout it was cool that the hero ninja was in black and Storm Shadow, the villain ninja, was in all white. It totally messed with my five year old mind but totally awesome because it was unexpected for the time. Awesome video, as always. I love the cadence of you're voice, its so relaxing. It reminds me of Mister Rodgers, and he was my favorite PBS kids show. Nerdmasté.
This is my absolute favorite version of Snake Eyes, I mean version 2 is great, but this is simply awesome!! Great review, and great appearance by Snake Eyes as well!! NERDMASTE!!

At first glance in 82 Snake Eyes reminded me of Capt Starr(is that the right name) from The Black Hole

Dude, I don’t know who voiced Snake Eyes but I am blown away with their talent!
No Snake Eyes is a guy there is no way for them to hide that because later editions of Snake has a lot of defined muscles and clearly defined Adam's apple. in the early comics, we also learn that he is a veteran of Vietnam with Stalker and Storm Shadow seeing his face so again nope they could not hide that, his skin being hidden I can at least understand that but as you said before it doesn't matter all that matters is his abilities and what we as fans imagine being him in G.I. Joe.

My favorite Joe!! Snake was the first Gi Joe figure I bought back in 82 along with Breaker.Such a cool looking figure and being all in black,he really stood out from the others.Next to Star Wars,Gi Joe will always be one of the greatest toy lines ever made!
As you eloquently put it, one of the most “beloved and important” Joe out there was Snake Eyes. He is my favorite Joe and one of my favorite cartoon/comic book characters of all time. Like you mentioned he did his job, was simplistic in nature, and mysterious. Its odd the original figure did not resemble what was in the cartoon series. But I just liked how he look and kind of stood out from the rest of the figures. Thank You for the review, video, and content! Yo Joe!!!

I had the figure as the SAS jeep driver - Stalker from the Action Force line. He had a grey face plate.
I like to think snake eyes was once a cobra agent until switching his side with gi joe because that would have make snake eye and storm shadow rivalry more interesting to me.
That molding on the side of Snake Eyes looks like a butterfly knife. 🦋🔪

still say we should of got a " purple suit " Snake Eyes
I ended up getting a Snake Eyes back in 2010, along with Darth Maul & another Jedi, along with some Viper, that got the sparkler treatment to look like Snake Eyes took them out with a stolen Lightsaber. & I cut a bit in a Coke can with burn marks of course to give it a cool prop, & have Snake & Maul ready for the final fight. The kids got a kick outta of it. lol.
I love version 1 Snake Eyes and Grunt as well! I always thought that a uniform like th 1st fun of joes had would be pretty comfortable, though the collars and cuffs make me think it would almost be a sweat shirt style cloth, which would not be conducive to combat operations (still much more comfortable than my issue BDU’s were). The simplicity of both figures weapons were also a nice touch. I would love to dress up as snake eyes and hand out Halloween candy but I never pull the trigger on a mask in time. Problem is too many people would not know who I was portraying and just think it creepy. My oldest went as scarlet and I went as beach head in 2011, one person thought she was catniss Everdeen. Kid was disappointed no one else knew what joe’s were. Nice video
Looks like a wool “commando”sweater. Wool is burn resistant, odor resistant, and retains some ability to insulate when wet. You could do much worse, especially in the 80’s.

Hi Michael, I'm sure you're aware of this but for anyone who isn't... over here in the UK Snake Eyes was released as Stalker and was a member of the Action Force SAS team and drove the Panther vehicle. He also did get a minor makeover with paint detailing done in grey on his mask and grenade.

Silent Interlude is one the greatest issues ever, #21 for those that want to find it.
