This is an urban myth. Harrison never did any of the major stunts. He did the close ups for what he calls physical acting, he was asked to do. Vic Armstrong filled in for weeks on the Temple of Doom while Harrison had back surgery. Armstrong was not being totally serious in that comment

This apparently isn't the case anymore now that he's become really old; and this is exactly why I didn't like the last two Indiana Jones movies and prefer the original trio. They waited too long to start producing them to where Harrison and the original crew either aged and couldn't do it anymore, or just merely moved onto other things and didn't want much to do with the Indiana Jones series. I believe this same factor was also one of the ways that ruined the new Star Wars movies from the original trio, when they could've made them much better!
His best stunt was accepting disney’s request that he throw his own legacy off a cliff as indiana AND han solo. Decades of adoration from millions of fans ruined in only two movies. Amazing
