ABAP Cloud: CDS Simple Types

This video gives a short introduction on simple types in ABAP Core Data Services (CDS). It explains how you can create and use simple types in ABAP CDS.
This feature is available for the following products:
- SAP BTP, ABAP environment as of 2208
- SAP S/4HANA Cloud as of 2208
- SAP S/4HANA and SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition as of 2022

Why create a simple type when you can directly use and cast the values to abap.numc(6) directly into CDS views?

Assume you use the same field in multiple CDS Views - in this case you can move the field-related annotations (like EnduserText.label etc.) to the simple type and can reuse them in all the views.
