why is this called "distance control"? it is the opposite. if it were good distance, the first hit would be successful. instead this is just flicking and in-fighting after the first failed attempt. the distance calculations in the initial actions are miscalculations.
When released this video, I couldn't think of what to put as the title as there isn't a particular theme connecting the touches (except that the original videomaker liked them) so I dreamt up "DISTANCE CONTROL Foil Fencing Highlights" to put as the title as it's pretty broad.
While not all clips are about "distance control" I wouldn't say the initial actions are "miscalculations", because there is no "good distance". You can do the perfectly right thing and not score the touch. A good distance for you to do a lunge is the perfect distance for your opponent to take a step back and parry. People train at different distances, have similar but different capabilities, and create different timings. For Daniele Garozzo, the messy infighting is his perfectly calculated good timing; For Lei Sheng, the counterattack from Baldini is exactly what he is looking for; And for Baldini, that parry was at the perfect distance to bait out Race's attack. They are well aware of their distances.
With greater power, comes closer distance
That explains why I'm always so far away 😭😭
I can never escape the pain from cyberpunk edgerunners, even fencing videos won’t let me rest in peace
lmao 😂
Was just watching an Edgerunners video before this one and thought TH-cam was messing up or something.
@@dogestranding5047 hahaha
TH-cam algorhythm olways watching 👀
@@OlympicFoil Just a crazy coincidence because I fence too, but I happened to be watching an Edgerunners video with this song right before.
@@dogestranding5047 Haha must have been weird af when the music started playing
Always found this sport to be so entertaining
💪 my man
Not the song I'd expect to see on this type of content but a banger none the less
I tend to go for music without lyrics when I make highlights, it's nice to have someone else's unique approach for a bit of variety though
Look how close Cheung stays at 1:36 😵 OMG
Sweet montage
0:46 how tf is he so calm like bro he isn’t even moving fast
