    Bravo! Very well done and I enjoyed every minute. We sailed on the Grand in the West Caribbean, but we lived in the Azores on the island of Terceira in the mid to late 70's. We visited Porta del Garda with my folks in 1977 when it had only one stop light! They also had no tour buses. We saw all the sights you saw from a rental car. There was absolutely no tourist accommodations to speak of outside of the city. What a thrill to see this. Thank you!

      José Albano Silva there’s no god & in 2018 it’s just ridiculous to still believe a book that was written by people who knew nothing about anything. How can people believe a bloody story full of hilarious contradictions and fairytales?! Enough people have died because of the 3 Arabic religions. Time to wake up!

    You didn't see the very best of it. To all of you thinking about going there note this places:
    - Mosteiros (go there in the summer)
    - Rabo de Peixe (It's a fishing village, there are really poor children in the streets, it's also know for the accent, it has the most ununderstanding accent in the intire Portuguese Language)
    - Furnas (it's above a vulcano, you can cook inside the hot gases and waters and you see the gases going out and stuff like that)
    - Furnas Lagoon (you'll see why) and also Lagoon of Fire
    - Stay a night in Ponta Delgada, go to the Gates of the Sea (Portas do Mar) it's really lively and it will be a nice night because you can eat or drink by the ocean
    - Go to Caldeira Velha, and take a bath there
    - Go to the Ilhéu de Vila Franca, search for it ''Ilheu de vila franca 2014'' it's different now, probably the pics arent updated it's a lot better now
    You will not regret, believe me.
    Search for these places on google, and see their beauty
    And warning: In the summer is much better!

    1st who are the 42 clowns that don’t like this, what’s wrong with you?? Anyway it’s sooo nice not having to listen to loud music or endless narration. It’s really refreshing to hear the natural sounds of the environment. I also love how smooth the video is. Great job. I gotta say I’m seriously jealous of you!!

      Well, that's a big ride :) You have great whale watching companies in all of those Islands. The best way to choose a provider would be looking at this website and looking at the many companies that provide the service:
      www.visitazores.com/en/experience-the-azores/whale
      Each company is different, but we would suggest Picos de Aventura in São Miguel, Talassa in Pico, Norberto Diver in Faial and Ocean Emotion in Terceira. However, all providers can offer a great experience, so that's entirely up to you ;) Please do stop by one of our Hotels or Restaurants to enjoy the local cuisine ;)

    São Miguel Island where I was is a beautiful island. Not sure I would pick these islands as a stand alone destination. But it was a very nice stop on my cruise and I enjoyed my day there very much. There are 8 other islands that I didn't see. I was there in November, so it was too cold for the beach, so I can't comment on those.

    What a beautiful film! It was very well edited and I enjoyed every second of it. We were there on 4th November 2012, just a couple of days before you and I did the same tour - we went to the Antonio Borges gardens first (I was surprised to find the gardens were right in the middle of the town!), then we went to Sete Cidades, then finally we went to the Pineapple Plantation. We didn't have bad weather, it was lovely. In fact I will be back in Ponta Delgada next week, on my way to the Caribbean again, and I'm really looking forward to it :)

    Excellent video... plan to look at your others now. However in this Ponta Delgada clip, you mention a "Jardim Francisco Borges da Silva" park (which park is in Tenerife, Canary island) The park in Ponta Delgada is called "Jardim Antonio Borges" (I know both name differences, and have been to both parks, due to my family having come from the island of Tenerife!)

    to alexander cabral, can you tell me if I could retire over there on $1,700.00 a month? My grandparents were from panta del garda sao Miguel. What do they use for money, what apartments go for, etc. Thank you so much, Caroline Sousa

    • @rrs_13
      @rrs_13 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      On $1,700.00 ( I am assuming USD, so its a bit over 1.300€) you'll almost have trouble spending all your money! Given the minimum wage in Portugal is about 625USD, your budget is perfectly fine. Even if you include a rent or mortgage loan, life isn't as expensive as one would think and that amount seems more than enough.
      Unless you plan to live in a hotel and/or eat out every single meal, you can have a pretty luxurious retirement there.
      Cheers

      I'm afraid I haven't done much for you nor I will be able to. The trickiest part will be getting a settling place, and before that you need to get a visa (I will asume the fact your grandparents were Portuguese ins't enough for you to have multiple citizenship).
      I have no idea how that legal part is done, but maybe start by going to the nearest portuguese embassy and ask about (they are usually helpfull).
      Maybe your best first step would be a visit to check out if you really enjoy the azores and some real estates (so you can understand the figures).
      I'm afraid this is as far as I can help. Best of lucks.
      Cheers

    • @MsMarfox
      @MsMarfox 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Caroline Sousa i can also tell you that the azores is much cheaper than the mainland Portugal, so, with 1,700USD per month you will have absolutely no problem whatsoever... and its not "porta del garda", its Ponta Delgada. Hope i helped you

      @carolinesousa6774 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      thank you so much, I was so happy when I read your note, you don't know how happy I am. I want to go there, what if I moved there and just have my suitcase in hand plus 1,70 in my hand, what do I do, live in a hotel until I find an apartment

    No, I do not think. Where will the people run when the volcano erupts?
    Frequent frequent earthquakes! You may not have a chance to escape.
