- i guess the babvolt theory WAS right after all...
this is the updated version of the true ending, added in the 1.2.1 update (on steam) or the 1.3.0 update (on switch).
the new scene starts at 6:09 and ends at 8:43. there is also an extra post-credits line at 12:55. the rest of the video is just to make it more definitive for people who haven't seen the old version already.

I see... so Gunvolt decides to go back to the beginning of his life in order to muster the courage to let himself be killed by Kirin and save the world. Tragic, but beautiful.
Its more of “buying time”. So, GV becomes a baby so that means his powers will act like how it is as a baby, it’ll be weak and maybe harmless (still probably hurt).
Then as he gets older, his powers gets stronger. When his power gets stronger, it’ll eventually be too much for him to control and thus, lead to the same situation.
They are entrusting Kiren and the others to find the way to solve their problem. It is a tragic that GV is not yet CURED and he has to live his life as a kid, then as an adult (still a kid), and now becoming an actual baby. Where ever GV and Moebius is heading, we dont know.

A way forward.
A ray of hope.
That may now seem like very much, but it's a hell of a lot more then he's had throughout his entire franchise up to this point.
Now, we just have to see how it all turns out.
Fun fact for those who don't know yet:
If you have the GV? Image Pulse (the one that turns Gunvolt into an even cuter puppy version of Dogvolt) equipped for the final battle, you'll see the original version of the true ending, with none of the new additions.
Very weird way of preserving the original content, but hey, secrets are cool to find.
Love this game, but this ending is so much better than what we got originally. (Fun fact, you can technically see what Moebius' intentions are before this ending if you decode the ciphers from his SP Skill and Image Pulses).
This update really helps the ending. Makes the ending a lot more hopeful. But there’s still so many questions remaining, like what the heck happened to Copen?
they just trow away all the main story like the do in avenger ix 2. they just came up like rockman zero and 100 years war that we know nothing, this game wasnt gunvolt, was more like a gunvolt chronicle

GV3 took place many years later. Either Copen is an adult, still a kid through transplantation (as he did in LAiX), or he died (doubt). Most characters from GV2 are already far forgotten and GV is already a older man in a kid body since he cant age.

That's the last we saw Gunvolt the Azure Striker, and we will never see him again. 😔
I see. Moebius want to protect the world and prevent "present gv" from that destruction, which kirin had seal and give him time for his fate. Wonder if they see each other again
I like the clarification but the result is still the same... Im still SALTY AS HELL, my boy really cant get a break. 3 whole games and my boy cant catch a damn break....
Its possible that "Put it off, buy time, and cooperate with everyone to fix the problem", "THIS world's future.....I leave it to you all" , and "It sure would be nice to meet you all again" these two infer that gunvolt is probably leaving the responsibility of saving this world and never seeing them again.
My theory is that with the line "oversurge, azure striker with astral order! reverse our inescapable fate !"
there is a possibility.....that gunvolt will reverse the flow of time or hop to another world to fix that world or timeline. Its further supported by GV voicelines saying he regrets what he did when he dealt with sumeragi. What do you think, Wouldnt this be a perfect sequel ? I would go mad for this.
Be a good reason to perform a hard reboot if nothing else.
I think GV really didn't want to kill some people he against as enemies （like Alice and Asimov）.
So go back in time and live once more, then he can grant his old opponents mercy could be a better ending.

I still believe that gunvolt will return and be able to reunite with his friends and family once again after he is able to prevent the future shown to him by moebius

Hmm i wonder what happened to gv after i watch the walkthroughs about the whole gunvolt but he might been sented to ix universe where he helped copen or maybe i gonna make an au where gunvolt was passed out after he survived but later he was walking to the city alone as he changed his identity and try to live a normal life and pretend that nothing happens

[Warning, spoilers for the entirety of the Azure Striker Gunvolt series, including Luminious Avenger iX below, read it at your own risk of being spoiled of the end of the games' story]
I feel, for GV's fate, the True Ending isn't that too different than the normal ending. The only difference between the normal and the true endings for GV's fate, is normal ending he clearly dies, while in the true ending, I feel his status wherever he's still alive or dead as a person, is unconfirmed. Might I add that with the story writing of the Gunvolt franchise as a whole, that Joule and Lumen got screwed over so much throughout the series? Inti CREATES has not been treating her (them?) kindly in the series, despite pouring real life money to have Lumen as a 3D character for some of her online concerts on their TH-cam channel. Both Lumen and Joule end up pretty much dead in the end, no matter what your choices are done in the series. And in Luminious Avenger iX, I think it takes place in the bad ending timeline of Azure Striker Gunvolt 1, where GV, Joule, and Lumen are all dead, as you see their bodies on the ground towards the end of iX 1, with referring to them as "king and queen", in reference to a certain somebody's offer to make GV and Joule the king and queen of the world being reshaped for Adepts only. Which both obviously refused. Leading to them getting murdered. I feel Gunvolt 3 is the end of the mainline story of Gunvolt as a game series, as I'm getting Megaman Zero 4's ending vibes, concerning the fact of GV's status being the way it is. I wish Lumen and Joule did not get as heavily screwed over in the franchise, but, from what I've seen with their works in the Megaman franchise with what Megaman games Capcom got Inti Creates to make back in the day, their games don't really have everything all happy and cheerful. Even their obscure and heavily underrated game Dragon Marked for Death, is rather dark. I won't spoil it like I did with the Gunvolt series here, but let's just say, that 3 out of the 4 possible endings for the initial 4 playable characters, for Dragon Marked for Death, the protagonist is screwed-over in one way or another.
i would say i don't think this is the end of the mainline story as such as maybe a break, with some spinoffs in-between, before an eventual gunvolt 4. i think the whole reason this game's plot is so weird is because inti's trying to come up with an excuse to continue the series, hence the whole gunvolt turning into a baby thing. i guess only time will tell though
Maybe Gunvolt might still have a chance to see Joule again. Moebius has time and space manipulation, and we now know he bears no ill will toward Gunvolt. Perhaps Gunvolt will learn to harness Moebius's power and bring her back.
I resonate with OP on this one. All this updated ending does is to clarify the reason why GV will not be able to have a peaceful life anyway. Even in a game where nobody dies, he still ends up having to leave everyone behind again amyway. I definitely don't blame the few fans who still feel salty about this update.
Well, GV got reborn as a baby in this new ending... Now, WHEN did he got reborn? We don't know, since it was a mix of Astral Order (heavy reality bending powers) and extreme Azure Striker (basically infinite energy), so you can have a prequel reboot game where GV can either be reborn as the Original Striker or maybe become a new character that would bring a entirely new timeline to the franchise. Either way, we are only going to get bad consequences from this story because of what it already did to the main series' continuity. We will probably never know what Xiao was going to do, who exactly is Copen's maid actually, what happened to Mythil, what happened to Quinn or what happened to GV2 Copen.
Yeah Joule and Lumen seriously got the shaft. Remember how much importance they were given before? Now Joule’s long dead and Lumen’s just a sentient image pulse. I forgot is there even a scene where Gunvolt realizes this?

Ok this sheds light from the previous version. Something tells me this game was rushed to meet the deadline with an empty conclusion, but it feels like BMZ3 in a way with heading to a horizon that no one follows into.

before the update that extended the true ending, some people suggested the animation of gunvolt shrinking into the ball of light was actually meant to be him turning back into a baby again. i didn't believe it but the update ended up proving it to be true

How do I get the true ending, cause I’ve tried only throwing talisman and i doesn’t work
every time you separate Gv from Moebius, attack him using the talismans, don't use the sword, if you use it you will have the bad ending, but if you use the talismans you will get the true ending.

I'm too stupid for this game series' mechanics as to unlock the true ending.
But Inti sure loves their dramatic endings, especially with G.V.
Gunvolt 1 so far still had the nicest ending, things turned darker and darker from here on out.

LA Ix Copen became multiverse traveler naturally over a bad ending in gv1, discovered a weapon from blaster master zero in xi2. meanwhile we dunno wut happen to gv next but my best guess he gonna get access with the multiverse with the dragon. but who knows.
@@RomHunterBlueSilver The issue is Gunvolt can't control his powers. So if he did gain control of his powers and have mental control of his dragon form then he is safe. The reason Gunvolt can't control his electric power is because it's too powerful. Gunvolt can't return to a baby because he's ageless.
I don't care what that ending part said about "first cry once more" we don't even know if it implies to him. We have no gender and why then? Why not the future. Why make him immortal just remove it(or at least instantly)it another game.
Also moebius can't change his DNA. If he could then he would remove the azure striker septima. I highly doubt we'll get a gunvolt 4 because we need lumen for that. I don't think we can explain why Lumen exists again.
