2:06 is when the part you're probably looking for starts
Yep lol
Appreciate you brother
This is the shitt
The mystical and emotionnal background of the first part is the best in this track and is what brought me on this video.
Akshully it's beautiful as whole, but indeed from 2:06 is heavenly
Fucked up how this isnt on the official ost. This is such a good track
It isn't?! Damn...It was one of the reasons I upgraded to deluxe (( It's THE best sound + visual environment I've seen in 90+ hours (I'm close to wrapping up act2), and it's one of the strongest CRPG level designs I've seen in a while.. I remember that at some point I just stopped listening to the track enjoying the view...
My favorite track of the entire game so far
So many things are missing from the OST.
@@nrieh4553I did too.
@@nrieh4553Oh, so you got scammed then. Alright......... I suppose it's not worthit then, to piracy we go
One of the coolest areas of the game
Definitely!
A Lament for the followers of the Dawnfather. It is a hauntingly beautiful song, especially when the strings kick in around 2 min mark.
This entire area of the game is so cool. Like, you're just there to find the creche, but you unexpectedly wind up exploring a hauntingly empty monastery for an hour while this tune plays in the background. The various clues about the Blood of Lathander, the eagles, leftover Guardian of Faith, the foreboding sense of approaching the creche... it's all so perfect.
In my head my Selunite Paladin silently whispered a prayer for them.
I was looking for a word to describe it and lament fits the bill perfectly.
@@BoPeep_42and the haunting bells coming from the monastery itself, even tho, nobody is there to ring em anymore
My first time playing I played as a paladin of Lathander and it was all just too fucking good during this part of the game
The part from 2:06 onwards is also used in The Emperor's vision of his past. Well, a slight variation of it.
Such a great cinematic 🤌
This track gives me goosebumps every single time I explore the area... such a beautiful piece of music.
Yeah exactly
God dayumn, every track on this album is a 1492DR banger

Knowing that some words have multiple meanings depending on the context is one of the earliest things you can learn in the English language.
Keep learning, i’m sure you’ll reach a modicum of linguistic proficiency at some point.
Just when you think "this couldn't possibly get better, the first act is usually the strongest."
Then the game hits you with this.
I mean this is the first act still, and the first act is way stronger than the rest of the game.
@@mooncalf_4534Its not though. This is part of Act 2. Act 1 ends right before going to the mountain pass
@@zelohendricks51 You get the act 2 achievement for entering the shadowlands.
@@mooncalf_4534 Shadowlands/Mountain Pass are Act 2 areas.
@@zelohendricks51 You don't get the achievement for entering act 2 in the Mountain Pass though.
I literally stopped while exploring because this track was so beautiful and dramatic 💔
"In death, new life, always."
That was the saddest part for me
@@sushles what was it about?
@@nickdemidenko5230 If you gather all the items in the monastery and return them to their proper altars, you get access to a special item that will allow you to claim the relic at the bottom of the monastery.
With it is a note:
"To the next Dawnmaster, I don't think we're going to make it, but The Blood is secure. We closed it off with magic. Only one of our own can take it. If anyone else tries, the walls will fall, and they won't get out of here alive. Should that happen, pray for Rosymorn Monastery, but do not mourn - it's for the best. In death, new life, always."
@@nickdemidenko5230 It's letter about next possible Dawn-priest in Rosymourn Monastery, They (Lathanderite) embrace Life and Death as sunset and sunrise, so when you die, you will be reborn in another life, in short, you will be reincarnated. What makes it sad is that the Gith killed everyone, so they essentially failed.
They said in the letter that a powerful relic called the Blood of Lathander was protected, and that they should not be afraid of being killed or invaded for this cause (as far as I remember.)
Damn I wandered around the Monastery so long just to keep hearing this music, its so fucking top notch. Its really one of those perfect themes that just encapsulates adventure.
2:06 is the moment you realize Balduran is a tragic figure and victim but also not really... he died but his memories were uploaded to a soulless husk, a calculatin, manipulative selfish being that cared only about its survival.
I think whether or not mindflayers have souls is debatable, since they are specified to be devoid of *apostolic* souls, and if you die and resurrect as a mindflayer, Wither comments how you still have yours. It’s possible Balduran is still Balduran somewhere in there
The cyclical nature of the chorus was stuck in my head for hours after i was in the monastary. It's like you're stuck in a maze going round and round, such a cool area and music to go together.
I’ve searched every niche of that place for that secret artifact, even solved that four weapons puzzle, finally gave up and moved on. Such a lovely surprise I’ve discovered in the following area… perfect game 11/10
did you solve the rest of the puzzle after that? it's well worth your time
you have to disarm the traps and blow up the energy crystals after the four weapon puzzle. one of them you have to jump down a bit and hit from an angle. the place for the secret chamber is in inquisitors chamber, there are two statues holding suns, one of them has to face the west (sunset) the other has to face the east (sunrise) to open the way.
Not since the best musical moments in World of Warcraft did a game's soundtrack engross me so purely into its particular fantasy world. Bravo, Mr. Slavov.
Thank you for uploading this - I thought my love of the game couldn't be higher and then I explored this area, I frankly never even anticipated this craft and artistry in a CRPG and in some specific ways different from another masterwork like Disco Elysium. The very level design felt like something out of an immersive sim like Dishonored, several levels with unexpected verticality and optional encounters, a vast sidequest that stretches into the following map and this gorgeously melancholy music that seems to crescendo as you look upon old frescoes of a once glorious monastery. Fuck, this game is so good.
What side quest are you referring to? Now I’m scared I missed something lol
laezel's quest@@user-hg1oj4op3z
I'm so happy someone else had such an intense reaction to this place. When I heard the ambient bells, it was over for me... Stunning level.
It also made me think a little about Dishonored level design when walking through the monastery.
my favourite piece in the game and it isn't even on the official ost! rosymorn alone inspired me to play a life cleric of lathander in my co-op playthrough. she's a golden mephistopheles tiefling!
in my first playthrough i played an assassin/gloom stalker (selunite) and headcannoned that she quietly prayed for the followers of the dawnfather
I’ve been a gamer for 30 years and I don’t think I’ve ever been as engrossed by the music in a video game as with Baldur’s Gate 3. It’s like, just when I get to a point where I think “ok that was probably the best theme in the game” I get to another area that’s JUST as good and fits so perfectly. Happened with the nautiloid and goblin camp battle themes, then exploring Rosymorn, a fight with a certain githyanki, and now I just got to the Cursed Lands and the battle theme there is 🔥. Amazing work and I am officially a fan of Slavov.
Totally agree, although I hate to admit my years might be a bit over the top. 🤣I started off with Pong as a kid until my brother and I got an Atari 2600 to put the years into perspective. Skipped the Vic 20 and went straight to the 64 when TSR/AD&D first started with mainstream PC games. Even back then my bro and I could hardly wait for the graphics to improve which I distinctly remember talking about when playing Hillsfar, but never did I ever contemplate story-lines let alone soundtracks, here we are, and I thought the Witcher 3 OST was good. It has been 12 months and I am still listening to this and longing to do another playthrough on top of some 1200hrs. What an amazing game. Hats off to Larian and Borislav.
quite simply the best OST in all of BG3
why isn't this in the OST. like wtf
There's a surprisingly high amount of soundtracks missing from the OST...
Ikr? Most of the ambiance ost are missing which is INFURIATING
this is the song the plays as you explore the monastery that’s what brought me here
It’s the best theme in the whole game, I don’t get it either!
I'm at the place, and hearing the music has me bound determined to find it so I can listen to it when I'm not at the creche. So, here I am.
The Blood is secure.
1:33
That whimsical mournful flute always gets me
Beautiful track for a gorgeous area.
I love the contrast between Rosymorn and Reithwin
When you read the books about what happened, why there's this guardian, with this music in the background, I had tears 😢
I was looking for this song after playing it! I just entered there 10000 times just to listen to it ahah
So amazing
the soundtrack for this specific area didn't have to go so hard LOL
I think it’s very fitting. A beautiful eulogy for the ardent followers of Lathander, buried and forgotten as the sun shines brightly over their once glorious, now crumbling monastery. A tragic tale
Well considering that you were about to vaporize a githyanki base, this fit so well with the cinematic sequence and dramatic countdown to doom.
From the moment that I was walking up the way to see the monastery that this theme approached like a flying flaming hammer against my head I realized that I was playing an absolute artwork
its literally so beautiful i love it so much
This is so damn good.
Why the fuck this isnt on spotify ost
I was exploring that area again today. I'm actually here because I had to exit the game since in a few minutes I'm DMing our own home game haha, but the music slaps so this is what I'm listening to while I'm on D&Đ Beyond and looking through the unhinged encounter I'm about to unleash on my players.
FINALLY I WAS LOOKING FOR THIS FOR WEEKS
Masterpiece
this is hands down one of the best soundtrack in the game. Shame it is used only in this one area.
I am headbanging right now.
it is SO good
Holy fuck this theme is amazing
Invaded and forced to replace
Anyone else notice the motif in this soundtrack that reappears during the encounter with Ansur?
last thing my pc heard before it shat itself and died 😭
I wish they’d add this to the OST. 😔
I'm sorry but I HAVE to laugh because 3:19 is the exact moment the giant sun laser weapon I single-handedly activated by (let's say unintentionally... sure) being stupid, TURNED AND LOCKED IN for the monastery
Hello everyone, please help me find the music that plays when you enter the crypt of the Withers in the first act.
At some point, a duduk starts playing in it, and the key, if I'm not mistaken, is B minor
This theme could pass for a Dark Souls III theme.
A bit too "bright" for ds3
Maybe ds1 or 2
@@timlwryBro dark souls 1 is the darkest of the series
@@Rigby350not really
DS3 takes the cake
@@timlwry Dark souls 1 is a lonely experience, by the end of the game, the only person left at your camp is the fire keeper (if you choose to save her) and even then she doesn't like talking as it's "impure" pretty screwed up if you ask me, meanwhile in DS3; only some npcs die by the end and they're usually just optional paths that you CHOOSE to take
