I finished 95% of my build thanks to your help. I have a few pieces I’d like to install like a metal transmission box, metal drive shafts, higher mounts, and magnetic connectors for my light wiring, but it’s running pretty nicely now. Thanks for your great video and for your help with my questions.
@SmartFool24 sadly mine was a huge disappointment. You have to gut the entire rig if you want real performance. Waste of money, for the price or a few more bucks you can pick up an 18th scale with proper performance
Thanks man! I’m glad you liked it. I mainly make these for myself… kind of my RC diary. I have to frequently refer to these videos to figure out how I did some of it when it comes time for repairs. 🤣🤣
It looks and drives really nice! I did not check all the links, but this was probably a pretty pricey build :) The only thing I would still wish for would be to have some oil in those shocks.
Thank you. It’s my daily driver at the moment. Yes, it was pricey… that’s why it doesn’t have oil shocks 😭😭. The only good oil shocks I know of are the Kyosho brand at $70😳. Do you have any thoughts??
@@Benjamins_RC_Channel if you check Kyosho’s site they have the aluminum shock set for $58. Everywhere else is more expensive. I actually ordered all of my hop ups from Kyosho themselves. Im on the hunt for the die cast front axle now which is unfortunately out of stock on Kyosho’s site
How did u fit 41mm headlight on top pls tell me and there was only one output for lights front and rear but no connection for roof lights. I need to now how u fit that roof light, u did amazing and looks really stock lights.
Thanks! To make it fit, you must fully remove the inner plastic ribs, and then slightly sand the button half. I’m using a different receiver/light unit that has multiple light effect and engine sound. This model is using the WPL RES v3.
That's a great modification! Does the installed (Furitek Folivora brushless power system) work with the same AAA batteries as the genuine ones? "In that case, can I use the transmitter that came with the RTR?"
To elaborate... (sorry, was typing on phone in the earlier response) the Kyosho Mini-Z 4x4s have an ESC/Receiver combo unit. I don't believe the Kyosho ESC/Receiver unit allows the use of an external ESC. Some, like the SCX24 ESC/Receiver combo, will allow you to use an external ESC. The Mini-Z 4x4s also come with a proprietary steering servo that is hard mounted to the battery tray. So, if you upgrade your servo to a standard micro, you must remove the battery tray anyway. IMO, when I get a Mini-Z 4x4, the first thing I do is remove all the stock electronics and replace with a furitek esc, brushless motor, lipo battery, emax servo, WPL RES v3 Receiver.
Yes, check out their website. Also other non-Kyosho parts from companies like Yeah Racing and Nex Racing. I’d recommend getting all your parts from AmainHobby. They carry all the brands I mentioned.
Yes! I use the WPL RES V3 receiver. It has a built in sound unit, light unit, and winch controller. ALL IN ONE! For $20! The transmitter combo is like $47. And it’s a bare bones transmitter with NO frills, but I like it. Having a bare bones transmitter is like driving a real bare bones truck. It’s what I prefer for all my minis. I mainly use it to save space. We all know there isn’t much room in these trucks.
I opened the lightbar and had to cut out the plastic “ribs” on the inside. I then installed and Orlandoo Hunter light bar. I hope this helps. Please feel free to ask other questions.
Sometimes, depending on your setup, the servo may turn the opposite direction when you turn the TX wheel. Some transmitters let you change the direction inside the transmitter settings. The TX I’m using doesn’t have that option, so I have to add a servo reverser to make the servo turn the direction I want
@@masterchief7590 hmmm. I don’t remember struggling. I did take the time to shave down the “ribs” completely. It was a tight fit, but it defiantly fit 😁
@@Benjamins_RC_Channel I got the screws in but the clear part is bowed in the middle because the light bar is too thick. All the tabs are completely removed
@@Benjamins_RC_Channel I got it to fit enough, but now the headlights are super dim with the light bar hooked up, they are normal brightness without the bar. Did you wire them together?
What's up my dude, I've been wondering about the nexx transmission. Does it change the gearing for better torque & 4x4ing or is it just tougher with the metal gears??
I'm in the middle of a nightmare that is now going over a month now. The Furitek Brushless motor and it's red aluminum case is the issue. Other TH-cam videos, show the motor wires coming out the side. Okay, let me try to put it in there with the wires coming out the side. 5 people tried to do it. Can you put the brushless motor with the wires coming out the side. Someobody prove to me that it can be done. They shipped me a new one and I got it today.
