Wow, what iconic footage. Place is packed, Hogan is the biggest household name ever. People forget and want to mention how big movie star Dwayne Johnson draws a crowd, but none of them have people coming out like this.
The Rock has way more exposure and fans than Hulk 😆
@@fendibabii2118 As a movie star, yes. As a wrestler, neither The Rock nor any other wrestler, other than perhaps Andre The Giant, could have pulled a mainstream crowd. And Hulk Hogan was primarily a wrestler, though he acted in some cheesy movies-and I don’t mean the Rocky movie.

No doubt, the Rocky movie, Wrestlemanias, and even a film like “No Holds Barred” gave him a big boost, but he was truly the modern era’s first megawatt wrestling superstar. And no one has come close within their wrestling career and crossover appeal, except the Rock.

Social media has ruined so much in America, it has made people so lazy and people have lost their interest in so many of the things people did before cell phones,
Hogan's fame as a wrestler at the time was quite pure.
No social media, and there has been no sustained huge success for him in Hollywood.
I was then in a remote village in the desert of the Arabian Peninsula. The village elders were gathering around the television. And they cheer Hulk Hogan like crazy. No internet. No live broadcast. But stardom created by freestyle wrestling and the charisma of Hulk Hogan.
And when they thought that his time had passed. Hogan is back as Hollywood Hulk Hogan and has changed the history of wrestling.. again.
And when they tried to cover his glory through young wrestlers. HOGAN back again to WWE and let the world see how big the rock and austin fans are in the wrestling world compared to Hogan. he has completely crushed their presence in the halls. as happened in the scenario of his rivalry with The Rock. Which was supposed to be an insult to Hogan (as in the shows before WrestleMania 18): "You're gone, Hogan, and I'm your replacement for stardom". And when it's time for the WM. The world saw who was truly immortal.
This mixture of the '80s and '90s, Hulk Hogan, the rise of the wrestling world, and its accompanying stories will never be repeated.
Everything that happened after that to Hogan will not erase this history that is as clear as the sun in the middle of the day.

@@dantegood2195 On the contrary, I love social media, and I consider the Internet one of the greatest aesthetics of this time, and like you, I am surprised by those who attack it. But I mean that the social media shortened the path to fame, before that it was not that easy.

@@mrhand.j3bs Its strange, though. Social media helps people to achieve fame...but also LIMITS it. It helps to create, and sustain, so many more celebrities nowadays compared to yesteryear. But, because there's so many, not everyone can keep up lol. Bad Bunny is a great example. World famous rapper, sure, but when he wrestled in WWE most fans didnt know him. You practically gotta be Kim Kardashian-level celebrity for everyone to know who you are. Otherwise only your niche knows you (i.e. rap fans and Bad Bunny). Not saying social media made him famous, though. Perhaps a better example is some huge 'influencer', who most dont know about outside their niche.

My dad and I met him around 2005 in Tampa at hulk's daughters concert. My dad and I were there for Charlie Daniels. We got to meet hulk, great dude, my dad towered over him. I always looked at my dad as hulk Hogan. Rip Dad I love you

He already lost the title to the ultimate warrior by this point...Wrestlemania 6 took place on April 1st 1990 and this was July 1990,and he seems more like he was ready to be done with this day than unhappy.....he was just returning to wrestling after 2.5 months off,so he was probably more like "Oh God here we go with this insanity again"

No matter where he goes, Hulk Hogan will always draw a crowd. I'll take him over Dwayne (the sock) Johnson any day. Especially nowadays. When Hogan does great things for people, you never hear about it. When Dwayne Johnson does something, he has a film crew film the whole thing and then release's it to public so he can show everyone what he did. Anyway this truly is the best unknown Hulkster footage I've ever seen. Thank you so much for sharing.👍👍

In his peak he was 6'7. I read he beame 3 inches shorter in the reason of wrestling, doing leg drops through all years of his career and 10 back surgeries

Hulk has strong New England roots. I believe his parents were from NH. I remember going to the Old Garden & seeing Hulk live for the first time. Was the highlight of my then 7 year old life.
Wow great story, I met him in May 2002, at the then World's Gym, grand opening in Tewksbury, it was crazy, the line, I must have been waiting for like 5 or 6 hours, almost gave up, but I didnt. it was a freezing cold rain and sleet, horrible weather day, the worst, will never forget that.
He also had a first cousin who lived in Worcester and was a teacher at Bankroft High
NH is where HHH is from. I wonder if he met Hulk's folks lol.

Even just like 5 years later it'd have been difficult, given that a lot of fans were already online. And certainly by the end of the decade. But in 1990? Nobody but dirt sheet readers knew anything!
