I also received one for review. My thoughts are similar to you. I love mine and still use it all to time. In conjunction with my TILT hydrometer and brewfather, the fact that it isn't terribly programmable is not an issue for me as I have direct control over it where ever I am in the world (so long as I have internet access). Just got the 308 non WiFi version to control my kegerator temperature. Its is east to set up and works great. I was about to buy a new fridge as I could not keep the kegs at the correct temperature. a quick read of the instructions, plug in and problem solved. Cost me £30
Getting the inkbird was a good decision for me. I use it with a heating belt to slowly bring up the temp of a carboy. Before having the inkbird, I accidentally left the heating belt on too long and wrecked a batch. Now everything is awesome!
I recently got the non-wifi programmable version from InkBird to replace an old STC1000. So far, it works perfectly and will be ideal for those times I need to go away for a few days. Set, ramp and then crash chill, all without my being there. Cheers
I have this it's really handy to control from my phone. I seen inkbird have brought out a similar programmable controller but I think I'll wait until a wifi version comes out. Which im sure it will
As I knew of a probe that had to be replaced after doing just that. If me trying it would have showed another result it wouldn't have proven anything. So my recommendation would still stand to not do it. But everyone is, of course, free to do what they want. Is was more of a recommendation from my side as I've heard of the problem. Maybe I didn't express that clear enough. Cheers!

I've got two of the Wifi ones and two normal ones. Only problem is they can't handle the wattage of my buffalo boiler so I can only use it on my HLT.
