    It's great to see someone put a downrigger on a sailboat. i have the same idea, and am looking at the MacGregor 26 as my next boat purchase. Great job. It would be great to see more videos of your macgregor upgrades as you continue to improve.

      Will do, working on a weighted dagger which should take some of the heel out of the boat and improve the sailing performance. Also going to install hot water for the sink.

      @@boatbitch1 How does that shelf hold when the down rigger is in use? It looks like it would flex a lot.

    Nice upgrades ! I’m intrigued with your water system. You mentioned using water fire extinguishers 🧯! Quite ingenious, no water pump !! Where are they stowed ? Can you show more on this ?

    Where did you buy the pullout shelve for the silverware? I want one too

      Got the bamboo divider from the container store. Buy under counter track and mount the track onto the divider them mount it under the table. I am building a second drawer. Be sure to measure the table before ordering the track.

    how do the curtains stick with the magnets?

    • @boatbitch1
      @boatbitch1  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      make the curtains first with super magnets (note use stainless needles to sew) then place the magnet of the curtain in the spot you want it .to get the magnet behind the fiberglass wall, apply adhesive to the attractant side of a super magnet and use a coat hanger to get the super magnet behind the fiberglass wall. when you get close the super magnet of the curtain the super magnet behind the fiberglass wall will jump to the right spot and the adhesive will hold it there. I used JB weld.

      Super magnets sew into the curtain material. Hard part was gluing the super magnet behind the inner liner. I used a metal coat hanger to get the magnet near the spot and used J B weld on the magnet to glue it in place on the back side. When the super magnet gets near the curtain magnet it jumps off the coat hanger to the back wall. Let the glue harden and its always there.

    Charlie, I am guessing you remove the solar panel when trailering?

    • @boatbitch1
      @boatbitch1  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is correct, only two thumb screws hold it to the boom catch and the telescoping brackets at the bottom

    • @boatbitch1
      @boatbitch1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct, I switched to a flexible panel with more wattage. Its light and easy to move.

    Hey Charlie just came across your vid. Nice mods. I like the fender holder and the solar panel is great. Check out our mod vid if you haven't. I've heard great things about the composting head and think if we ever get another boat we would give that a try .

      great thing about the composting head is that you can take it with you.

      I have been as far north as Campbell river, What sort of water system do you use?

    • @sailingthefreelife
      @sailingthefreelife 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have a flexible tank located under the v berth. Can't remember the brand but might be plasitmo.

      Then your using a water pump also, nice but I went with well pressure tank sort of system which charges the system with air pressure, when i fill the tank. No pump needed. no sound of a pump, just running water. I also went with inch and a half drain. Standard drain system tends to clog.
