YES, he has said that he is a Celine Dion and a Michael Jackson fan. In fact, he did a tribute to MJ that you can find on youtube :-) And I must say that anyone who is NOT impressed with Dimash, must sadly be deaf.
The more you watch, the more versatile you'll see he is. You're already a Dear. You underwent quite a transformation in S.O.S. You're right that he changes the performance a bit every time he sings the songs. Watching different versions is fine, but I'd try to cover more of his different songs in loosely chronological order so you'll see how he is growing.

I don't know if you already know or not but Dimash isn't just a fan of Michael Jackson , even though Dimash was classically trained since the age of 5 to be just like his mother an Opera singer , his love for Michael Jackson was the reason he turned down the chance to be a member of the third biggest Opera house in the world the Astana Opera so that he can mix his operatic style with the style of his Idol MJ the pop style .
And you can see that in a lot of his songs the pop and the opera together for first time .

Sorry for giving you the lie! It's not quite "the first time" in the world! In my country, Romania, Cezar Ouatu (countertenor, like Dimash, classically trained at Conservatory from Milano), performed a dub-step-pop-opera song in 2013, at Eurovision ("It's my life" - link down-below), and then he recorded, in a studio, a cover of "Cinema Paradiso" by Enio Morricone (also a link down-below). Of course, Cezar doesn't have a six-octave range like Dimash, but he has a very versatile voice.

Versatile? Oh yeah! You ain't seen nothing yet!! That's not an exaggeration! And Being a dear is just something you feel and not a label someone gives you. You don't earn it. You are a Dear when you love his music and you appreciate him. I'm not gonna hedge. I flat out love him. So if you feel you are a Dear, then you are one! And yes please please do more Dimash. You are a joy to watch. First song was in French and this one was in Russian. The 3rd song from the Singer completion is in English (mind you he doesn't speak English) and the 4th is in Chinese (and he doesn't speak Chinese either). This was 3 years ago. He became an overnight sensation in China from this comp and now has fans all over the world. He's done a ton of performances in China, Russia, and many concerts including one in London and one in New York. You have a lot to see yet. Keep going!!

Funny you should say that he looks like an anime character! He just announced yesterday that he is launching a new project... a series of Manga books featuring guess who? Yep, it will be called Dimash D’R’S (a play on the word Dears maybe?). Yet another birthday present for his Dears. Melody Thanks for adding Pavarotti. I like Michael Jackson’s music and he’s a brilliant songwriter. It’s difficult to compare them as they and their music are different in so many ways. For me Dimash has the best voice ever and I don’t get cravings for MJ every day like I do Dimash!😍
@@vivienmc5983 I completely agree about Dimash himself. As to MJ - it's of course a matter of personal taste. I appreciate all the other names on Dimash's list and love listening to them (some more and some less) and in any case understand why they are considered great, but MJ is the only one who frankly bores me. Even when he was at his peak and I was a young girl I never understood why others are crazy about him - he left me completely indifferent.

Esa noche que Dimash cantó esa canción en el concurso, el padre de Dimash fue especialmente a China para ver su perfomance, pero Dimash no sabía que su padre estaba ahí... su padre no quería poner nervioso a Dimash antes de que cante Opera 2... luego de terminar la canción Dimash agradeció al público, a los músicos y cuando miró hacia el costado vio a su padre, se sorprendió y sonrió, luego bajó del escenario y fue a abrazar a su padre... eso fue muy emocionante... lo se por que vi todos los shows del concurso de China 2017... eso lo puede ver cualquiera por que los shows están completos en youtube... ayer fue su cumpleaños múmero 26... estuve como loca escribiéndole en el vivo que hizo en youtube... en Kazajistán eran las 22 horas, pero en Argentina eran las 13 horas... así que estuve viéndolo en vivo y diciéndole cuanto lo amo... amo a Dimash con todo mi corazón!

Most Kazakhs are bilingual, they speak Kazakh and Russian. This is Vitas' song but Dimash did it better and isn't legally allowed to perform it anymore. Somebody obviously wasn't happy about being showed up. Great reaction as always, keep it up!
P.S: staccato is his breakfast, he loves to do it all the time, he performed Diva Dance and he does that Queen of the Night staccato as a warm up. Plus his mom is an opera singer so that's where he gets it from

I don't know what happened exactly with Vitas forbidding Dimash singing his songs, but I think it's unfair how much hate he receives because of that. Thing is that Opera 2 is Vitas' song and he has the copyright and this was his most profitable song. Dimashi's manager should've asked for permission or buy allowance to perform it.
@@Gretaly I totally agree, not Dimash's fault at all. My apologies for being salty towards Vitas. I think someone said that anyone can sing Vitas songs in China without permission needed but I'm not sure.i just gave the gist of the situation.
I had read one commenter some time back who said Lionel Ritchie enjoyed the performance of "Hello" by Dimash. Whether D can continue to sing THAT song probably depends on whether he has licensed rights to perform it (under something like a license from ASCAP) or if he just had a single-use permission from Lionel's "company." Copyright law (under which such things fall) varies a bit from country to country but there are some international agreements as well. In any case, it's too bad we haven't heard Dimash do this or Opera 2 in other settings. The reason probably has something to do with the nature of licensing/permissions but I'd hate to have such things limit him. Also, I don't know to what extent the writer of a song can actually keep others from performing it. That would be discriminatory and clearly illegal under equal-access statutes. There have been efforts in recent years, for instance, to keep certain politicians from using songs in campaigns, but because the songs were available under license, all that could be said was, "Hey! We don't like your politics so stop using our song." No legal weight behind such a thing, though.
And, given that Vitas he has released a new version of “Opera 2” in which he tries to outdo Dimash, who knows? In any case, the folks at Hunan TV, who are quick to slap TH-cam reactors with copyright violations, are themselves guilty of the same crime. You see, in the US (and this would apply to any songs under license to groups like ASCAP), it is the venue, not the performing artist, who must secure the right to using someone else's songs in a performance. So, when Dimash did Opera 2, Hunan was responsible for getting the rights. This happened again when Dimash participated in the medley of Queen hits on Singer last year. Hunan was notified by Sony (who holds the rights to Queen's music) that they were in violation of international protocols (though how much importance the Chinese attach to this is in doubt; they are notorious for disobeying property rights). You can read this article for more about that: www.sixthtone.com/news/1003809/hunan-tv-show-accused-of-illegally-airing-queen-songs I don't know why, unless it's part of an agreed-upon punishment from ASCAP (who re-signed with Ritchie in 2016) and its Russian counterpart RAO, that Dimash no longer sings Hello and Opera 2. The license holders might have veto power of some sort. I imagine there's been an uptick in people watching the originals of Hello and Opera 2 and for that, the artists would be grateful!

I recommend you "Ogni Pietra" on this one if you close your eyes you would think there are two singers on stage. Igor Krutoy the pianist ( the bald man, actually a really famous pianist ) composed this "master piece" just for Dimash because of his range. Meaning you will only hear it from him....as for now, I don't think there is another singer with such talent.!! 🌹Dimash Di-Master 🎶❤🎶

Dears love Dimash and in return, Dimash is a fan of his Dears. I once heard him say in an interview that his fans' affection makes him feel at home whenever he is abroad. Dimash spent one full hour livestreaming on his birthday yesterday, answering his fans' questions. Interestingly, he confirmed sometimes watching reactions to his work but finds it a bit difficult to do because he always wants everything to be perfect. So he just may be watching you Barry! When asked about advice on how to become a singer to other aspiring artists, he responded to study, study, study and work at it all the time. That is another reason why Dimash is so respected by his fans, not only because of his obvious gift, but by knowing that he as worked at it with daily discipline for 2 decades already and continues to this day. I know that Dimash will bring a new musical color to your life. I will be following you on the ride because that is what Dears do, they want to share their enjoyment of Dimash's talent with others.
