  • The joys of having a diversion on a bus route. It added quite a bit of time to my trip and an unexpected walk when needing to double back. It isn't ideal when you basically only know the area on the route.

I moved to Aberdeen about a month ago after living in Brighton and London for a year each. The costs are reduced which is good. However, there's an irreconcilable sense of hostility in the air that does not let go of me! I cannot connect with the place as I was connecting with Brighton. Maybe it's just me, but I'm sure something's wrong here

@@rza.baqrnia I've been here since last July and haven't really had much of an issue. Even conversations at the bus stop seem to come. I'm not sure what I can suggest

@@scottg2754 maybe because you look more handsome and western 😁. I also have not had any particular issues so far. It's just the general feeling of the city (for me). Looking forward to next year with another new city and new experience ✌

@@rza.baqrnia I do understand moving around. I spent 14 years in China and I definitely qualify as average, at best, but there are other things too...and most of the time I get left alone, which is basically fine for me. Thank you for the compliment, but it is difficult to accept.

@@scottg2754 Well, I'm just noticing the differences and trying to raise my point. I might sound a bit condemnatory but it's not my intention. Here is like everywhere else, has its own pros and cons. Expectations and personal preferences vary with everyone and it's totally fine to dislike a city entirely or some aspects of it. It's a broad topic to discuss... Thank you and good luck.

@@rza.baqrnia Every place has good and bad points. Being down on a place isn't something that I feel, but I understand how that can happen. I only mention one place that I've lived because I ALWAYS stood out there. Coming back to Scotland was where everything began for me...even being an immigrant child to Canada still started here. One month, while somewhat short, is enough time to start getiing a feel for a place. I do hope things turn around and begin to improve for you.
