You always knew that even if he got burned, it was simply because the other player was a world beater. I remember many games where he’s shut down Connor McDavid simply by being on the ice. He’s a really good stay at home defensemen and I’m happy you guys love him

Biggest difference I hope to see from Keefe to Berube is that Berube will empower all of his players outside of just the core four. Allow them to have important roles that are clear and put them in important situations in the game. No more Team A and Team B. Something Keefe was not able to do.

All the “bubble” teams did the play in rounds and the losers were then added into the lottery after a play in team won the top pick. So they had to do a separate lottery for the losing teams to see who got 1st. The Rangers rebuild to contention window gets vastly overblown though. Fox forced his way to NY, Panarin wanted to go NY as well, and they got extremely lucky with the lottery (moved up 4 spots in 2019 for Kakko, won the weird two-part lottery in 2020 for Lafreinere). Most teams would kick start their contention window if two premiere players only wanted to sign there and had all the luck in the world with the draft lol
They for sure rigged that draft seeing that place holder card get 1st overall was a joke rangers were far from bottom of the league, they just wanted to hype up who was going to get the place holder pick
