tl;dr: no updates, which lead to an outdated-looking website. Its community was made up of kids, many of which were only visiting the site as guests, which also led to a lack of an active community. To be honest with you, I think that Sploder could be revived. But it needs a few things: a) *A more modern design:* no, I don't mean unnecessary material design, just a good looking redesign. It can look almost the same for all I care, that would be better for the community anyway. Just make it look newer. b) *Better creators:* first and foremost, they should all be ported to HTML5. Otherwise, they should do what Newgrounds did an make an external SFW player. Either way though, the existing makers should become more customizable, 'cause let's be honest, every maker except from the physics creator is just a level designer. Sploder should offer creators were you can make sprites but also (at least basic) 3D models. On top of that, _optional_ programming language support wouldn't hurt. Some professionals might like it. c) *More frequent updates:* Sploder should be releasing updates more frequently, at least once every 6 months. On top of that, I would personally recommend frequent contests which are not automatic. Instead, unique contests with great website rewards, such as points, getting featured in the front-page, earning badges etc. Basically, updates and contests with rewards that can spice things up. d) *More mobile support:* They've already done this and they can definitely expand it. It's a pretty good idea and a very plausible one. e) *Trying to appeal to all demographics:* It shouldn't be for kids necessarily. It can be for everyone. Sure, they can attract schools if they want, but they should make it clear that people of any age can enjoy the platform. At its current state, Sploder feels like a time portal that is slowly dying due to lack of support. Although it can be revived into something like a more innocent Newgrounds.

Aw man, the thought of Sploder being taken down is such a benign idea. I can't bear to think of it. Sploder was the engine that introduced me to game creation, and, even though I _do_ know how to use things like Unity, it will never be the same as what Sploder did for so many people. Great video. I love the transition at 1:50

For a little while, we will be able to access our games, whether it be on the site or through archival, however all comments and accounts can no longer be accessed. This is the end for us.

It's a shame what happened and is happening to Sploder. I wish the site could be saved, I really do, but with Geoff's seeming disinterest or lack of knowledge on how to do so, and the low maintainence, I'm afraid Sploder is doomed to become nothing but a time capsule of what was once a great outlet and community for young creators... and not a very long lasting time capsule either, what, with the imminent, oncoming termination of Flash Player right around the corner, and all. I'll always remember what Sploder did for me; It helped spiral me into the creative world and introduced me to some the best friends I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. So I'm eternally grateful for that. Whatever happens in the future with the site, whether it is that final nail in the coffin or the grand rebirth it deserves, it will surely forever stick out in my memory as something that helped shape me and many others.

Hello, it is so sad to see that the site is down. I started creating games on sploder on 2010 and was very active for 4 years (2010-2014).
