Five years later I'm wanting to make a decoupage pumpkin after seeing one in the 2018 Halloween Michael's collection. Yours is beautiful and I appreciate your showing different options, as well.
You're welcome! I have a facebook page called upcycle with decoupage that you can post on too if you ever want to share you pictures. I love seeing them. Patti
Greg, I would LOVE to see that. I have a Facebook page called Upcycle with Decoupage, if you want, you can post pictures on the page. It's a friendly group, a lot of people post on there and we all get ideas and inspiration from each other. I think you're on to a very good idea! Thanks, Patti
Great idea, but the way you did it you lost the print register. For me it’s a mess because the print is no longer cohesive, hence the use of ribbons. I worry about the bottoms, how can you angle them? Checked out.
Thank you again for the great tutorial. There seems to be a white glaze over your pumpkin. Is that supposed to happen or is it the light causing a shadow?
I have a 2nd Grade Class of 10 kids at my church. Next wednesday we have a Fall Festival. Each class decorates a Pumpkin, only 30 minutes time to do it. (it will be Judged to see which class wins) I was thinking of them Decoupaging Fall Colored Tissue Paper, or Napkin Pieces to the Pumpkin. Would using a Hair Blow Dryer to help it dry fast and the White Decoupage to dry clear help? Or is there decoupage that goes on clear? Anything ideas on how to get this done witing 1/2 hour. Doesn't really have to be dry, just want it clear to show the colors or design from the napkin. I can carry it to the Judging table on a board or plate so the sticky glue won't be touched. Just need the clear look showing the colors. Thank You
Hi L Kay- a blow dryer will definitely help speed up the process but so will using napkin decoupage glue, you can buy it here or read about it-amzn.to/2dYtM3Q and using napkins will make it go that much faster. If you're allowed to - you can even cut out your images first-here's my most recent video showing how to do that and...if you can find white pumpkins in the craft stores (or through the link that I sent you above) you won't have to paint them. Just decoupage and decorate. Here's the newest video. th-cam.com/video/g187A9W3MVI/w-d-xo.html Hope this helps. :) Patti
I'll see what I can come up with Vickie! I can't wait to see the picture of your pumpkin. I love fabric but can't sew. There are so many pretty fabric patters out there I had to find a way to use them! :) Patti
+Carol Clouser sorry Carol, I use Liquitex Matte varnish which you find on my website but you can also find it in craft stores in the art department. I prefered the matte finish but you may like the satin or high gloss. :) Patti
When you cut the wrinkles that you have in it to make it lay flat turn your turn your top piece over the bottom piece when you cut that little slit in the side of the fabric that way it'll be down when people look down they they won't see the top of that snip no matter how much glue you put on it you're still going to see it that would drive me crazy I'm A sower I'm just saying I think it would look a lot better for you I think you would even like it better
