Death Trap Polo GTI 9n3 - Track Day Prep 2

Serious issue found on my 9n3 Polo GTI while carrying out some more trackday preparation.

Thanks for all the tutorials on the Polo GTI, I recently picked one up here in New Zealand and am very stoked!
Did you have to fix/replace many items during your ownership time?

Thank you for watching! Awesome, what colour and spec have you got? Only a few parts that needed fixing, the main thing is to keep on top of maintenance, replacing parts as soon as they are needed. Highly recommend changing your gearbox oil as well, as that’s something that doesn’t usually get done but can help the life of your gearbox, which on these is a weak component.

I noticed this with my Porsche 986 adapters! What adapters were on yours that caused you problems? Did you find a set that seemed to work better for fitting pads and didn’t bind the back of the discs? Thanks

I had Darkside Developments adaptors which caused these issues but I now have Vagbremtechnik adaptors which you can fit brand new pads perfect without binding 👌🏻

It is very strange, I think the offset on them just a few mm off which causes new pads on the inner edge to bind, bad design really!
Yeah that’s right, they should be linked, that’s the ones I have now fitted, pads slipped straight in and work perfect! Where are you based? If local, happy for you to test fit one of my new adaptors to see if that helps before buying 👌🏻

@@harryflannery1 based down in Hampshire mate appreciate that offer, thanks! If you think the new adapters have solved the issue I might just take my chances and get some as it may save my disc’s and pads as they haven’t been on for long! Have you used the brake lines that come with the vagbremtechnik kit aswell? Are they a straight fit from the Porsche callipers to our hard-lines on the polo?

@@fouristv 100% fixed my issue! I had brand new discs and pads, and swapped the adaptors which fixed it. If you give Vagbremtechnic a call and say you just want the adaptors and the matching bolts, they will see them without the hoses 👌🏻
