That's actually watering down the Punjabi language and making it sound closer to Hindustani (Urdu/Hindi). Real Punjabi is always raw and desi which people call "paindu" to ridicule it

But I'm glad atleast they are singing in Punjabi as the saying says, half a loaf of bread is better than nothing. And another thing I'm sure even these singers won't be speaking Punjabi at home or in daily life. We need to start speaking in Punjabi too not just listen and sing songs. One who speaks and teaches his/her kids is only true to his mother tongue

its also the sign of have my memories with you but in our pakistan culture whenever is going we do say like " good bye " but we give dua if we don't have something , otherwise we just give something which for him should be needy , like traveling you need food so sometimes we give food with dua . and sometimes we give clothes , so the scarf is obviously the last sign of his memory to give her so she can be warm in cold winter . like its simple that am giving you something which will make your travel easy and protected .
