Years ago, James said that the song was inspired by the late 70’s/early 80’s movie with Anthony Hopkins called “Magic”.
The film portrayed Hopkins as a ventriloquist and the lines between his personality and his dummy’s personality were becoming blurred.
I especially loved Steph’s more succinct take in it, though! 🍻
