    I have this cabin and am doing the install myself, I'm not a spark, but your video gave me the confidence, I particularly like the idea of routing the black conduit outside and just having the pattresses showing on the inside. I have bought 2. 5 mm Twin and Earth and was going to install it as a ring main but take note of trying to force 2.5 twice through a 20mm conduit so I may upgrade to 25mm conduit if needs be. Great job and given me some excellent tips. Hope the cold is better, it's been 2 years so it should be.👍

      Glad I could be of some help, depending what your running, I’d suggest only using a 20Amp radial to try and save the heartache of 2 x twin and earths. However it is doable with 2 you just have to take the time to feed them In straight with no twists

      Thank you mate. Most people do pick white conduit, however I personally prefer black myself with the wood, only when it meets a white box/socket then it would look a bit silly. Black sockets and boxes are a bit hard to come by.

    Hey mate great work. one question, if you used a 40amp mcb from the consumer unit, why did you use 100amp mains fuse for the summer house?

    • @Cablesmith
      @Cablesmith  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks mate. So the 100A main switch is just that, a switch. It’s not a fuse and will never trip.
      It’s just rated at 100A as that’s what it can safely handle before probably melting. So, in this case, the maximum it will ever carry would be 40A, as that would be the point the supplying MCB would trip.
      Hope this makes sense, and thanks for watching.

    Could you advice if I can run a power cable from outdoor socket to a summer house without placing the cable underground as we have porcelain slabs all the way?
    Basically looking to run the cable in a protective ducting along an external wall then along the ground at the back of my shed then into the summer house?

    • @Cablesmith
