The King of Limbs live comes close
I can't forget that day I was sad depressed and self disgusted I just didn't had the courage to end myself so listened to this song the whole day it was raining like sky wanted a piece of earth that day.
That was 4 years ago and I'm alive.
This song makes me connect to my inner reality and that's the beauty of radiohead's music it makes you feel so vulnerable and yet you feel something so powerful and ethereal.
I feel what you mean and in 2010 I attempted suicide...I never told a soul what I was planning and feeling. I'm alive still and have no regrets but this album is just the tip of the iceberg of my life.
@@BluBeauti_salene79 if that's the tip then I guess there's a world of precious and priceless neath the iceberg
That was so beautiful.
i hope you're doing okay these days
@@maybehost thanks so much,
I'm doing well
Just tryin to hit the bottom and escape. 😊
Ed Obrien's contribution to the live version of this song is subtle but crucial to it's massive emotional weight. Masterful on those guitar pedals.
So true
when you see them live it is impossible to overstate how much he contributes to the band - so many of the little touches and flourishes that take their songs from great to transcendent come from him
I feel like non-music playing Radiohead fans really don't understand his contributions to the songs and the Radiohead sound in general. EOB is a texturizer, a sound artist who uses his pedals and effects like an artist uses paintbrushes and colors
It's Not about playing AN instrument, it's about having eyes@@ggthewhale
@@Chalobah17 what
No band gives me that Radiohead feeling... This music is beyond words
You can google the lyrics tho.

The best closing to a album.
I think 'The Tourist' is a pretty strong competitor
Definitely
Street spirit
True Love Waits
Separator and Motion Picture Soundtrack are pretty strong, too
Everyone have a good day except the one guy who disliked the video
He got his mate to dislike it too
They probably need a good day the most.
They’re probably the only ones having a good day
If you're listening to this song, you're definitely not having a good day.
@@mrstranger3691unfortunately I can't say this is incorrect
I listened to this song on replay after getting home from my brothers funeral. I can’t stop
Crying when I hear it.
😭😭😭😭 my condolences andrea…..
@@pauljulian3937 it’s been a year now officially. It’s so hard to hear this song even after a year. Hearing damage is another heart wrenching song that reminds me of him 💔
sending hugs your way ♥️
@@andreanavarro9871sending so much love your way ❤
I want to hear this in my final moments of life
I want to hear this in heaven. Peace.
This literally better play at my funeral. I’ll actually cover it beforehand and ask people to play it.
X 2
I love the camera angle of Jonny at 2:10 - he could be doing meal prep for all we know.
thank u for this comment
also here to give my thanks
Also giving my thanks to you for raising awareness about this very important point
he’s cooking
Probably cutting up that lemon from Reckoner
Bonnaroo is an anthem and the album version is amazing, but I reckon this is the definitive version of this song. 10/10.
There is another 'from the basement' - version, where Thom plays solo. I think it's amazing, too
This is, in my opinion, the best ever "sad-indie" song ever written. It breaks my heart every time I listen to it. Truly a masterpiece.
When I'm at the pearly gates
This'll be on my videotape, my videotape
Mephistopheles is just beneath
And he's reaching up to grab me
This is one for the good days
And I have it all here
In red, blue, green
Red, blue, green
You are my centre
When I spin away
Out of control on videotape
On videotape
On videotape
On videotape
On videotape
This is my way of saying goodbye
'Cause I can't do it face to face
I'm talking to you before
No matter what happens now
You shouldn't be afraid
Because I know today has been
The most perfect day I've ever seen
Legend
Merci beaucoup
Honestly. Radiohead are the greatest band ever. No one makes music like this.
Ed O Brien creates beautiful soundscape. His guitar playing is so incredibly unique and interesting.
I'm very high right now and listening to videotape, I guess I'm not in the wrong place.
Same here
yesterday i woke up sucking a lemon
Love the smile on Thom's face at the end when the music is really hitting him.
videotape is thoms favourite track of the album
I listened this song when my mom die, today I dream with her, I miss her every days
stay strong
Didn't think this song could get any better.
I really like the mephisto mix, search for it on yt.
@@TheGamesdefender alright, I'll do that now.
U bet
It could. But only if Bieber was part of it. They should really do a collaboration.
can a song really be that beutiful?
Ed o brien with absolute magic at 3:48 onwards
imagine he does that to a girl

..."You are my centre when I spin away out of control on videotape..."
I can't explain how much I love this song. It pierces my soul! 😭 🖤🖤🖤
This is the definitive version of this song. Not bonaroo, not the studio version, this one.
Incredible song, incredible version. This band is just able to release powerful songs on their 7th as they had the energy of their apogee. AMSP does great job also, too bad there wasn't any From the basement for it
I cry every time
This is one of the most haunting songs of all-time.
Ed Obrien really perfected his guitar part on the first half of this song, as is evident on the live from Prague video.
Recently dicosvered In Rainbows. Don't know why it's taken me nearly 20 years to listen to it
1:30 ED ACTIVATES
These From The Basement sessions are absolutely spectacular (and without a doubt my favourite Radiohead album), but Videotape in particular is just... immaculate. I haven't listened to these songs in many years and now I find myself returning to them over and over. I've changed a lot in this time, but these songs haven't and that gives me a beautiful perspective. I just love them. I love music.
This version is way better than the original studio
When you listen to Radiohead you think sometimes it's being played you and you only, the most important ever, been on the amazing journey from their beggining
Great story!
Pure perfection. Everyone understood the assignment. So beautiful to listen to, and creates a trance-like state. This is probably my 2nd favorite song by radiohead after "how to disappear completely." I love this song so much.
I love how you can hear the syncopation in this more than the album version it just make it that much better
everytime i listen this song it make me cry
When you have that distinct feeling that tells you you’re in the presence of greatness.
As with life, it becomes more beautiful when ones discovers the hidden beat.
So difficult to catch tho 🥵
This is what I want playing on my journey in the afterlife.
What I wouldn't give to go back the the very moment I played this album the first time...😢 I thought I was lost then...I had everything.
what you wouldntt. your limbs or organs for ex.
We're all lost in one way or another ❤
Happy 15 anniversary to the Radiohead In Rainbows album! It’s a fantastic album!📻
What an incredible rhythm. That too. The truth.
this song was on my suicide mixtape. i survived both times (kinda - i actually died for a few minutes and was revived) but god it makes me cringe so hard now. my stupid ass ruined this beautiful song forever
glad you’re still here buddy :)
It's a beautiful song but you are more important and I hope you're doing okay.
wich other songs are in that mixtape?
If anything it brought more meaning to your life. You're just not at the end of your videotape
One of my favorites. Best Band ever.
I don't know if there is such a thing as a perfect song, but if there is, this performance has to be in the conversation.
3:06 love the fact that rachel hidden by the stuff is listening to their music, especially the voice of his thom
Such a beautiful song and performance
You make us proud Radiohead- awesome- beautiful ever-sincerely
This song like a dream sound
When he sings “goodbye” .
MASTERPIECE! I absolutely love this song
Absolutely astonishing👌🎶💯💜🙏❤️Radiohead has always been the band that evokes so much ethereal beauty and brings a huge amount of emotional depth to their music. A standout track on an absolutely stellar album from a band I’ve been blown away by since the early nineties.(Their music has always been amazing-every album truly brilliant-the astounding progression they make as you listen through their catalogue is utterly mind blowing) Love this performance by Radiohead, and this From The Basement series as well-each band and featured are awesome, with brilliant production and great musical performances! Much appreciated 💜🙏❤️
I thought I saw Jeff Buckley in the thumbnail for a split second. Gorgeous performance, can't tell how many times I've seen this already.
Thom looks nothing like Jeff
He wasn't alive when they did this
Radiohead have credited Jeff as a part of their influences in the past. I can hear Jeff as well
I would have loved to hear Jeff Buckley cover this
Takes me back to the first time i heard this. I played it on repeat. I haven't listened to videotape in years. Still gives me the shivers
amazing,This is easily the most beautiful Radiohead song. don't get me wrong, every Radiohead song is amazing and beautiful, But every time I watch this I cry. A that shows how much heart and soul was put into this performance.
Another good one is Rabbit in your headlights… that one always makes me cry.
Talk about taking a very good song to the absolute next level.....this is as good of a live band performance as you will ever find. What a treat.
Excellentissime..
363.000 views? Esto debería tener 36.000.000, que gran banda, que gran tema, que gran frontman, canciones que te destruyen pero te hacen feliz al mismo tiempo 😢
This song is amazing live
my heart.... my heart....
Im not crying you are
You have no idea how hard this is to play for Thom, pat your head, rub your belly whist reciting your 9x table and then we can begin
The lyrics were inspired by a wonderful Japanese film called After Life.
I would pay to watch a livestream with this vibe
Fucking beautiful
