From a legal standpoint, the only people who don't have to work on Christmas are federal employees. Also, the whole holiday pay is a lie too. Your employer doesn't have to pay you extra just because you worked on a holiday. So, if you didn't believe in or celebrate Christmas and you owned a business, you could force your employees to work that day without paying them holiday pay.
I used to always worked the 25th with no holiday pay. Welcome to retail. Fastest way to grow resentment of Christmas because you’re forced to work for all of zero customers while everyone else gets to be home with their families. I’m not Christian but honestly outside of hospitals/emergency services and gas stations, I do not know why this country hasn’t made it a mandate for all other businesses to be closed for the 25th.
I met a guy in the grocery store paring to who said “HAPPY ALL THE DAYS!” He got attitude from people when he said Merry Christmas, he got attitude when he said happy holidays, he said. But it was deeper than that. He had been in a car accident and nearly died. He’d been in a coma for 9 months and was told he’d never walk or even work again when he woke. He was doing both when I met him. He was so grateful for his life and his joy working at a grocery store retrieving carts was apparent. I honestly feel like meeting him on that day in that moment was a gift from God. It was a message I needed to hear.
Never thought I'd live long enough to ever see this happen in America. Even before I truly believed, I never mocked or made fun of Christian's. If people spoke of God, I didn't disrespect them. I listened to what they said to me. The generation today have no morals and believe we don't need them. We can see what happens to a society without it
Yea it's pretty gross. I was a devout Christian from about 13-18, kinda fell off after that, been an atheist since I was about 30. But I've never had a problem with Christians or Christianity, just not for me. I find myself defending Christians more often than not, I'm nothing like the anti theist far left whackos, and I want nothing to do with them.
We have lost respect. We have lost civility. We can no longer disagree and work together. If we disagree, we must fight. On everything. We are a lost people.
Wait you do realise Christmas is Catholic? And they just changed the name of the Pagan Holiday. To Christmas. You know Pagans who would sacrifice animals, adults and kids. Bring a tree in to your house is pagan. And many other things. So do you like witchcraft and such? Why celebrate Christmas? We don’t know the exact date Jesus was born.
Why should be forbidden to mock religious people? It's really funny what Christians, Muslims, Buddhists and followers of numerous sects and cults believe. And Christmas is especially funny with all that consumerist nonsense. The way Christmas is celebrated in the USA has nothing to do with religion, it's pathetic nonsense.I am not anti-Christmass, its just genuinely funny how idiotic is all that.
@@Desdichado-vs8ls I think it depends on the area and person. There's a group of tribes that get together in Alaska for what's called the World Eskimo Indian Olympics. But I can't speak for anyone from that culture considering I'm not from it, just lived in proximity for a few years.

Real talk though: feelings don't get anything done. They SUPPORT a decision but you don't get anything done by wishing it into existence. Disney isn't real and nothing is free in life.
@Sghehsgf Alright. Couple things to unpack here: 1.)Big bang/evolution: You're saying everything came from nothing? It doesn't make sense. I would ask why these theories are convincing to you but we would just be here all day 2.)Homosexuality: a. It's been stated 3 times that such an act is an abomination in the eyes of God. Plus, it is the rebellion of what God designed. Man has repeatedly spit on the rules like children refusing to go to bed at 1am. b. Even if homosexuals DID believe in Jesus, do you think that repeating the same sin over and over is proving that you're in the right place with God? Our salvation can be lost by continuing to practice sin. TL,DR: Man has continuously looked for answers using their own understanding. Same thing with wanting to do whatever they please. @@relaxway9178I think what he means is they celebrate the secular part of Christmas with tacky sweaters, a Christmas tree, and other traditions that have come about that people pick up living in America.
I am Jewish and have no problem saying “Merry Christmas”. It’s a joyful time for most Christians and a good time for family gatherings. What’s wrong with celebrating Christmas? I just hope you all had a wonderful holiday
Saying “Happy Holidays” was never, is not, nor ever should be a synonym or replacement for “Merry Christmas” but has always been an inclusive term that encompasses several several holidays between December and January such as Christmas (Western Christian-December 25), Faux-Christmas/Happy Holidays Christmas (Secular Capitalist Neo-Liberal Materialistic Consumerist tradition), Christmas (Eastern Christian-January 7), Hanukkah (Jewish/Ashkenazi Jewish), Yuletide (Northern/Western European Germanic Paganism), Kwanza (Secular African-American tradition), and New Years (Secular-Gregorian Calendar). ”Happy Holidays” is an inclusive term for all of these instead of a term used to erase Christmas as fundamentalists atheists (New Atheists) and some fringe sections of the Left want to do. I legit support the term “Happy Holidays” when used appropriately because I don’t want consumerist and materialistic ideologies or American Civil Religionists (Christian Nationalists) to co-opt the real Christmas which is a Christian religious holiday nor do I want non-Christians to be coerced into saying “Merry Christmas,” especially in secular settings. People don’t go around saying Happy Holidays in replacing the the holiday name of Hanukkah, so why should people replace the name Christmas with the generic “Holiday”. If people want to be fair, say Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah, or replace both with Happy Holidays. What’s with all of these Predominantly White Countries in the Western World always trying to replace names of holidays. But Westerners (Americans/Europeans) don’t say Happy Holidays during Eid al-Fitir a Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan) but say Happy Holidays when it comes to Christmas (a Christian holiday), I rather people stay silent than have Faux-Woke/Fake-Woke Whites & Western Greedy Capitalists co-opt a religious holiday scrap all the religious significance and replace the name in order to sell products to broad range clientele, they could have picked some other more secular holiday to do this but, greed doesn’t care which holiday they appropriate. I wish Westerns can just say the actual names of holidays rather than change the name when they want, if they don’t celebrate Christmas they don’t have to celebrate it or even worse don’t have to secularize and co-opt it for marketing purposes like it’s done in the West now. What I’m saying is that in some places where they have holiday signs: the signs say “Happy Holidays and Happy Hanukkah” only, instead of saying “Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanza, and Happy New Year” in other world the mention the other holidays and ignore Christmas by replacing the name with Happy Holidays. This in no way is ment to push Christmas on other people, but I do believe that if they’re going to mention the names of all the other holidays they should equally do as well for Christmas.

A similar argument holds for the chronological timeline being referred to as "BCE/CE" instead of "BC/AD." The terminology may have changed but the point of reference is the same. So whether one says "Happy Holidays" or "Merry Christmas," the point of reference is still the same.
Every time I hear some acedemic say "BCE", I cringe so hard. Have some self respect... or yeah add that E on there like you're 'up to date' on a lazy BS cultural coverup. What an embarassment for education and acedemia. Like they've never read anything older than 1990.
When I was an American living in Japan.. I fully respected their culture and traditions of their people. I didn’t try to narcissistically deconstruct to allow for all cultures to be represented equally. I realized that this is their country. This is the will of the majority of their people. And I appreciated their culture and understood that different countries will have different customs and culture. Even if they don’t represent my American culture. I would even respect if they decided to make less signs with English subtitles. I would adapt and acquiesce and just enjoy the American culture with my family and friends. A strong nation is one that has a unified culture and purpose and tenants. All nations have very dark and seedy pasts in their development. But it’s far more important to take a positive spin and enjoy and appreciate the blessings we have now. It’s not that hard. And so long as the government isn’t enacting real violence and promoting an authoritarian regime of suppression of freedoms, we should be humble and grateful for what we have.
How joyless and miserable does one have to be to intentionally have a terrible time at Christmas? On the off chance that these people have friends, what do they even spend their time doing? Do they just sit in a circle and hate things together?

The problem is, she was right. She said it totally obnoxiously, but she was right about how conquering nations came in & took elements of peoples lives, weaved it into Christianity, & then had them worship that. That is why Christmas is celebrated in December. It’s because of the Winter Solstice/Yule, which represents the birth of the Sun God. So they just changed it to represent the birth of Jesus, & there you go. With Yule you had Christmas Trees, Yule Log, the colors red & green. And from the Roman holiday Saturnalia they got the 12 Days of Christmas because that festival was celebrated for 12 Days. Most everything you celebrate came from us “pagan” people. My point is, rather than let little things like this upset us, why not respect their choice of words, especially when saying happy Christmas violate a fundamental tenet of their faith. Ramadan is not a celebration for Muslims. it's a month that Muslim fast the entire 28 - 30 days depending on when the moon is sighted. Just as you have January, February, etc. Ramadan is one of the months in Islamic calendar, and fasting has been prescribed for Muslim in the month of Ramadan.
It literally is though, what about Christmas has anything to do with Jesus? Just say you're celebrating family and presents, not that hard. Jesus was not born on December 25th, and very many pagan traditions were destroyed by Christianity, including some holidays.
@@ghristophermyers666hristmas is about Christ’s birth. We celebrate with a 40 day fast and then a feast on Christmas. Trees and gifts are just cultural traditions, they’re not the focus. @@ghristophermyers666 The date of Christ's birth is irrelevant. We celebrate the feast day at this time to celebrate him bringing light to the world. He is the Light of the World. That's always what I thought as well. The holidays are so close together, and before Thanksgiving it makes even more sense since there are 3 holidays within 2 months.

When I worked at a corporate owned jewelry store employees were mandated to say "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" to avoid offending anyone and this was over a decade ago before all the woke crap. We did have some customers who got very upset and yelled at employees, myself included, for saying "Happy Holidays", usually little old ladies. Some would hold up the line to lecture us about it! I really don't miss working retail, especially working it during the holiday season.
@@taniabriscoe6493 Saying “Happy Holidays” was never, is not, nor ever should be a synonym or replacement for “Merry Christmas” but has always been an inclusive term that encompasses several several holidays between December and January such as Christmas (Western Christian-December 25), Faux-Christmas/Happy Holidays Christmas (Secular Capitalist Neo-Liberal Materialistic Consumerist tradition), Christmas (Eastern Christian-January 7), Hanukkah (Jewish/Ashkenazi Jewish), Yuletide (Northern/Western European Germanic Paganism), Kwanza (Secular African-American tradition), and New Years (Secular-Gregorian Calendar).
Their stereotype of having crazy eyes and unhealthy need for attention is ever present. Anyway, I say Merry Christmas simply because I don't see anything wrong with wishing someone to have a great time while specifying the exact holiday I'm referring to. Other people greet us with whatever holidays they're celebrating even if we don't exactly celebrate them but most of us don't even make an issue out of it. At least we can appreciate that someone is hoping that we'll have a good time.
So funny! The three days before Christmas, I had to work. Including Christmas Eve. And I joyfully said, MERRY CHRISTMAS, to all my customers. And not one got offended. A few replied, "happy holidays," but the VAST majority replied with, "Merry Christmas" in return. 🎄✨🎄

@@xseal6. You spelled fantastic wrong.
That's a stupid idea, and you're stupid for saying it.

There’s this set of circumstances you’re tied to. It’s in the foundation of this universe. Pay attention, there is no coincidence. God exists. The Bible is truth.
We all see these clips in reality. Where we know we’re being talked to. By the universe. We explain it away for our own sanity. What we want, and the things we must do to obtain them, verses what we learn God wants. It’s hard to get those two on the same level. But the shock of knowing what we must give up causes so many to avoid digging deeper. There are reasons why. Poison exists on a spiritual level, sin taints our immortal souls. It isn’t that we’re bad. It’s that Satan attached a curse to actions we take, claiming us as him. Like a drowning man tying himself to your ankles.
God offers the knife to free yourself. Grace is a free gift God wants to give us all. It removes that stain of sin on our souls by forgiving the mistakes we made in ignorance. It’s just that God has a nature he cannot control. As our loving father he cannot give to one without another. He has to give us our own free will, one and all if anyone. Sin is something that takes many forms, and we all fall short of the glory of God. Being perfect isn’t the point. It’s about forgiveness. God can’t blanket forgive sins just because he knows our life’s circumstances. That’s forgive the devil too, considering he was an angel and only sinned one. Again, God can’t do for one child without the other. We have far more sins by count. He’s responsible for all the evil on earth, but it is the humanity that carried out his will.

It all starts at the heart, at home, with our family.

Clement of Alexandria, who wrote 193-215 AD, in his work entitled “Stromata” writes:
“From the birth of Christ, therefore, to the death of Commodus are, in all, 194 years, 1 month, 13 days. And there are those who have determined not only the year of our Savior’s genesis, but even the day, which they say took place in the twenty-eighth year of Augustus on the 25th of Pachon…”
Christ’s genesis, or conception on the 25th of Pachon was in what our calendar would equate with March 25th. The celebration of Christ’s birth would be nine months later: December 25th, in our calendar.

The problem is, she was right.
Easter is our Spring Equinox & is about fertility, that’s where Easter eggs & Re-birth/resurrection come from.

I just nod and say have a good day 😂
Their stereotype of having crazy eyes and unhealthy need for attention is ever present.
🤣🤣🤣🤣i can't stop laughing! And i am in a coffee shop...no one wants to sit near me!🤣🤣🤣
Although I don't agree on Christmas, as a Muslim, but I will Respect Christians' holidays.
Agreed, I have no problem with holidays people celebrate, I hope they enjoy them thoroughly and I find them interesting.
Thank you for respecting America's celebration of Jesus Christ, Savior of the world 🌎 🙏 ❤️
Jesus loves you
Cool. But the respect doesn't go both ways. Islam is an oppressive and violent faith that encourages people to live in a misguided manner
Ummm thank you so much. Im a big fan of Ramadan
So funny! The three days before Christmas, I had to work. Including Christmas Eve. And I joyfully said, MERRY CHRISTMAS, to all my customers. And not one got offended. A few replied, "happy holidays," but the VAST majority replied with, "Merry Christmas" in return. 🎄✨🎄
Do you really think Jesus will endorse a manmade Holy Day?
Hint: it did NOT work out for Israel when they tried it!
@@qw2ps4 it doesn't matter what day we're choosing to celebrate the birth of our Savior. It's a joyous, momentous occasion.
@@qw2ps4 You mean, will Jesus be offended and angry over a holiday meant to be happy, endorse family and friend relationships, and show joy towards others and God?
Hmm... Let me think...
haha.
Well, Have A Wonderful, Happy New Year
@@qw2ps4 to quote The Man Himself:
"To Caesar what is of Caesar's, and to God what is God's."
Or so.
@@qw2ps4 it's not manmade. Christians always celebrated Jesus's holy Birth. The Bible supports celebrations
You know what? I don't think people yell at her at all about Christmas. I simply do not believe her. I've been out and about and I've heard Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Before they made such a big deal out of it, I used to say Happy Holidays on occasion because - why not?
bruh, her liar status was exposed when she said she celebrates yule. like, gurl no you dont 😂
There are many holidays, but we only use "Happy Holidays" in place of Merry Christmas. Why is Christmas so offensive?
I don’t believe her either. Happy holidays INCLUDES Christmas. So why would anyone be upset over that? Idc what anyone says to me, even if it’s happy Hanukkah. They’re taking time to wish me a good holiday, whichever I celebrate.
@@dan-lr4zm I don’t think that’s true. It covers all holidays around this time of year. People also say happy holidays in place of happy Hanukkah or Kwanzaa. If anything, you rarely ever see/hear about those holidays.
@@dan-lr4zm Because they said it was. (Social Justice Warriors) Well, Holidays stands for Holy Days. And they really do want to take Christ out of Christmas.
That first lady actually gave me a headache
