Hello!! "Surfer motion" is a way to communicate between reff, to talk about the status of the players. The circle movement is to say is clean. Also the safe sign u say is ok. About penalty.. For minor, u have to up one arm. For major, two arms For gross, two arms and cross The movement of two arms up and down, is to communicate to the player that you are out for penalty of your team mate. You can check that and more in the rules, or just asking to a reff, we dont eat players hahaha for now..
@@themarvel779 Got first seed in prelims but when it came to the quarterfinals the ref kinda fucked us by giving the other team a the point in a 1v1. The other team hit the buzzer but unfortunately stepped out of bounds, thus being called out according to the rules. However, the refs just gave them the point ending our chance at 1st or 2nd. At that point we were so bummed we just boched 3rd and came out fourth. Such a disappointment but I'm ready to get that well deserved 1st come march.
Can you make a video on moving up the field? When is the right time, opportunity etc. I feel like I’m overly aggressive and put myself in a bad position too far up the field, getting thirsty for kills and hero plays. When I try to tone it back I feel like I’m just wasting time lol I guess I’m just playing off instinct so any technical knowledge you can give on this topic would be appreciated
I think I took the advice too hard of the whole “wrap and go” thing lol. I end up past the 50 with 4 guns on me like damn it where were these guys when I moved all the way across the field and they didn’t shoot at me haha
I think it depends. If you are winning by a couple points be smart not aggresive. If you are loosing its obviusly ok to be aggresive. But if you are not moving with your team you'll probably end up alone to far up the field, alone. And probably get bunkered. So remember players that are alive , can play dead players complain or blame the reffs.
It’s hard to say exactly when to move. What’s the game time remaining? Are you practicing a certain play? Who are you playing against? And more questions! Haha! Being patient in paintball is something that all those questions will apply to as well. Sorry there isn’t just one answer!
Right! Like it’s “all good” basically. I feel like penalties also depend on the ref haha there are some that are more lenient and others that are strict.
Hey Greg thanks for all the awesome content, I have two questions, When a ref signals a penalty how does he know which other player to pull, is it the player closes to the guy who made the penalty? how does that work And I see you wear glasses, do you play with them on or do you use contacts? Thanks man
Usually it’s whatever player is closest to the penalty or whoever they see first. As for the glasses I don’t wear them when I play. I’m near sighted but can see everything well enough when playing. 👍
This will be good when I start playing tournaments. My field started a factory program that I'm going to go for when I'm able to play again when work settles down
2 things 1 its important to remember the reff call is final. Never argue never talk after you are called eliminated. Dont make it hard on your team. If there is something you want to talk about , your captain or coach will handle it with the head reff. 2 the grass allways looks awesome 😂
Another great vid! one potential question: could you please go over some of the paintball etiquette and some of the unwritten rules of paintball? Thanks!
was playing last week and i got a shrug didint know if i was hit or spatter even asked for a paintcheck and ref did nothing what should i have done in that situation ?
That’s tough. If the ref isn’t going to check and you can’t check completely maybe just keep playing. Some refs don’t do their job right and that can be difficult but also expected at divisional fields.
@@howtoplaypaintball ya he kinda shrugged at me was weird im d4 was playing v d3 d2 and unrankeds as well so maybe just a new ref lol thanks for getting back to me

Good luck!
How’d it go?

Surfer motion is for "checks" when a player runs to bunker. Playing on is a minor unless they eliminated another player, then its a major.

always wondered what those refs were saying thx for the info HTPP!
Glad it helped!

Yea yelling at the ref will never help haha!

I’d have to think about that one! That’s a good idea though!
