Oh man, that Predator ESC "beep, beep, beep" twists my guts- ever since hearing it come from my FMS PA18, 40ft up in a tree! A gusty Tstorm brought her down 4 days later. But she's all beat up. Unbelievably, the Smart G2 4s 2200mAh pack, that was in there the entire time, came BACK TO LIFE! I still can't believe it. Great batteries. I'm waiting for a replacement aileron servo from FMS and touching up the dings and dents (i learned to repair right here on BPRC😊) while i wait. If that plane hadn't come down this weekend, I'd have burned your links up getting this FMS Maule, for sure. Sweet flier and what a looker, too! Guess I'll have to wait for Xmas, now. Maybe my wife won't notice if i tack it on to the NX8 order 👍
Glad you got her back from the tree - bumps and bruises are usually fixable, but an annoying BEEP from the tree is like a"mocking bird" - LOL LOL LOL ;)
Hi brian , Thanks for your content :) I am back in the Hobby After ~18 years. Bought the Carbon Cub S2 and the NX10 after viewing your tutorials which are soooo helpful for me as a returnees. Just made some ground handling with the S2 which is so nice after my time with gasoline Planes decades ago :))) Thanks a lot :) Greetings from Germany, Dany
I'm new to flying but I really enjoy watching you, before I get a new plane i always watch your videos on that plane and you always help me set up my Transmitter for each plane. Thank you for helping us new guys and keeping us up with all the new stuff. I guess now I got to add this plane to my fleet lol
Oh man- you have two of those? NOW I’m envious! (And the Crabapple is a FOAM MAGNET!) And come to think of it, doesn’t Megan ever say “Too many planes”? LOL
We moved a few down to make room for our in-laws, watching the kids while we head down to AL for BIGFOOT, but then it hit me...there is NO MORE ROOM! I'll have to move out to the back yard - LOL (I know you GET IT)
I think the TIMBER(s) is(are) sometimes just TOO easy to fly - I know, I'm crazy, but seriously, this is a THING... The Maule makes you work for it a bit more, so some will HATE this.
Have the Red E flight version , great flying plane. It also has a lot better fit and finish than others. seems to drain a 4s battery faster than other 4s planes which isn't that bad.
After recently flying over the Colorado Rockies in a real Maule M7, I want to get into flying RC, would this plane make a good trainer and be suitable for head-tracking FPV?
The Maule is not a terrible choice for a beginner...BUT there are EASIER choices. While she flies great, I would suggest something that's a bit less demanding on the sticks... Here's our Beginner Planes ( www.brianphillipsrc.com/beginnerplanes ), but if you wish to have one now, and just make sure you get one, for when you're ready, here's the link... bprc.me/FMS_Maule + bprc.me/AR620 If you're getting into this for the FPV tracking, keep in mind, it's not as easy to see out of a model as you might imagine, so if you do it, mount it on TOP and make it look hideous ;) You'll thank me later...visibility is more critical than "cool factor" - HOWEVER, when and if you achieve some level of skill, and want to move your setup INSIDE the cabin, there is some room, but it'll still be minor RC surgery to get it all to fit and work. Please keep in mind, flying RC is so very different than GA, and many of the skills are just not translatable, BUT there are a lot of science and technology that will come in handy. Understanding HOW planes fly, and what to do might be helpful, but the muscle memory required to fly an RC plane will be the hardest part. You CAN do it, and don't get discouraged. There's never been an easier time to learn to fly, and we'll be here to help how we can! As with any other aviation pursuit, starting in the right place will help you find success, so don't get to laser focused on the Maule. If you can make it your 3rd or 4th plane, you'll have a LOT easier path.
It's NOT better, but it does have Predator ESC with Thrust Reverse, so if EFlite re-released the RED with AVIAN ESC, the BNF offering would PROBABLY be better, but that's not currently the case. Hope this makes sense - BOTH ARE GREAT! bprc.me/Maule (EFlite - RED) VS bprc.me/FMS_Maule (FMS - BLUE)
You guys are going to regret the crab apple tree. Having to pick all the apples up is miserable. I don’t know if you might just be able to mow over them, but sick your kids on em to pick em up…I was a kid once, that’s why I hate crab apple trees😂😂😅 love the videos, beautiful home. Getting the pond??😁
Pls make another video of the Fms maule I’m planning on buying it for my birthday although it’s expensive about $719 total for the stuff I plan on getting the tx16s and the smart battery and charger you recommended in your last so video can you make a video of either the maule or unboxing tx16s pairing tx16s etc also do need any licenses to fly this plane?
still can't decide between this and the turbo timber evo, can't buy both because next one is the draco. I use spektrum radios so the timber BNF is a plus but I like the looks of the Maule more
I get it...and am also a HUGE cheap-skate, but we love to show the longevity of these packs. I do tend to run them down to something like 0-5% left...but they only get PUFFED by my 240 hour auto-discharge setting, AND this Maule is a battery eater, to be totally honest. Higher C Packs MIGHT be a good idea, but I get NOT doing it.
@@BrianPhillipsRC How about you make one of your 2-hour videos in which all you do is destroy batteries? You get it out of your system and we would now be desensitized to your battery carnage? 😊
More Trump impersonations please. UPS are union drivers so you can't get them fired. I recommend decorative boulders on the sides of your driveway. Plus more obstacles to avoid when flying
NICE flying once again. and great camera work as usual. What a pleasure watching and listening to you two.
Thank you so much - Very glad you enjoyed the footage, and glad you enjoyed our narration ;)

my pa18 1700 cuttoff despite the battery fully charge, only have 60% throttle and it happen twice.
lovely vid, love the family chill talk vibe. just bought this plane starting again after a few years. really nice plane quality build
Awesome, thank you! Great plane, for sure ;)

Love the power of that plane !
It's a bit of a battery chewer, so be aware. Love the power too, especially on floats!!!
I don't comment a lot but I watch them all,start to finish
Thank you Rick!!! We REALLY appreciate this.
"If your wife doesn't like the hobby, just tell her there's snakes in the basement!" Too funny!
This is a true story from REAL people who's identities have been changed to protect their lives ;)
The Maule is a great plane. It’s like a more scale Timber.
si, and you have to fly it a bit more too :)

awesome looking plane, love love the lights.
can you do another one on the bigger jets? su27 etc👍thank you in advance
We will do as many as we can get our hands on ;) Coming soon!
Eflite Timber all day everyday sooo much better own both.. But this isn't a Timber Video so yes.. Maule sweet plane.. lol Nice video guys.
I think the TIMBER(s) is(are) sometimes just TOO easy to fly - I know, I'm crazy, but seriously, this is a THING... The Maule makes you work for it a bit more, so some will HATE this.
Ya i will admit I can do a lot more upside down flying with the timber its just more balance The Maule truly does make you work for it..
Have the Red E flight version , great flying plane. It also has a lot better fit and finish than others. seems to drain a 4s battery faster than other 4s planes which isn't that bad.
YES, this is because the motor / esc design were from yesteryear, and wish they would re-match them for less BATTERY CHEWING performance ;)
I like the lights.
We always love lights!

That's just sexy. No Brian, not you buddy. LoL, hahaha 😆 Sorry I rarely ever comment. It's been a tough time for me. I do enjoy watching the channel
Thanks ;) ...but NOT me???!??! Now I need to cry a little bit - LOL ;)
Thanks!
Is this better than the Eflite Maule(Red color, more visible) version you built and showed before or same plane?
It's NOT better, but it does have Predator ESC with Thrust Reverse, so if EFlite re-released the RED with AVIAN ESC, the BNF offering would PROBABLY be better, but that's not currently the case.

I love this plane in the red.. FYI
I too love the RED, and the BLUE - it's like, which kid is your "favorite" - I say BOTH ;)
LOL to funny. We are not supposed to have favorites but my son is the best.. he he jk..
Is the wing a dihedral design? Kinda looks like it in some shots and not in others.
Fms maule or the fms pa-18 supercub ? What plane is most agile and robust ?
Pls make another video of the Fms maule I’m planning on buying it for my birthday although it’s expensive about $719 total for the stuff I plan on getting the tx16s and the smart battery and charger you recommended in your last so video can you make a video of either the maule or unboxing tx16s pairing tx16s etc also do need any licenses to fly this plane?

What did you end up with??
Did you get those power lines buried?
Which one this or Eflite ???
NIIIIICE 👌🏻
Thanks!
Do you do Para Motors? :-)
Hey Y'alls I'm #1 Again! 🤣🤣😁😎
Holy Moly!
It's like you're just waiting for them. LOL
Love your channel... but... even though I've come to expect it from you Brian the frugal in me is still bothered when you beat-up a battery.
That's funny, me too. I think, "Stop destroying those batteries, they cost money!"
I get it...and am also a HUGE cheap-skate, but we love to show the longevity of these packs.
