My father sailed many of these trawlers as a young 14 year old and later became skipper at 18 and was skipper in the cod war. My sister and I used to jump on his trawlers when they pulled into Hull docks. My father shared some sad but wonderful stories of the sea. My Grandfather, Robert Hannah, Skipper of 'Amber ' of Hull H98 lost with all hands Jan 1920. My Dad was also a Skipper, I sailed 2 years on trawlers . a tough life.
My dad was lost at sea on the Red Falcon in dec 59 I was only 9 month old so never knew him he sailed from Fleetwood and lived in Fleetwood yet his Trawler was bought from Hull
