The Stone Matrix is a revolutionary tool for the decorative vertical concrete market. This tools allows anybody to dive into the world of vertical concrete with confidence. The Stone Matrix is a six piece template pattern system that is completely interchangeable with its partner pieces, top and bottom and end to end, which creates a different group of stones each time a tool edge meets a different edge. Unlike traditional pattern stamps that provide a very limited pattern offering, the Stone Matrix combinations are in the thousands. Even though current manufacturers produce high quality stamping tools, there are still the intrinsic flaws in these systems, namely repetition of pattern design and texture. The very nature of this new design tool eliminates that issue entirely because each piece interacts uniquely with the others. The Matrix purposely displays very little in the way of surface texture and will rely on the installer to create their own textures by way of skins, rollers, and texture trowels further ensuring the uniqueness of each project. Each Stone Matrix piece is 8 ft. long and 16 inches tall so they make an impression very quickly and can allow an installer to complete a stone pattern on large walls in minutes instead of hours.
The tools are most easily used by two people. Once a stamp is in, you just line up the next one to either end or directly above first stamp. The open ended grout line system takes care of the rest. The grout lines produced range from one inch to one and a half inches in depth and will vary in thickness and detail. By using the LEDGE, TEXTURE SLEEVES, SKINS OR TROWELS, you can clean up and customize the design in no time flat.
The notion of stamping the outlining pattern of the design not only saves time for the artist but also reduces the clean out of the pattern by 99%. Both design and clean out account for the bulk of the time spent on the wall. The time saved can then be used in more productive areas of the project and also in tweaking the artwork itself to the end result of perfection. What was once the job of the most experienced person on the crew, creating the pattern, can now be accomplished by the least experienced.
    • Detailed, competent designs.
    • Stamps can be used in varying orientations to produce endless patterns.
    • Up to one inch in relief.
    • Set includes 6 full size mats.
    • Regular stamp size is 16" x 96".
    • Shipping approx 150 per set.

    • @SgtSurf
      @SgtSurf  7 ปีที่แล้ว

It would be better to put up a vapor barrier and then spider lath with a scratch coat. Concrete board is good but there is more to it than that... but yes both methods will give you a base to work off of.

It should not insult you at all. Most of what we fabricate is stone that can not be quarried or is available for purchase. Ive even had companies request shipping containers of "my stone" to be shipped back to England to use on buildings. I had to decline and sent them a picture of a skid of mortar and Tru-pac X. This is an Art Form.

I am a craftsman like yourself don't take what I say personally. As soon as you post a video on you tube you are inviting criticism. I hope this will be helpful for you. I worked in Hollywood for 11 years painting sets. I worked at Universal, MGM, Sony, Fox, and 6 years straight at paramount I tell you that only to point out that they do not keep you at a studio for any amount of time unless you are good at what you do. Those stones do not look like real stones, honest they really don't occasionally you get a good texture or a good color but they would never be excepted by any art director that I ever worked for. I don't know where you got those forms but they are not good. no stone face is that flat in front. and those small triangle stones look ridiculous. Now for the advice; Get some photos have something to look at. Go up in the mountains or out in the desert and take close up pictures I don't know what your capabilities are but that plaster/staff shop is able to go on location and take a mold of almost everything. They were the ones at Universal that made the skin for the shark in Jaws. It is easy to talk yourself and your customer into thinking something looks great when it doesn't really look like anything real. I went to visit a friend when he was painting at a very expensive house in Santa Barbara he showed me a sample panel and said this is what I'm doing in the customers dining room. I took him out the the garage where they were storing there stuff and there was a 5 gallon bucket that they had been spinning there brushes in and the side of the bucket looked EXACTLY like the sample. It looked like a colorful dirty bucket. When you got the mold thingies you felt like that made you and expert at artficial stone but the molds just aren't very good. If you have any artistic integrity you will work at dong better. I've seen the good stuff many times and that's not it. We spray painted a lot of things in Hollywood but for stone like that it would only be the base coat. Remember you can take the brush and and splatter different colors that ads depth instantly. Keep trying and I hope you take this the right way, unfortunately almost nobody can

first, no one who assembly stones organize stones like this, because it is very not good to have a vertical joint running along 3 stones (or 2). Second, it is not creative technic because there is too many repetition (but maybe US people doesn't see frequencies of repetition ? i think they see... they are not more stupid).
And at final point, you can do better (and as quick as your technic) just by create joint yourself with a 1 cm large plate steel piece. You can also add colorant inside the mortar (and much more if you use white/lime mortar). This technic is by the time good if you want to impress 3D wood surface, but for make stones appearance, there is better way to do it by creating alternatively joints yourself.

This is pretty cool we hand carve shotcrete on a bigger scale and my favorite was a small lake this man built for his family compound .it was a huge pond and we shotcreted a 10 ft band around the too of the pond linner carved to look like rock and also for deer and other creatures could use the lips we carved to prevent drowning deer . At one end we made a flat beach entry wear the man placed random real rocks ,sea shells and other cool pieces .it had a lamp black and some light colors added to the mix. I lost all the pics I was bummed. . cool video good work is hard to find

I checked the prices of the stamps they are expencive! I might as well spend that money to build it with Real stones and probably will still be cheaper ! I enjoyed the video though ty.

I understand... if you are only going to do a few hundred feet of stone, and only do one job..then you may be right. But moving forward in the future this stamp pays for itself over and over again. In the stamping world a set of this size in decorative concrete is well over $2000.00 Walttools has the best prices in the country. If you are not from this country then the prices will seem high.

    Great video,
But why is there no texture on the matrix itself.
    It makes things much easier
