  • In this video, we show how to replace the air filters in a 2020 Mercedes Sprinter with a 3.0L V6 turbo diesel engine. These replacements are super easy to DIY it yourself! The cabin filter doesn't even require any tools!
    All that's needed to replace the engine air filter is a torx bit and a flathead screwdriver or 7mm socket. I used a quarter to remove the passenger's side floor to access the cabin filter cover.
    These jobs should be possible for even the most beginner of do-it-yourselfers, so if you're looking for an easy project to build up a little confidence, this is it! The cabin filter only takes a few minutes. The engine filter will take about fifteen or so.

      @@OutofIpswich very. And I especially liked the “mistake” of not seating the engine filter correctly at first. That kind of real world stuff is super helpful for someone like me who has yet to attempt it. 🤗🙏

      @@mattnewman8103 if you only knew how much video we had to delete from trying to diagnose why the cover wouldn't close!! 😂 Don't make our mistakes.

    How do you perform the relearn though? If you don't have could scan tool is there any way to relearn the air filter life and air flow so the fuel trims don't get messed up...

    • @OutofIpswich
      @OutofIpswich  ปีที่แล้ว

      I just verified against the service manual - no relearn procedure is required for intake air filter replacement.

      @@OutofIpswich that is very good to hear and odd. Why is there anything air filter monitor in the engine computer? Why did a sprinter throw a lean code due to a diy air filter install I had to reset? Is there a way around the official mb procedure?

      @@Digitalphantom01 I don't know, unfortunately. I'm just a person, not a Mercedes tech.

    Did you worry about the seal on the turbo after you removed it for changing the fuel filter?

    • @OutofIpswich
      @OutofIpswich  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Nope! I left the inlet pipe attached for the whole job. I merely loosened the clamp enough to rotate it up out of the way. It gave enough room to get the fuel filter out and back in without having to remove the pipe and potentially dislodge the seal.

    If you want a perfect fit you should just buy the OEM air filter from benz

    • @OutofIpswich
      @OutofIpswich  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You could! Do we know who the OEM is for the air filters? I suspect it's probably Mann. The filters shown here fit correctly, you just have to not be an idiot like me as you're installing them. Once they're in, they're great. I just struggled to get there.
