  • In collaboration with Antea Group, ViNotion has completed a project commissioned by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management (Rijkswaterstaat) to perform traffic counting from a drone. During this experiment we investigated the automatic counting in camera images from a tethered (cabled) drone and the extend to which the use of a drone is safe. This deployment offers many advantages, such as e.g. the quick measure of traffic flow in places where no existing cameras are present. This higher camera perspective offers a better overview of the scene which improves the insight into traffic patterns. ViNotion has investigated if the automated analysis with a drone represents a high-quality alternative to traditional traffic counting with loops, cameras or human observers. After analysis of the video from the A1 highway connection in Muiden, automated analysis proved to be more accurate than human counting. Find the official press release here:

Hello, is this a specialized software you're using for the processing of the info? Thanks in advance

Hello. Can you share what the vehicle recognition/counting software you are using is? Is it available? Thank you!

How long does it take to overheat motors?

Hi, do you offer purchase of the drone equipment including its software application that can do automated vehicle counting here in the Philippines?

That colored trajectories are very easy to be produced from optical flow. I dont't think they achieve that from vehicle detection with a bounding box....

the cable is in the purpose of power supply or communication?

Think about how many batteries Drone it takes to fly at least 2 hours in a continuous time... (LOL)
(if a battery lasts 20-25 minutes)
And they say "AWAY THE DRONES FROM ROADS & AIRPORTS"❓
(And think, most violations happen near airports and cities inside)❗️

Check the cable attached to the drone, it is the power supply

0:55 why lie? u show that each colored line was one car,, but then u CGI a lot of colored lines to give the impression of a ot of trafic, but its clearely fake, since u can see that very few cars passed there.

Hi Leonardo, thanks for your comment. The colored lines are aggregate data from longer time periods, rendered on the live video to give an indication of traffic during a longer time period than is shown.

exactly, thats a lie. you could accelerate the whole image in a program.
