I think due to Maeva's dramatic flair, James finds it hard to know when she's being serious or just dramatic, so I see where her frustration is coming from as she's trying to explain how unhappy she is but she's not being taken seriously and we don't know how dismissive James might've been about the subject behind cameras. Us dramatic girls unfortunately end up in a 'cry wolf' scenario when everything's the end of the world but then when we're actually genuinely torn up no one cares to listen anymore, so the lesson is probably for Maeva to pick her battles and it's important for James not to be dismissive too fast. He does treat Maeva like a kicking and screaming 5 yr old at times (which is understandable in some regard) but it can be really patronising to someone who's genuinely in pain.
I'm so here for this take! I feel like there's this weird thing where James thinks Maeva is cute and French and that plays into why he doesn't take her seriously. His facial expressions when she was saying that she wasn't happy really speak to that, I think. The whole 'dramatic' bit with her specifically is totally tied to her Frenchness (not to reduce their whole relationship drama to a culture clash, but I do think it really is at play here). The French enjoy passionate conversations where their partners are *intentional* about loving them and caring for them. It's so romanticised, I know, but it really is how they can think. I think mostly about how whenever she's speaking, oftentimes people laugh at how she says things versus what she's saying and for having been on the show for so long, if you're not able to understand how she doesn't feel wanted, it might be because you're focused on her accent. This show was fun when the cast was in their late teens/early 20s, now its just sad seeing people nearing 30 acting in such dysfunctional ways. They all need therapy because they don't know how to be in healthy relationships.
Miles is hot but he just wants to jump from one girl to another but he stomps each of their hearts. Miles screwed up maeva big time. Miles just wants everyone to have his sloppy seconds. And miles hurt Maeva so much that it is irreparable.

Honestly james is such an emotionally abusive person. i can't believe he says she is dramatic. What a manipulative chav.
