      Everyone learns from someone... all of this jewelry construction (for wire wrap even specifically) is from an ancient time, long before all of us, so I am grateful and blessed that I have the ability to share and teach and pass on the great Craft. At least my version of it ;)
      Thanks again, Madeleine!

      Blushes... thank you, she's the ol' faithful. First hammer I ever bought, still my preferred one too, but she gets a bit worse every year, currently resting as I have a tennis elbow I'm healing (probably in part due to hammering with the 'big boy' hammer these past few months too). While I heal, I hope to give her a new 'due' for care :) The neck of the hammer, the wood, is starting to part too, so I need to look into what to do about that. Thanks again for your lovely comment! Reminds me of my love for her. xo

    My jewellery making journey started out repairing my own broken items. It has progressed to gifts for family and friends. It is such a joy creating adornments that are personal and unique. Each piece is a discovery and often exceeds my expectations though there have been a couple of disappointments. I have not even thought to try wire wrapping yet. The simple lines of your graceful design caught my eye and piqued my curiosity. I was hooked. You have created such an elegant piece that is stunning. The tutorial was compelling and inspirational. I can’t wait to try it out. I suspect it is not going to be easy as you made it look. Thank you so much for such a clear tutorial.

    Have fun, you all! Much love! I hope you love making Quinn! This is a one-wire pendant frame, using 16 inches of 18 gauge, square, soft Copper wire. The back tie wire is 16 inches of 22g half-round. This gorgeous teardrop shape Malachite cabochon is 26mm tall and 13mm wide and 2mm thick. You have enough wire to go a couple mm bigger in your stone if you want. The list of Materials and Tools is always in the first 10 seconds of my videos. Have fun! Ask me questions if you have them.

      @@PerfectlyTwistedJewelry The last wrap of the 18 gauge wire really threw me for some reason. But, This is my first crack at doing this, and I tried using this Argentium wire instead of copper, and noticed that you use copper most all the time, for the tutorials anyway, and this other wire is pretty rough to manhandle even being Dead Soft, so I am going to try another wrap with some thinner copper. Plus the stones I'm using are not really cabochons, they are oval opals and odd shaped which I think is making things a little more difficult, but I rarely give on trying, so, just a matter of getting used to doing I think. Well see.

    • @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry
      @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good morning, Bill... yes, I have Argentium but find it a bit harder at dead soft. Copper is a nice metal for not only design but also because I think it feels the closest to Sterling and GF wire too. I also use Copper because I can't afford to do all the tutorials in Sterling and I'm a bit shy of it right now too, so there's always copper and brass in my studio in abundance because I used to teach students in person, classroom style, so I have tons of it.
      Now that I know your stones... can I suggest your Membership video for Opals...
      Part 1 th-cam.com/video/C15ZADKR1dQ/w-d-xo.html
      Part 2 th-cam.com/video/02S3HdFD5l4/w-d-xo.html
      The other frame that will sit your Opals nicely might be Alice's Amethyst...
      Here is a frame variation... th-cam.com/video/i5v-4QMM0uc/w-d-xo.html
      Here is Alice part 1 th-cam.com/video/d3IlnqeeMLY/w-d-xo.html
      Part 2 th-cam.com/video/n_aICZT4JZM/w-d-xo.html
      Let me know if these help you, Bill, thank you!

    Well, I followed you tutorial I had to do it twice because the first one was really bad and I got to the second one and discovered that I miss calculated the length of my wire so I had to fake a back and if I could post a picture I would, and show you what I did then after I LOS and sanded it and polished it and went to take a picture of it. I realized the bale is crooked and I am going to cry. I do thank you for the tutorial. It’s beautiful and I really liked it.

    • @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry
      @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for your comment, Peggy, I'm sorry you were stressed... I had to read your comment a few times... I imagine, that if you used the same amount of wire... 16 inches and if you ran out of wire and had to add wire to the back... how big was your stone? In my vision of this and because of the way this pendant is constructed... I want to ask... was your stone like 3 or 4 inches long? Please let me know so perhaps I can help make the next one easier on you by helping calculate the amount of wire you need? Hugs you... I think it's probably beautiful and I do wish I could see a picture of it. Thanks for writing and I think you should pat yourself on the back for finishing it all the way through and for improvising the back! This is how a determined Artist works when she's learning... so I hope you'll feel better soon and let me know if I can help.

    • @pse71
      @pse71 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PerfectlyTwistedJewelry The problem wasn’t the calculation on your end the problem was is I can’t retain two seconds the amount of wire and so I cut 16 instead of 18 inches don’t ask me why I just did but it came out very lovely except for the crooked part which I finagled sort of and added a bead and widen the top of the bale by separating the wires from each other. I posted it on Facebook looking some for some advice on what to do for the bale in the process of receiving answers came up with the bead and the splitting of the bail. Several people noticed that it was your tutorial which I forgot to mention in my post sorry mainly because the back of mine is completely different than yours and I had to explain that to them. I’m sorry you couldn’t understand my original post that’s what you call conscious streaming while you dictate into the computer and then I didn’t proofread it my bad. 😂

    • @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry
      @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry  ปีที่แล้ว

      No worries, I do that. I just saw it! Thanks for sharing your gorgeous work! I think you did an outstanding job on it! Yes... people do recognize several of us who share tutorials, so it's always polite to mention where the design came from as well as good business as it's a win win for maker and designer. Thanks again for sharing!

    • @pse71
      @pse71 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PerfectlyTwistedJewelry I do generally give recognition and thanks to the creator of the tutorials. I have to honestly say that this is the first time that I did not, and I don’t know why, because that’s not who I am. I think I was distraught over having shortened the piece and having to create something different, and then to find that it was crooked that I was just not thinking correctly. so I do apologize for not giving you credit for that beautiful tutorial because it is lovely and I’m getting ready to make another one as soon as I get off this computer.

    This is super nice. I don't have square wire, can you perhaps to a tutorial using a round wire if that is possible? I would really appreciate it. Thank you!

    Love this Design, thank you! Can this work with round and half hard wire for the base wire?

    • @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry
      @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It does work with round wires too, Alis, they might 'shift' a bit more because they are Round, but just work them the same way as you see me do the squares. This is a simple design so your Round at Half Hard should be fine also... but maybe harder on your hands! The 'spring back' from the wire will be more at HH, but I'm sure if you have it, you're used to it, so it's probably fine for your hands. Have fun!

    Please tell me what brand tools your using? I'm very new to this & my tools were inherited & the tips are too wide to get into really close spaces. I'm looking to buy new bc this craft is so relaxing & I'm loving what I've done so far. You are great teacher & your work is some of the best I have seen!

      Thank you, Robin, all of the bench tools I use are listed in my Amazon Associates store... here is the link to the store front... www.perfectlytwistedjewelry.com/buy-tools-and-supplies.html
      I do get a small commission from Amazon when you shop using my links, so thank you in advance for your support!
      I hope this helps! I appreciate you and welcome to the love of wire wrapped jewelry! Yay! :D xoxo

    Hello,
    This is a beautiful pendant! Perfectly simple and elegant. Question: Would you use the same gauge wire if you were to use sterling silver? Or how about stainless steel?

      Hi Stacy! I'm so glad you're enjoying the pendant... yes, wire gauges run the same across all wire types... so in Sterling silver for sure, I've actually not used Stainless Steel before so that one, I'm not sure if the gauges run the same but I'm guessing they do. Have fun! Thanks for watching and for your support! xoxo

      Thanks, Tammie, I sold a few of these a couple years ago... this capture technique is 'out there' in the wire wrapping world, but my design here... maybe 2 or 3 years old. I've been wrapping for over 15 years and teaching in one form or another for almost a decade. Thanks again!

    Hi, I am new at this and have larger bumpy stones to work with. I am older and don't have all the finger strength. Is there an easy video you have that can help me get started. I'm not ready to give up. Thank you

      Hi Susie, thanks for reaching out! Given I don't know what your stones actually are, I tried to look up some that might just work for bumpy stones in general.... let me know if any of these videos might help you...
      Herkimer wrap (you don't have to weave the sides, you could just leave them bare wire too)

      Maybe this simple traditional frame?

      This is another simple one but a little fancier bale...

      I hope these help! Thanks again for reaching out, let me know how you do.

    I know you had mentioned some time ago that there was a particular wrap that you had for stones that were reversible but can't recall what that was, do you?

      Hi Mildred, I have done it before without issues, so my guess on your stone is probably so.

      Probably not any time soon, I'm sorry about the audio, you can turn the CC on and read along with the low volume, it might help for now. Thanks for watching!
