I do like maple on maple for stalls. You have to fully break in a maple Tama for it to be super honed for stalls.

i’d be interested to know what you think abt the skinny spike. that’s the problem i have with it because it’ll just fall out when going for j-sticks or smth like that and i don’t feel like i have as much control
See if you have a tama with a smaller hole and bevel, will really help if you like the shape
