This game is so terribly underrated and I enjoyed every minute of it. It's discovering gems like these that make it fun for me to plow through the entire GameCube library. Most of the stuff that I have left to play totally sucks, but this was great. There's some story but I missed most of it as I always do, but it's just some guy takin revenge and shooting a bunch of dudes up. Landing his ass in jail and then beating every inmate to death. Escaping jail and continuing to shoot people up. It's you in a leather jacket equipped with an assault rifle against heavily armored trained soldiers whilst your main character seems to keep a low blood pressure and heart rate all the way through. Totally unrealistic, but that's what makes a fun videogame in my opinion. The gameplay is easy and there's a right amount of blood.. don't worry about losing too many bullets as the game gives you plenty. What's also great about this game is that if you die with less than 50% health at a checkpoint, you'll recover with 50% health on your next try if you die. This way you can't get stuck like with some games I've played. Also, you're always asked the difficulty setting each time you load a save file.. so if the game gets too hard halfway through, you can save your game and load it and continue playing on an easier difficulty. You can also replay missions individually.. and lastly, the jail stage can be a bit confusing with all the navigation but the game decides to lock all doors that you don't have to enter or where you've already obtained the item you need. The game has thought of everything you can imagine so you don't wander around for too long or get stuck because of it's difficulty. You can also use your dog to instant kill an enemy which comes handy when you're out of guns. The dog also fetches the gun for you so that's nice. You're immune to damage during this situation and he's best to use against enemies that have full armor and health or when you're surrounded by many enemies. He doesn't come in handy too much early in the game as the animation generally takes longer than it takes to shoot the enemies down, but he becomes very helpful later on. Has a bit of a recharge timer though. Lastly, the only thing I could imagine myself to complain about are the graphics.. but this game is from 2002 so I didn't expect too much anyway. There's a sequel to this game which is unfortunately a lot shorter but looks graphically a lot better and seems even more fun to play.. it's not on the GameCube however so I won't be able to touch it for a long while.
Not goin to lie this flashed me back to being a kid playing this on Xbox under a blanket cause I had the chance to stay home from church ❤️🖤 7am gaming on summer mornings in the early 2000s was a beautiful thing
I remember this game came out back in 2002 or 3 I was in Middle School I got suspended on purpose just to stay home and play this this was the greatest game ever at the time and I think it still is
Omg i remember when I was a kid I loved this game. When I got to chapter two (stripper club scene) I used to pause the game and turn tv off if my mom was home. Me or my brother would distract her while the other one completed that part 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for the nostalgia trip! I had a dream last night that I was over at my best friend's house from junior high. Him and I rented this I think 2 or 3 weekends in a row when it came out to beat it.
probably not the smartest idea to go into a club owned by bad people while wearing a police jacket... 18:10 bouncer looking like he is ready to fight while watching a pole dancer.
Akemi Homura What’s even more ridiculous is that not only *Dead to Rights* is the 1st game that introduced Strip Clubs in other games like GTA, but this game came out 1 year before the very 1st Dead or Alive Xtreme Volleyball game, but it was until the 3rd installment were the Pole Dance/Strip Club was implemented.
