Its nice to see people really understand that they are evolving and bettering themselves..i love them and what they stand for so any direction they go in I'm gonna support 100% all in all my love is for the band not for the style or genre they chose! A band should never really be labeled as one style or another bc ALL of them will change it up at some point. whether its truly finding their sound and what fits them, maturing, or just have fun with it, it should be embraced and not picked apart. Either you like it or you don't....but i assure all the haters...they give no fucks what you think :) one of the biggest respects I have for this band and why i would follow their music no matter how much they change is they are always true to themselves. Even when they were a heavier band they still had songs like this on every record! Post cards and Polaroids, let love bleed red, who are you now, don't fall alseep at the helm...ect. truth is this is who they've always been! They just dont scream as much anymore..so what! This is still who they are and who they have been from the beginning.
I feel like people are complaining about this album all because of the lack of screaming. The lyrics to all the songs so far are great, Kellin's clean vocals are beautiful as well and also Nick is a great guitarist and deserves more credit than he's getting, though it is understandable that you miss Jesse. The rest of the band also did an amazing job on this album, which you'd hear if you pay some attention to the whole song and not just vocals. There's still heavier songs like "we like it loud" and "kick me" on the album, so it's got a little something for everyone even though their sound has changed a bit. Personally I think it's great that they're experimenting with their music, and even if this would be classified as "pop" then it is by far the best pop music I've heard in a very long time. I kinda feel like some people automatically hate on their slower songs from Madness just because Kellin sings through the entire song without any screams.
To go off what you said, all I really have to say is why wouldn't they change their style to try and appeal new people to their music and try to get a bigger fan base?! People they've changed, yeah we get it, but really everyone has changed their music style. Shit Taylor Swift was country now she's pop as hell! Of Mice & Men changed and Restoring Force sold so many copies because everyone loved it! Motionless In White's album Reincarnate has a different sound! Shit look back, a little further for bigger names, because everyone has changed their music style time and time again. Linkin Park! Avenged Sevenfold! Bring Me the Horizon! Every band changes and experiments a bit. I actually like how the band has been making different type of songs over each album. Ranging themselve from something heavy to lighter songs, they have diversified the music they play. Being a fan of the band and the music they've been creating, I am amazed how over the years they can create good songs on all the genres they've made. Quoting Quinn himself, "If you want With Ears, it's there. If you want Let's Cheer, it's there. Feel, it's there.". An artist shoudn't paint something over and over again expecting any better than the last one.
People are just never satisfied. If you had stayed completely the same, the same people would probably, over time, complain about you changing the same. But, don't you dare change your sound, either, because then it's just shit. Personally, this album is my favorite thing you guys have done. I mean, I would've loved more songs with the sound of Kick Me/We Like It Loud, but I just as much love the title track Madness. Everything just has an atmospheric approach to it, and I love it. Kudos on the new album, and I hope Nick enjoys his time with you guys. Been a fan of him since I heard DRUGS years back.

I think it's ridiculous that people are dissing the band and this album. One of the main points of music is expressing feelings through words, rhythm, and melody. And that's what the band is doing. Honestly if they made this song hardcore I don't think that it would mean as much and get the feeling into the song (I could be wrong because if I'm James dean you're Audrey Hepburn is very hardcore and shows the meaning). So the melodies and rhythms may not be to your liking in this album but in the end it supports the lyrics.
I personally dislike the band due to Kellins cringey, whiney voice, however the lyrical content and instruments are very enjoyable. As a whole though I can't stand his voice so generally dislike the band. The only reason I'm actually on this is to try to get into the band fyi, but I just can't and it makes me kinda mad/sad.

For some reason, I haven't ever really gotten disappointed at this band selling out. Anything Kellin does is magical, he can fit himself in any genre and be perfectly fine with it. With other bands like Chelsea Grin, Attila, Of Mice & Men, losing their raw abilites, bands like this, Carnifex, MIW, etc. are really gaining the lead on the industry these days. While I admit Madness is my least favorite album, I am still proud of these guys moving toward positive directions and actually trying out new things for the better. It's truly inspiring and gives me an edge to start new; with everything.

The first time I listened to Sleeping With Sirens I was 10, now I'm 14 and their music means so much now, it's absolutely unfathomable. This song now reminds me to live, and forget this horrid time. Light up the dark.
I honestly don't understand why people are hating this album. Yes maybe there isn't as much screaming as some of their other albums, but I honestly like this new sound that they have.

To be fair, SWS is not pop-punk nor will they ever be. Alternative Rock would be a better genre to place them in these days. But what ever genre you put them in, still a great band : ).

I love this song and I love them. They make such beautiful music and some people don't appreciate that. Many people think that they've gone downhill in writing music just because they don't write just as much heavy music as they used to. I like this new change because it's heavy in a way but then it's more soft as Kellin said in an interview. The madness songs that I've listened to are good and i'm pretty sure the rest of the album is going to be great. 👍👍👍❤❤❤
I dont know.if everyone knows this, but this album wasnt even supposed to happen. They already had and album they spent about 1 million on and they threw it out last second. So if you want to say that you hate this, just know that they put so much effort into two albums to. create one they were comfortable with putting out. I personally love the album, I feel as though this is what sws is. A mix of really everything. So, just a PSA but just take into consideration that they trashed a whole album so they could sound how they wanted to. And that is what matters most here.

*Sappy storytime warning ahead* This song brings back memories from when I moved schools. I had rly bad anxiety (still have but not as bad as back then) and I've always coped by listening to music. I used to play this song SOOOO many times. I listened to it while walking to school, in class (when we were allowed to listen to music while working on projects), just casually, whenever I was sad, through anxiety attacks etc etc... It's truly an amazing song and listening to it again almost made me cry. I'm very fond of SWS since I used to listen to their music a lot. Now that I've graduated I'm actually kind of sad that it's over but happy at the same time. Sorry I'm just feeling very nostalgic atm. Listening to this song again makes me realise how much music actually has helped me and how much it means to me wowie.
Can people just stop criticizing this album and look at the lyrics for a sec? I'm really not trying to be mean or rude, but I've seen a few comments saying how their other albums had better songs and lyrics. Tbh, I think the lyrics in this whole album have SO much meaning within. SWS tries to connect to their fans, help them through rough time bc they know how much some of us have been through. When you're having a rough time you listen to a song you love and you feel better, ya know? And that's the exact reaction I've gotten from almost all the songs from Madness. If SWS had stuck with heavy songs like Kick Me, it would've eventually gotten old. And that's why I love how they're making both types; heavy and softer ones. Maybe the next album will be more to your expectation. So don't just immediately point fingers and say you're disappointed, because you haven't heard all of Sleeping With Sirens yet.
For some reason, I feel as if they're making "softer" music cause Kellin wants little Copeland to listen to his music without getting deaf, since you know, she's young XD.

Their singing is so understandable and enjoyable unlike other bands who scream as thou excorsism is being performed on them which the song is 90 percent scream 10 percent guitar and drum.
Screams add a level of emotion not attainable through regular singing. They don't just yell "satan" at the mic. You don't like it, good for you, but educate yourself instead of being a bitchy child.
Literally can't wait for the new album. Every song I've heard is great. You guys did amazing. I'm proud to be a part of this fandom. Who cares if they aren't hard anymore? I know I'm gonna get a huge amount of shit for saying this, but I'm kinda disappointed in the direction this album seems to be heading in. The first two songs they released "kick me" and "we like it loud" lead me to believe that they were going back to their roots and producing music that was somewhat similar to the genre they are attributed to. I'm all for having slow songs and pop-ish sounds, but I feel like this fan base has been waiting for sws to go hard again.

I think that the problem is this - everyone is trying to put the band in a box. Put a label on their sound. You can't find one label that fits everything this band or any other band will ever write and perform. SWS is all of the things their fans are saying they are - they're acoustic, pop punk, post hardcore, etc. So, just buy the songs you like :)

I can tell how much time and effort every member of the band put in. The first time I listened to Sleeping With Sirens I was 10, now I'm 14 and their music means so much now, it's absolutely unfathomable. This song now reminds me to live, and forget this horrid time. Light up the dark.
I honestly don't understand why people are hating this album. Yes maybe there isn't as much screaming as some of their other albums, but I honestly like this new sound that they have.
*It's so stupid how people hate on they changing to "pop punk" instead of being post-hardcore like "they used to be". Can't you get over the fact that once in a while bands need a change or a sort of way to bring new audience? If you don't like their new sound you don't have to go around and bitch at them, then go and jam to their old songs no one will stop you. But the people who actually like this are those who accept the fact that things change. Call it shitty pop, call it mainstream or whatever you want, but this is NOTHING like pop plastic songs nowadays, THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER. Amen*

To be fair, SWS is not pop-punk nor will they ever be. Alternative Rock would be a better genre to place them in these days. But what ever genre you put them in, still a great band : ).
I'm so happy I'm not the only one who feels this way! I personally like the songs on this album way more than the other more hardcore ones.
I know it exacly isn't pop punk, but people are putting POP PUNK everywhere so I wanted to make clear that no matter what gender is (like you said), to me they'll still be good. Of course nothing is like before but, like I said; Things change, thanks for understanding.
iBitcha W there's some kind of contradiction in what you said, if they'e looking for new audience by a change.. then that way they will lose their real fans. this album isn't pop punk as most of people say but it lacks that touch of hardcore in it, eventho I think it's still better than feel. I only did it to see the people who would actually hate this because it's not what they usually do. I'm just glad that there is more people who actually love this than hate it. That's when the most beautiful things are created! Can't you guys hear the difference?? Amazing. You guys keep doing you! The band put so much effort in this album. They completing scraped one of their records and put everything they had into this one. It's truly amazing and Kellin's clean vocals are perfect. The band is doing what they love and that's all that matters.

Okay so this might not be my favorite song but I like this album. I don't think I could ever stop liking SWS because they were there for me so I'll return the favor and continue to support them.
This is sooo different then their pervious stuff but I like it.
I love this song and I love them. They make such beautiful music and some people don't appreciate that. Many people think that they've gone downhill in writing music just because they don't write just as much heavy music as they used to. I like this new change because it's heavy in a way but then it's more soft as Kellin said in an interview. The madness songs that I've listened to are good and i'm pretty sure the rest of the album is going to be great. 👍👍👍❤❤❤

No matter how SWS sounds I'm always going to love them.. It's a certain type of feeling they put into their music and it will always be there.
I dont know.if everyone knows this, but this album wasnt even supposed to happen. They already had and album they spent about 1 million on and they threw it out last second. So if you want to say that you hate this, just know that they put so much effort into two albums to. create one they were comfortable with putting out. I personally love the album, I feel as though this is what sws is. A mix of really everything. So, just a PSA but just take into consideration that they trashed a whole album so they could sound how they wanted to. And that is what matters most here.

They went from heavy (KICK ME) from the start of releasing music from MADNESS to releasing these soft songs. No complaints, I like the song, just wonder if they are going to come out with anything else heavier on this album.
I heard their song Parasites is their heaviest one on the album. They said it's very similar to the dead walker texas ranger sound so 😀

This song brings back memories from when I moved schools. I had rly bad anxiety (still have but not as bad as back then) and I've always coped by listening to music. I used to play this song SOOOO many times. I listened to it while walking to school, in class (when we were allowed to listen to music while working on projects), just casually, whenever I was sad, through anxiety attacks etc etc... It's truly an amazing song and listening to it again almost made me cry. I'm very fond of SWS since I used to listen to their music a lot. Now that I've graduated I'm actually kind of sad that it's over but happy at the same time. Sorry I'm just feeling very nostalgic atm.
Listening to this song again makes me realise how much music actually has helped me and how much it means to me wowie.
Can people just stop criticizing this album and look at the lyrics for a sec? I'm really not trying to be mean or rude, but I've seen a few comments saying how their other albums had better songs and lyrics. Tbh, I think the lyrics in this whole album have SO much meaning within. SWS tries to connect to their fans, help them through rough time bc they know how much some of us have been through. When you're having a rough time you listen to a song you love and you feel better, ya know? And that's the exact reaction I've gotten from almost all the songs from Madness. If SWS had stuck with heavy songs like Kick Me, it would've eventually gotten old. And that's why I love how they're making both types; heavy and softer ones. Maybe the next album will be more to your expectation. So don't just immediately point fingers and say you're disappointed, because you haven't heard all of Sleeping With Sirens yet.

For some reason, I feel as if they're making "softer" music cause Kellin wants little Copeland to listen to his music without getting deaf, since you know, she's young XD.
This is one of the best songs I've heard from them. I know that they're getting huge in popularity & I'll miss the small fan base they had when I started listening to them but they're so successful. I couldn't be prouder of them; I'll continue watching them grow.

Their singing is so understandable and enjoyable unlike other bands who scream as thou excorsism is being performed on them which the song is 90 percent scream 10 percent guitar and drum.

Screams add a level of emotion not attainable through regular singing. They don't just yell "satan" at the mic. You don't like it, good for you, but educate yourself instead of being a bitchy child.

I love sws.... Gawd their music is life and they are just amazing and perfect.
I know I'm gonna get a huge amount of shit for saying this, but I'm kinda disappointed in the direction this album seems to be heading in. The first two songs they released "kick me" and "we like it loud" lead me to believe that they were going back to their roots and producing music that was somewhat similar to the genre they are attributed to. I'm all for having slow songs and pop-ish sounds, but I feel like this fan base has been waiting for sws to go hard again.

I think that the problem is this - everyone is trying to put the band in a box. Put a label on their sound. You can't find one label that fits everything this band or any other band will ever write and perform. SWS is all of the things their fans are saying they are - they're acoustic, pop punk, post hardcore, etc. So, just buy the songs you like :)

What is all this hate? I swear, no one is ever happy. How boring would it be if they sang the same exact music all the time? Every band/artist changes the way they sound slightly. Their new sound is different, yet amazing. People just can't handle change.
Well, people like what they like. Some people may not be as fond of their new sound. That doesn't mean they're "hating." Also, I prefer their old style, not gonna lie. I wouldn't get bored if they remained a post-hardcore band. I like post-hardcore and I don't like pop punk or whatever this album would be considered to be as much.
Okay, I keep seeing all these posts about how everybody was excited with the first two songs released because everyone thought they would go back to their original stuff. I will admit I was excited too. But each song that has been released I have fallen in love with. The lyrics are literally perfection. I'm sorry that you are upset about the lack of screamo but honestly some people enjoy all of their songs. No matter if it's slow or if it's hard and fast.
Enjoy the fact that they are actually making music and putting thought into their lyrics.

This album is definitely going to be amazing! So far each song I've heard has a meaning to me especially "Better Off Dead" , "Fly" and this one. Some of them make me cry. I can tell how much time and effort every member of the band put in. I appreciate their work and in my opinion they are one of the most inspirational bands out there and they have so much emotion in their song. You guys are doing great and Thank you ❤
