He was one of those bulls who knew how to act for the crowd . He would give the riders enough without hurting them. He had the talent to keep most riders from getting time.
Fantastic stuff. Good footage of Chainsaw is hard to find and you did a great job finding it all. The description was brilliant as well, very informative:)
@krethion2473 only 4 people rode for 8 on chain saw. Dave Johnston, Troy Dunn, Dean Pace, Wayne Robson. Troy rode it for 8 on 5 occasions. None of them broke there back getting off it???
The song "Chainsaw" in the video was performed by Reg Poole, but it was written by Tom McIvor, a mate of Reg and a talented Rodeo Rider, Singer and Songwriter.
This is incredible! Have been searching for Chainsaw footage for a long time. Have put some videos up on youtube when Dean Pace rode him and also at Mt Isa but thats all i could find.. Thanks for this. Brillient!
Yes a beautiful bull and a fantastic song to go with it love that song chainsaw my mom's favourite song he definitely knew how to get the crowed going and I love the laps he does afterwards like yes I am the one and only chainsaw
Had the pleasure of seeing this bull in his prime. He was ranker than this video shows. Was ridden by; Troy Dunn twice at least, Darryl Mills, Luke Lindley.
Used to see chainsaw at the rodeo each year was great my dad was a bull rider and my neighbours used to have rodeo bulls for the circuit and chainsaw was one of them used to go over and watch them buck out bulls after school they were some mega talented super tuff dudes but definitely some crazy factor but chainsaw was always great to watch what a bull.

It was just a bull, a steer, for Christ's sake. It was just a poor dumb critter, and there is no getting away from that. But, on the other hand, he did have a sense of his human-imposed task, he did have an idea that humans appreciated his routines, and he had since developed a commitment to losing the riders, and parading afterwards for the applause, and he did enjoy it. There is no doubt whatsoever about that. That is not just whimsical thought. He had no intention of taking out a clown or a rider or anyone else in the course of it, at least as an immediate priority.
A guy zapped Chainsaw with an electric prod just as Chainsaw was leaving the chute, that's not only animal cruelty that's cheating, of course the bull will be rank if it's been electrocuted.
You must be American. There's a world beyond your borders and we all survive beautifully without you. Just so you know, your laws and customs don't apply here.
I just love the way Chainsaw does a "round of honour" each time he throws a rider.

My cousin said this bull loved the crowd more than the men who tried to ride him.

I wood sing the song but the bulls look weak great song
james bowman Looks can bé deceiving 😃
Why did they always hit him in the balls with a cattle prod too get him too buck right before they open the gate
Hit him in the balls? Sure if his balls are on his back. Prods are no longer used in rodeo .
My great pop sold him to the owners of him facts
Do you know if a family called the Corbetts ever owned him?
I know the man who owned chainsaw
George Hempenstall from Yass in NSW

Pretty good bull but I've seen better. Plus I notice they are shocking him everytime he leaves the gate
Hey Australia stop trying to be country western
