RM actually recently on a vlive explicitly told ARMY not to respond to haters as it only brings more attention to the hate. But in a fandom as large as ours, there are still plenty of bad eggs who still engage in the fan wars and the negativity, unfortunately.

Check out BTS's stadium tour in 2019, capacities ranged from 50-90k people. They were the 6th top grossing tour in 2019, among greats like Ed Sheeran, Pink, The Rolling Stones, Metallica, etc. If the pandemic didn't happen, they probably would have been the top grossing tour in 2020 cause they would've performed in more stadiums all over the world.

Every fandom is protective of their artist. As an ARMY (so some might say I'm biased) I never understood the attacks against BTS from the beginning because they didn't have influence, power or money. Why would you attack a group when your group is in a better position? Once the guys started gaining traction I understand but in the beginning when they had nothing...... When it came to CitiField, they knew that BTS would sell it out because CitiField was an add on concert while they were already touring the US. So they had tons of data already for that tour about how sales for that venue could go. Lastly, no kpop idol for the most part will ever address their fans about fanwars. BTS only recently said a general statement at one of the PTD concerts. RM was talking to ARMY saying don't care about the grammys or haters. It's not worth our time and energy. Some of us try to never get involved in fanwars and unfortunately in all fandoms including ours some live for it. But groups aren't usually going to say anything because it's been going on in kpop from Day One. In the olden times, fandoms had fist fights so it's not getting out of the culture anytime soon.

I have a BTS membership. When BTS announced their PTD in LA, then Vegas a few mths later, hoped I will be able to get tickets. In both instances (4 concerts in LA, 4 concerts in Vegas), the tickets were sold out by the date where they were supposed to be released to the general public (non membership). Only reason I got tickets to d3 in LA and d2 in Vegas was because of membership. It’s crazy to try to get them.

Army tend to be very protective over BTS since they have been receiving these type of hate and racist remarks since day one. I love how Karma is an Army and sometimes attacks instantly lmao. It’s funny to me watch this video after years and compare how huge they are now and all the things they have achieved . I’m so proud of them and Army 😭💜 BTS PAVED THE WAY

The amount of hate that BTS are receiving compared to other groups is ridiculous and a lot of reactors or new army are obsess about the question : "what has BTS done to deserve all those hates?" . They've always been very humble, down to earth and respectful towards others. From a business point of view, Koream culture is hierarchal and strict adherence to this hierarchy is mandatory for everyone. For a small unknown company with ragtag idols to dare to compete with the big guns is near blasphemy; so every effort is taken to ensure this system is not disrupted. That's just how things work. BTS and Big Hit was différent since the pre début. Bang Si-Hyuk , when he created Big Hit, openly stated he didn't like the system that the Idol industry had created and he wanted to do better. So he choose the boys for their talents and raw potential, not for their face (except Jin, none of them fit the very strict "k pop male beauty standards" , that's why anti attack them so badly for being "ugly (!) or "not a idol face", specially RM and J hope, but also Jimin who suffer from bodyshaming because he was cheeky and not thin enough, poor angel ! ) BH let the boys have control over music, express their opinions, allowed them to talk about issues that many in SK society wouldn't, like mental health, school pressure, disparity in societal classes and so on. This mindset, added to the lack of fund and connections, made them an anomaly in the Kpop Industry. The big 3 compagnies in Kpop controlled the media through this "pay to play system". At first, they look down on BTS, then they tried to buy them (in order to make them desappear, as they have done for some other groups) but Bang PD said no. So they tried to block BTS from broadcasts and TV promotions. BTS being creative, went around the establishment and develop their own shows, their own media platform ( Weverse) and used youtube to subvert the industry. Which made people in the industry mad so they tried to sabotage them through made up scandals and accusations, with the active help of their own groups fandoms. Behind the "fandoms war", it was a économical and industry war ! BTS knew that as they went through every hardships along their journey, the ARMYs are going through the same and yet the ARMYs still believe in them and fight for them no matter what. Sadly, K.ARMY (Korean fans) have faced so much hate, bullying and even physical attacks for simply being their fans ! Their was a time when in certain places it wasn't safe to let it be known you were an ARMY. This might be one of the many reason BTS have chosen to speak out about ending bullying and violence against youth. BTS create the song 2!3! to give comfort to Army during this "dark years (2015-2017) BTS succeed against the system witch try to destroy them. As they began to get successful worldwide, … more hate come, with racism, xenophobia, and homophobia (even if they never talk about their sexual orientation, they are considered at least feminist and pro LGBT rights, with is sufficient from stupid people to hate someone, and being accused of “gay propaganda” in some countries ! ) . And a lot of prejudice (in part because they are considered as Kpop band, Ha Ha , so ironic ! ) .But maybe behind the xenophobia, there is still a question of money and power : If BTS was owned by a american label who make profit from them, it would have been a very different story. Despite all this , BTS succeed and have faced the backlash with dignity and class and continue to spread their message of love to the world. They responding to the hate with their hard work and talent (and also a few awesome diss tracks and cyphers ). And it's the best way to do.

As a marketing pro, you were correct about holding tickets back. Also, if you ever see ads for plays or museum exhibits that say "last chance to attend before the show ends" followed up by "due to popular demand, we are extending the run," that extension has been known about for months and they are trying to sell tickets by making people think this is their last chance to see it. Think it's important for people to be aware so they can make informed purchasing decisions. Borahae!

People would always say armys are toxic. Why? Because other fandoms are talking sgit and fragging bts/armys on everything. Even if it's an army/bts posts, they comment sh*t and expect armys to let them slide. No. Armys fight and also tall sh*t about their idols. When armys fight back they can armys toxic. But they are the first one to talk bad about bts and armys. Then they cry when armys fight back and call foul that armys are bullying their idols. Like wtf?

I tried at thte time I knew that!.. nothing, sold out... That's why nowadays they do it for free, on Weverse 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 Next 15th, October (Korea time) they will perform for free in Busan, a concert that will lasst one hour....

  • @mae__

    That video was... interesting 😂😂
FYI some of the information is quite outdated for instance regarding ticket sales of stadiums, BTS is now on a whole other stratosphere... the question is no longer IF they will sell out stadiums but HOW MANY DAYS... On their latest concert in Vegas they sold out 4 nights at the Allegiant Stadium within a few hours and live viewings were happening at the MGM in parallel. They are at a point where selling out any stadium anywhere in the world is not even a question anymore.
Next week they will hold a free concert in Korea and ARMYs are flying from across the world right now to Korea... the national airways are adding flights, trains, bus, the government and cities have accomodation reserved for ARMY.. like it's pretty insane! The economic impact of BTS in generally aroung 0.5% of Korea's GDP, which is insane but what is happening right now is unheard of!

I appreciate your explanation on ticketing. I agree things are not as obvious as it looks, but with Citi (BTS' first stadium concert) the tickets really did sell out that fast. It was a last minute add on the US leg of their tour and it sold out extremely fast and fans lined up for days. It was major news in NYC, because of the fans camping outside the stadium. The city even re-routed subway trains to keep up with the demand.

A lot of the trash talk and libeling of BTS originated from the fandom of a certain Big 3 corporation three letter male concept group which perceived BTS as a challenge to their highly talented favorite. They slandered, accused, belittled, threw hate and even issued death threats in efforts to make BTS unpalatable to the public, thus leaving their favorites without credible challenge. There also was a female Big Corporation group fandom which felt after blowing up with a great debut also saw BTS as a challenge in their path for ears and eyeballs. Fortunately, antis in both fandoms seem to be more simmered currently as BTS transcended anything previously seen in Korean popular music making anti behavior more trifling than damaging.
Please keep in mind members of both groups were not the ones misbehaving. It was their fans. There are many friendships at the group level within K Pop and indeed amongst these groups. While artists seem capable of respecting each other, the investment in their favorites by fans too often morph into some pretty bad behavior. This is particularly true of fans of Big 3 acts and not nearly the issue with acts from smaller nonprivileged corporations.

This year BTS did not attend the BBMAs and some said that was irrelevant because it wouldn't impact the show at all... BBMAs eventually resorted to giving away the tickets for free just to get an audience and still only filled about half the venue compared to the sold out shows when BTS attended. No impact indeed. /s 😏

But the tickets available for sale not ones held back available were sold out! If they have shows for four days in a row they sale out in hours. Do you realize if you want a ticket you take day off work use multiple phones and pray your able to get a ticket. Not that easy.

  • @freyja6360
    @freyja6360 2 ปีที่แล้ว

You're absolutely right about the tickets and that practices are quite well-known but that concert happened 4 years ago and was sold out, so I don't get what you were trying to say and why (honestly, I'm not trying to be shady, I'm a bit confused). It was just a cute picture used for the vid full of memes. They look like they smile at the haters there and I don't think that the tickets for that show were available after this annuncement (I might be wrong here, someone correct me if that's the case). I think you took it a little bit too seriously.😉 Still, maybe it was useful for someone, so why not?💜
PS. If free BTS concert tickets are available in any company and (some of them) survive the bosses taking them for themselves, there are hunger games happening because of them. Even politicians at the White House were fighting for the opportunity to see BTS when they visited. In their case returns are highly improbable, empty seats because people didn't show up neither. People won't give up their hard-earned tickets for a rare show easily and even when they don't know BTS well, they'll go out of curiosity. Kinda like with OG "Hamilton" cast and how people where fighting to see it back then.😆
