Glad they worked out for you. I am growing 12 dwarf tomatoes this spring, most in 5 gallon buckets. Micros are good for the winter months. It lets you maintain your passion all year, not just in the spring, summer and fall.
Thank you. Good luck this season with all your dwarf plants. It was really nice having some cherry tomatoes through the winter. Hopefully I’ll get better at growing them and get better harvests as I continue to grow them each season.
I think you made the right decision to start them a little later, the first time I started tomatoes I started them in the end of February, they were too big when I could finally plant them out. Now I only start them on March 15, it's a national holiday here, so I'm always at home that day 😊
Thank you. I sure hope so. There always so much excitement but also trepidation at the beginning of the season when starting all my seeds. I always think I’m gonna screw it all up. I tend to overthink things.
Hi Jen, I’m doing dwarfs also for the first time, also your shamrock seed swap was the best I’ve ever participated in. If people sat out this year then they really missed out. 👍🏻❤️ jimmy and Barbara
Oh wow. What an awesome thing to hear. I’m so happy you enjoyed the seed swap. I do hope everyone was glad they participated. I was very nervous about doing it since it was my very first go at doing one. Good Luck with all your dwarfs this year. I’m staring at my little pots watching for them to start popping up. Should be any day now. 😊
Yay. I hope your micros do well for you. So far leaving the insert out is working out. I’m about to head to the basement and take the insert out from my peppers. I’m having the same issue and I think it’s affecting my germination.
😊😊❤️you are so sweet. Thank you. Would you believe years back when I first started to to want to have a TH-cam channel. I thought I would do a make up one. 🤣🤣 but then I realized I actually don’t know what I’m doing. I just like to play with make. ❤️
@@jencordial 😂 You would have made make-up videos fun! I don’t wear it anymore, maybe to a wedding or something now and then. I do appreciate a well made face though 😍
Some seeds do require light for germination but I'm assuming u only meant tomato seeds..... I'm so excited for this growing season I wish winter would move out already, geesh 🤣
Yes I did mean tomatoes. Whoopsie. I guess I should correct myself in another video. Lettuce for sure needs light to germinate. Thanks for noticing my blunder. 😊. I appreciate you being so observant truly. ❤️
@@jencordial Oh good I hoped this didn't come off as me being a dick especially after mentioning the background music cause that is NOT my intent at all 🥰
@@oldbear6813 not at all. You were very kind in how you wrote it. I appreciate all your feedback. I don’t mind being corrected when I’m wrong which surprisingly happens quite often🤣 If you have any experience with making thumbnails I’d love any suggestions. Apparently I’m not great at those or my titles to my videos. TH-cam is hard.
Hey Jen fun fun fun video. I love tomatoes and every year I get to lookin at my tomato seeds and I have to decide which of the 35-40 varieties I want to plant this year. Then I have the 10-15 brand new ones I ordered during the winter. Many come from videos like this one where I hear about one and just order it. I did hear about the dwarf tomatoes this winter and I did order 5 different ones that I started but they are not very far along yet. I am going to try several other dwarf plants like cucumbers, beans and some others. So I am very interested in how the dwarf plants go for you. Good luck with the spring germination. Bye for now
Hi there. Thank you. And I am very excited to start my tomatoes this year. I’m starting so many new ones. Lots of micros and dwarfs. I’m doing more hearts this year. It should be really fun to walk through my garden when they all start fruiting and ripening. Thank you for showing my channel so much love. I truly appreciate you. ❤️
Definitely worth the price for the trays etc from Bootstrap farmer. Beats using the flimsy ones that can crack and your transplants fall to the ground ( lesson learned 😢)
Yes I agree. And I’m so sorry 😞. That’s a real bummer. That’s gotta hurt considering all the hard work put into starting from seed. I think I’d probably need to cry for a bit if that happened to me. But then I’d break out my seeds again and give it another go. 😊❤️
@@jencordial happened 2nd year growing my veggies. Since then I definitely have loved my multiple colored trays etc from Bootstrap farmer they're so sturdy for sure
Very informative. Thanks for the staking tip. This my first year growing Micro Dwarf. I wasn't aware that I would need to stake them. I will definitely be doing that tomorrow. Do you think a chopstick will work or should I go for something longer?
I grew Monetka hydroponically and it has been awful tasting haha! Oh well. It's also 23+ inches, so not so much a micro 😵💫 I've definitely noticed a difference in taste when growing tomatoes in hydroponic vs soil though.
I haven’t ever tasted one so I don’t even know if what I read is at all true. 😂. That’s a bummer though that you think it tastes awful. I love white tomatoes but my husband thinks most of them taste like acid reflux 😂. So I always tell people they have to try for themselves to really know. I’ve never gotten into hydroponics yet but it definitely interests me. But I really enjoy getting my hands in some dirt most of the time. 😊❤️

I start my micros in those same Bootstrap Farmer cells! And I agree about the issue with the inserts!

So many fun micro dwarfs! I can't wait to try new ones next year. Your make-up looks gorgeous; loving that eye shadow color👌😍

I've used wooden skewers you get at grocery store near the charcoal, I've found using 2 each micro plant works out good
Absolutely. They don’t really have to much weight to them so I think they would work perfectly. 😊❤️.

Try growing one in an earthbox jr 🎉
I had to go and look up what an earth box was. I’d never heard of that before. They look very interesting. Is that how you grow yours?
