I've spent a long time trying to find his set up for the unbending strings, it isn't Evertune. Or it is some kind of custom bridge set up! I want it so bad. The only thing I can think of is that his Evertune is so loose it doesn't bend. I love that idea though.
Honestly I didn't realize those riffs on more than just power chords. He has the power cords but then he is plugging separate notes in between. That's cool I need to start doing that
I see that this dude follows the tom delonge formula of a Seymour Duncan bridge pickup, 10-52 ernie ball strings, and a dual rectifier. A formula that hasn't sounded shitty yet
If the second cabinet is so that Ian can hear him, I would assume that means they're not using in ear monitors? Then that also means they're not playing to a click track?
Hey Chad do you think you can give us a tab video for better off dead riff? the way you play it is unique can never find the right way to do this... would really be great
You know, I don't think he does. He used to Play EMG 81's, though, to stiffen things up. Plus, having the amp cranked at stage-level helps getting rid of that soggy bottom end.
He uses SD SH-5, and EMG 81 for recording. That guitar in the video is his custom so it’s either got the custom buckers or the SD’s dropped in I believe. The only pedals I’ve ever seen him use is boss noise gate and a flanger
a guy who knows how to eq a recto!
Thank you for this! Chad is one of the reasons I picked up a guitar and continues to be an inspiration in the genre of pop punk. Awesome video
Awesome. Spilling ALL the beans. I LOVE it. Didn't know that about the string bending.

The best is Billie Joe Armstrong. Hands fucking down.
@@heyimjoshnicetomeetya hahahah yeah no
Tom Delonge has written some of the best riffs ever 🤷🏻♂️

Hell of a guitar player 🎸

Matt Elrod I thought Tom Delonge used super high gain Vader pickups
@@battmarn the invader was in the bridge position on the guitar tho

Yeah that’s right. Cyrus confirmed they don’t use click track. He plays a lot of the live stuff faster than the albums he said.
Killer player. I’d way rather be able to riff and play melodic leads like this dude rather than shred any day of the week. Its so much more fun.

Right? I just assumed that was two guitars not one. Maybe it was for the recording.
Nothing beats the sound of a Les Paul custom!
Only about every Fender out there
CornKing Said no one ever.
I'm a big Fender fan, and even I have to question that claim ;-P
I mean, it has Fishmans, it's not exactly your typical Les Paul custom tone
1:47 whats the song name?
Ready and willing
I wish he would have shown what pedals he uses. He’s gotta be boosting that Rectifier with something.

@@EmoDaveAbrenica 0:52 is Better Off Dead, not Hit Or Miss
