Edwin, I really can't thank you enough for what all you do for us fisher people. Please keep doing what you do. My daughter and I have learned so much from you and you're videos.
My Dad and I used to fish all the time when I get as a kid, but we rarely got to go once I started my own life. We recently bonded over you and your videos and started talking fishing again. I've now rented a house on Lake Murray here in SC and we are going fishing for a whole week. Thanks Edwin.
Never thought of rigging a fluke that way, looking forward to trying it. My wife and I will be attending our first Bass Tournament this Sunday. Good luck, hope to see you at Cayuga Lake.
I absolutely love the “think outside of box” comment. I preach this exact concept to my team as much as possible in my professional life for an approach towards solving problems. (Ironically, the words “think outside the box” were taught to me by the manager I succeeded who was also from Oklahoma even if that is how my brain normally operated) I have quite recently gotten back into bass fishing partly influenced by watching videos like yours and Tyler reel fishing. I rarely get to fish on the ideal days or at the ideal times or under ideal conditions, but I always value my time on the water as a peaceful down time and I have ultimate confidence that if I make enough casts with a senko style bait that I’ll almost always go home without smelling that dreaded skunk. That method as largely been successful (as far as avoiding the skunk) but listening to this makes me want to rethink my bass fishing recreation time as a problem to be solved on a given day with given conditions as opposed to merely enjoying the down time. Thanks Edwin for doing these videos.
Love learning every technique you teach! I use everything I learn from you in tournaments. Hoping to use the baits you talked about in this weekends tournament. Never would have thought about a jerk shad on a swing head
Enjoying all the videos. This summer has been especially tough for me for some reason. I fish Lake Norman, Lake Wylie. And Lake Wateree. And you guys just finished a cup on Wylie and Wateree. So you know how tough those lakes can be. Lol. Thank you so much for suggesting these baits. I have not been throwing any of these three baits you suggested for August. Can’t wait to get back out there and try these. Thank you again.
Glad you are having a blast with the channel. Some people tried hard to grow a channel without much luck. You have a good thing going on there so keep making it great!
I’m a captain for my son’s high school fishing team and we watch everyone of your videos and the information for what baits to use for the time of year and the lake’s help us out a lot! Thank you very much for your time and keep up the good work. God Bless!
Thanks for more information and hopefully I can be a winner in the next drawing. I’m really excited about participating with the pond building. I’m really excited to see how that turns out!
I love using big jigs and wake baits around this time down here in Florida! Love all of your videos! Also I always have a fluke rigged up at all times!
Considering what you do to help out others looking for infomations, I am not surprised your channel is doing great!. Hope the channel will grow bigger and reach new heights as you move forward. Keep it up my friend.
August is definitely one of the toughest months here in the TX panhandle. It is easy to fall in a rut of throwing the same old squarebill and shaky head you were catching them on a few weeks before. Thanks for some fresh ideas!
The one thing I look forward to watching the most at the beginning of every month are your top 3 bait videos , they have helped me immensely on catching more bass and taking my game to next level THANKS A MILLION
My son is 11 and liked video games more than being outdoors and fishing...Not Any More!! I set the swing head w a fluke style bait up for him and the Ned rig u like, now he's HOOKED !! Can't Thank Berkley and you E enough for giving me more time w my Boy which is priceless... Thanks Again
I like the idea of the jerk shad/fluke on a wobble head. Going to have to give that a try myself. It's the out-of-the-box things like that that are a big help. Something different that they may not have seen in my area
August is for sure the dog days of summer in the South. Sam Rayburn can be tough especially if you don't have a bunch of brush piles marked on your GPS out in deeper water. I'm thinking that heavy cover jig on the edges of hydrilla near deeper water could be the ticket to get some better bites. That swing jig head is a cool idea as well. Thanks for the great ideas you provide very month. Take care!
Mr. Evers, your month by month "best bait" videos have proved to be the single most valuable resource for me. I am catching more bass every time I go out. I fish mainly in Lake Hartwell and Keowee in the upstate South Carolina. Thank you again !!!!!
I love throwing heavy jigs in dog days of summer to trigger big bass reaction bites. Love your pond building videos too. Looks hot out there. Kudos to Jose for all his hard work out there with your building those new ponds.
Great advice. I love to see someone else who loves thinking outside of the box. It really makes all the difference in the world. You are a huge help with all the tips that get me to the next level!
I love watching these and then following your advice! Caught some solid bass (largemouth and smallmouth) last month when I tried deep cranking for the first time! Thank you again for all the tips. Keep crushing it!
I've met you several times when I worked at Vera Grocery & grill. My son and I have been fishing several times a week lately and we enjoy your videos and advice on bait and technique and love and share your excitement for fishing.
Love the jerk bait on a swing head. Tried it on a highly pressured State Park lake near my home and they ate it up! Really caught them good on grass line edges. Thanks for the tip!!
thanks all the information that you give us i will try all this on my fish trip on 08/18/2022 in ohio deer creek lake in Mt.sterling, ohio !!! that would be a great birthday present 08/09/1974 lol and where im going on my fishing trip i have they have caught 15 to 20 pounds bass in the lake ... have a nice day and god bless you be safe out there...
The Ned rig and hearing you talking about floating down streams in ozarks made me get back to some roots and memories. But either on the lake, the main river channel, backs of creeks, or even small creeks the Ned rig has been a thorn in my side. When they first got hot again I used them with some success then faded away from it. Now I have to force myself to use it, get frustrated and put it down
Yes! Thank you! I've been throwing a swing head and a mushroom head EWG rigged with a soft plastic jerk bait and man I've been doing really well with it. Feels good to be on a kayak with three or four bass boats around you not catching nothing and you're the only one catching them 👍
Seems to me I need to learn to fish a jig!! Jigs seem to be a part of my fishing game that I can’t seem to get confidence in!! I appreciate all your videos and look forward to the ones of building the ponds!! You are truly living every country boys dream!! God bless and safe travels
Thanks for the August tips. Again, hot and clear water making getting bites tough!! Can't wait to try the Swing head with the fluke...very cool presentation!!!
Always appreciate your videos, I love that you get to the point and don't make 50+ minute videos all the time like some channels. The fluke on the swing head jig is something I have never thought of or tried. I'm going to try it out Thursday see if I can show 'em someting different. Thanks again!
Thank you Edwin for all the valuable information. I hope you can make a few more videos while fishing from your kayak. You are right about thinking outside of the box with more anglers on the water than ever before.
Very informative, thank you! I fish in August very early in the morning, but by 11AM, nothing. I will try what you said with a heavy jig and plenty of speed! Thanks!!
Thanks Edwin for sharing your knowledge of fishing. Never rigged a fluke like that, but going to give it a shot. Love using jigs, also. Headed to Tablerock lake later this month. Tight lines...
It's been tough lately on my local waters so It's good to hear you explain how the bite is tough this time of year and most importantly how to "think outside the box". You did just that and ill be trying your suggestions next time on the water. Thanks E!
Hey bud I love your channel I absolutely love your channel God bless you I have a 10-acre pond here on the ranch I let kids come I bought them a bunch of spinning rods and I try to supply them as much tackle as I can and love watching your videos cuz I go fishing all the time and being 67 years old it's a job just to get out there but I do I love it God bless keep up the good work cuz man you're great
Great info. Appreciate your character and being a good person. Live for past year on Weiss Lake in Alabama. Have been struggling and planning to try these tactics very soon.
Always like the outside the box info, so many times we get stuck throwing the same ole stuff... Will for sure take this to the lake and try them out! Thanks for all you do!
I’ve used the swing head for several years but this is the first time I’ve ever heard of adding a fluke to. Awesome advice can’t wait to try it. Hope you wear em out at Cayuga!!!
I find your videos VERY informative. I like how you stress to think outside be box. Thank you for sharing from your experience fishing. I grew up watching Jimmy Houston, Roland Martin and Bill Dance got a few tips watching them. You are one of the new face of bass fishing and educator of the sport. MANY THANKS continue what you are doing.
Truly outside of the box with the jerk shad. Gonna try it this weekend at local tournament. Love throwing the wobble head already. Enjoy watching you pick and really has helped to open up new ideas to try. Thanks and good luck with remainder of your season. We’re pulling for ya.
Thanks Edwin never thought to put a fluke on the back of a swing head .Great advice going to get my granddaughter set up with that bed and lil trooper.
New to your channel love the information and providing the out of the box approach. Can't wait to check out your channel and getting caught up on everything you have out to help average to tournament anglers! Tight Lines and Screaming Drags! Thanks again, FishTails aka Mike Bainter
Edwin, love all of the content, I love how down to earth you are in your pond videos. You got sweat and dirt and grime all over you putting in that work. The three baits for this month and the techneques you covered are awesome tips and I hope to put them to use this August in my KBF tourneys.
Thanks for breaking down the baits and showing us how to rig something different and also to just keep thinking outside the box. I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve looked at baits and thought there’s no way that’s gonna work, but fish still continue to amaze me. Thanks again for all the videos and content.
My son and I have bought an old tracker and just getting going. Been skunked a few times and am excited to try these recommendations. Been wanting to learn the Ned rig style and I appreciate your advise. Really learning a lot from you. Thanks for your time.
Edwin always look forward to your videos they have help me so much. Been out of bass fishing for 20 years and didn't realize how much it has changed. Keep them coming
Thanks for the info. The shad on the swing head is fire. Punching grass mats with jigs is awesome. But when your line sounds like a Out of tune Violin...That's cool
Love learning from you and listening to your take on baits and riggings. So many great youtubers to learn from and I always comeback and enjoy your stuff .Thanks E.
Breaking it down Coach Evers. Old football days and coaching showing and passing the knowledge. Molding and shaping the 73 year old players. Really enjoy your videos and taking time to share your knowledge. Thank you.
Great suggestion on rigging the jerk shad. We have been catching them on magnum flukes this summer weightless. Hoping to pick up a few more bites with your suggestion. Appreciate your content. Thanks!
Edwin - was out yesterday on Shasta here in northern Cal. A little cooler weather, but still hot. Fishing was tough...threw everything...but only two fish on a blue/silver lipless crank bait. Love the videos...need all the help I can get! Will try the jerk shad on the next trip.
Thanks for sharing some different ways to rig baits. I try them and they’ve really helped me catch more fish. Love all your videos and your enthusiasm. Never lose it. You give great advice for fishing. Thanks again.
August is tough down here in Alabama right now! But the jerk shad on the swing head just made it a little better! Caught several late in evening on it! Amazing!
Great advice. I love the new pond building videos. I am in the planning phase of building my own private pond now, and I will be using some of your tips. I also want to make an Oklahoma smallmouth pond.
Love yer videos like how you go over all the key points at the end setups for each bait where to throw them how to fish them then display it on screen via text adding another element for memory also all the added tips an tricks
Thanks for all the tips for august fishing. Have always liked the jig with the craw trailer, always seems to be a good go to. Never gone that heavy before but now it makes total sense why you would.
I love that swing head I think it is so under utilized. Have you ever tried fishing a tube on it. Needs to be poured solid down 1/2 inch so your not replacing constantly.
Interesting way to rig the fluke. I’ve never thought of using one that way. Will give that a try this weekend! Thanks for all the great tips each month. Very appreciated!!
Thank you for these videos, always makes the gears in my head turn thinking about how and where I can apply these baits on the waters I fish. I love flipping/punching grass it is one of my favorite ways to catch em'! Thank you Mr. Evers!
Here in Montana, I'd fish the Smith river in late summer. All I'd use was a bobber, 1 split shot and a #6 bait hook and a big yellow live grasshopper. Trout central.
Gotta love the fact you are sponsored by my favorite bait company. Your videos are helping me tremendously. I'm new to bass fishing so any help I can get is great. Thanks for the pro trips.
I love the jerk shad on swing head idea. Every time I go out I try to focus on one “out-of-the-box” technique, this one will be on for my next trip for sure. Thanks for the great videos!
Always look forward to your videos! You always seem to have a new twist to the old lures and techniques . Thanks for taking the time to show us how to maybe catch a more fish!
Love the pit of the box thinking. I always have believed the something new or different thinking. Lakes I have fished for years and had success with a bait suddenly stop working. Some may say the lake has lost its population when often of you try that something different you have new found success. Keep them coming.
Always appreciate your take on the baits to use full each month throughout the year. You always seems to come up with baits that push the envelope a bit which I really enjoy and try. Thanks again!
Thanks for all of your advice Edwin. I am new to boat fishing and I always put your tips to use. You have made my fishing trips more enjoyable with the techniques you share. Keep up the great videos.
I look so forward to these videos every month. Learn so much. Would love to get you up here in Wild Wonderful West Virginia and show you some of our awesome lakes.
The Ned Rig is a hot bait in the small lakes and ponds around here in August. Another way i've caught fish around the small ponds I fish here is rigging a fluke weightless with barrel swivels and a leader! Works great, and appreciate the videos and keep them coming Mr. Evers
I've been fishing a fluke for awhile and never really had much luck but when I rigged it the way you did I've had a bunch of success! Great tips for August fishing.
Great suggestions. Snack Break was good too. Throwing heavy jigs & burning through the water sounds good because fishing slow has been boring and unproductive. Thinking out of the box is the bottom line. Time to change it up! BTW, You got me thinking about putting in a large pond also.
Edwin, I really can't thank you enough for what all you do for us fisher people. Please keep doing what you do. My daughter and I have learned so much from you and you're videos.

Can't help but realise the generosity you show as an example. Love to take part in the contest.
Thanks for showing us new techniques!! This is super useful. I can’t wait to try the fluke in a swing head on Beaver Lake.

Great suggestion on rigging the jerk shad. We have been catching them on magnum flukes this summer weightless. Hoping to pick up a few more bites with your suggestion. Appreciate your content. Thanks!
Appreciate what you do. Had my heaviest bag on a weightless fluke in April. Never thought of using a wobble head with it in August! Great tip!
Edwin - was out yesterday on Shasta here in northern Cal. A little cooler weather, but still hot. Fishing was tough...threw everything...but only two fish on a blue/silver lipless crank bait. Love the videos...need all the help I can get! Will try the jerk shad on the next trip.

Awesome suggestions. Thanks. Texas is hot this summer and I haven't fished much. Will try these.
Thanks for all the tips for august fishing. Have always liked the jig with the craw trailer, always seems to be a good go to. Never gone that heavy before but now it makes total sense why you would.
Happy to have found your channel. It is a treasure chest of information.

Always appreciate your take on the baits to use full each month throughout the year. You always seems to come up with baits that push the envelope a bit which I really enjoy and try. Thanks again!
No matter how many videos I watch I always learn something new from you! Thanks Edwin
Been using Powerbaits forever! Sometimes that scent makes all the difference. Great tips! I'm gonna try this!
Thanks for all of your advice Edwin. I am new to boat fishing and I always put your tips to use. You have made my fishing trips more enjoyable with the techniques you share. Keep up the great videos.
Love the thinking outside the box. I have used jigs in late summer for years, great bait.
I look so forward to these videos every month. Learn so much. Would love to get you up here in Wild Wonderful West Virginia and show you some of our awesome lakes.
The swing head is my go to in heavy cover creeping up an over cover.has always produces for me in muddy water
Definitely will try the jerk shad this month. Thanks for the tip.
Great suggestions. Snack Break was good too. Throwing heavy jigs & burning through the water sounds good because fishing slow has been boring and unproductive. Thinking out of the box is the bottom line. Time to change it up! BTW, You got me thinking about putting in a large pond also.
