Yes, law school doesn't teach us how to run a business! It's especially tough now with more new graduates who have no choice but to try starting a solo practice, while learning the ropes of practicing. I'm a solo in North Carolina and have been solo for over 14 years. Great, candid interview. Thanks!

I'm moving from Toronto to Raleigh to start a solo practice when I finish law school in the spring. Glad to hear it can be done successfully (albeit with a lot of hard start up work I'm sure)!
