You missed one important aspect in your analysis which is quite fundamental !! Does it work everywhere and the answer is no. It is actually one of the worst VPNs for getting through country and ISP blocking and when you email protonVPN they just say “it’s your country/ISP and there is nothing we can do about it”.
There are VPNs that actively work to ensure they work everywhere , don’t want to hijack your feed so won’t mention them here.

Because of the swiss laws it is no more absolute save to use protonvpns and protonmails service (especially for swiss) because they are forced to give the meta informations to the police. Recently I found a new vpn service "www.perfect-privacy.com/de/". I also couldn't find this service in your list. How would you rate it? Scam or not? Or even better than protonvpn?
Why better thats because I've seen this news "www.perfect-privacy.com/de/blog/server-seizure-in-rotterdam" where the servers got confiscated.

While you aren’t the largest privacy channel out there, as someone first getting into privacy/security, the fact that you put both affiliate AND non-affiliate links in the description help me to trust y’all even more. Love the work y’all do from educating beginners like me, to the people that understand a whole technical dictionary I’ve never even heard before.

Please forgive what may be a stupid question since this is a topic where I have alot to learn. Does a VPN like this help in ensuring whenever you make an online transaction? My concern isnt so much when I activate the VPN, make a transaction (buying a good, making an investment). Its when I want to stream and temporarily disable the VPN to stream, is my info then vulnerable? If the question is too detailed to answer here, links to learn more about would be great too. Again sorry for what is an elementary question to most of the folks here. Thanks in advance

hello. i have a toshiba laptop, 5 mg, windows 7, chrome browser which i always look for updates. i dont download windows update packages bc the guy at the shop tells me theyre not necessary. i love proton. i only have the free version. i can access live tv sites, but many times the live tv stream buffers for a second or 2, and i notice when i have another tab open and i go there, i can hear the whole stream without any pauses, the whole audio stream works perfect, but when i go back to the live tv stream, it does it again, and whatever im watching, it buffers like i said or even i miss a few parts of the live stream, this happens only with live tv stream. youtube works perfectly. any suggestions?

they "accept cash" only to tick a box. have you actually tested it? with mullvad for example the process was: generate random account number with 0 data, put 5 bucks and a piece of paper with that number in an envelope and mail it, a few days later the accountnumber is charged with a month time (or however much you sent)
With protonvpn you have to make an account with your personal details, and then when you want to pay in cash you have to open a support ticket where they will attempt to convince you to add a normal payment method (I tried this): and ugh Zendesk, the process is also hinted at their own website. Proton is decent, but they have a lot of annoying things ontop of being priced too highly. I am still stuck on Nord currently (3y subscription) but looking for something better.

I've been using ProtonVPN for quite some time now, and I can tell you the free option is probably the best free VPN out there. But considering my use case is to watch US TH-cam stuff, it's a pretty solid option, i'm sure it won't be for everyone. I'm a little annoyed about the feature-locking of base features on other VPN's, but it's not a dealbreaker.

Thanks for the video. As someone who is newly interested in a VPN service, much of it was over my head! But I am researching! I am a signed up user of Proton's email service which is fine, but the Free VPN is not free I'm afraid - you only get one free try at connecting and then that's it! I tried it and it seemed fine. This after many days of being unable toaccess the VPN site due to being blocked out, no matter what browser I used and also after making sure my ISP was not blocking content! But then when I went to the usual places that I have login access to, I found that each place I went to wanted me to reinsert all my usernames and passwords. Some even wanted me to change! Clearly using a VPN to access places I notmally routinely login to, causes major issues! I discussed this with another video maker who looked at VPN and he said that if I was asking these questions, I probably wasn't ready or didn't really have a use for a VPN yet! However, my research continues. Thanks again - Lee UK
