I first discovered Venetia when I was 19 years old, I woke up early and came downstairs and just randomly put on NHK for the first time. Instantly fell in love with how peaceful this show is, it was beautiful. I've been a fan ever since.
I've been enjoying At Home with Venetia in Kyoto for about five years now and it is my most favorite show along with Somewhere Street , both are my gifts for my soul. I am deeply saddened Venetia is losing her eyesight and it's also sad her memory is slowly fading. Thank you for this episode. I missed it because I had visitors when it came on.
Exactly thee same for me. Somewhere Street is what I first discovered on NHK World, and then Venetia. Her show is so lovely and peaceful. I watch it whenever I can and have a load of episodes recorded. She leads such a wonderful life. She's my inspiration. :)

I just love Venetia. I live in a predominantly Japanese neighborhood community and I always wonder if my neighbors are just like her. So peaceful, clean and cool. I just love her life. When I first discovered her on PBS channel, I was just mesmerized by how she cooks and lives and gardens. I love her life so much.
My mom has been watching this show for a long time, from the time she lived in Kuwait. About 7-8 years ago NHK was no longer being broadcasted here in Sri Lanka. Today my mom finally caught up with Venetia, she is a big fan of Venetia and Gardening!
I love Venetia's show and the simple way she lives in harmony with nature. When I was in Japan in November 2018, I took a day trip to Ohara on a whim to meet Venetia. When I reached Ohara, I just randomly walked around until I spotted Venetia's House, I remember her unique upstairs window from watching the show. And was lucky to meet venetia who happened to be home that day. She had a book meeting but obliged to meet and talk to me for a few minutes and I quickly saw her garden and kitchen. She also gave me a calendar with photos of herself in her garden and a bottle of lavender hand-wash she had made herself. So nice. I felt very happy and her husband took a photo of her and I.

I just watched the 2019 autumn one where she held an open garden and saw her dear friends and family. And my she has grown old her white hair and the fact that her eyes are a little bad now(but she said her sense of smell helped her identify the flowers and plants she adored) , makes me sad to see her like that but then she has shared lots of wisdom and creativity to us and to her loved ones. It's so sad too that on the NHK app that's the only episode you can watch :( i would like to watch her previous ones she has helped me ease my anxiety and made me feel warm inside whenever I see her and her lovely garden 🌸😊
It's been several years since I first stumbled upon Venetia on NHK. I love how she lead her life and the life she live. We downgraded our cable more than two yeara now so it makes me happy to see her show here. I watch them a lot. They gave me a warm grandmother like feeling. I wish I could live a life like her too. I've told my friends that I would love to live in a farm and be a farmer instead. I like growing things and the quietness they give.
Congratulations on downgrading your cable, I have never had cable let alone a tv. And I barely have a smartphone, meaning it's an iPhone SE and I also don't have social media, I feel like people are tethered and dependent on it way too much. I hope one day I get to live like Venetia too, slow and embracing the small things most people usually take for granted.

I recently watched an episode where Venetia was being interviewed. I wanted it to go on and on. This was recent and Venetia was living in a care home, yet she was still wise and upbeat. But for me it was heartbreaking. All I could see was Venetia in her beloved garden and home that she tended to with such care, sad thinking she can't enjoy those days again or return home. I was also saddened to see how quickly her health has deteriorated. I miss her. I even wrote to NHK World asking them to continue showing her shows. They wrote me back saying they never would. I feel they should keep us abreast of our beloved Venetia. I also miss her grandson Joe because in those episode with him and with Tadashi Venetia always looked a bit happier. I hope Venetia felt the love from her fans.

I have listening to Venetia for years. My admiration for her lifestyle anf her friends is ever inceasing.
