    I own one of these , last years model a little different looking. They will be on the phone telling DR Power. I don't understand why the clutch and drive belt is worn out, it's a brand new machine. I will admit though, sometimes the machine will grab a hold of a larger branch an pull it out of your hand and will lug the engine a little bit. But I have never had mine stall out like that. He was shoving the branch in an not giving the machine a chance to recover.

    • @gnurmi
      @gnurmi 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      They're self feeding and advertised as such, so they're designed to let go and let the machine take it.

      When users ram a thick branch into the chute, the engine slows down to the point that the centrifugal clutch will momentarily disengage, and then when the drum recovers speed again, the centrifugal clutch will re-engage. Repeated disengagement and re-engagement of the centrifugal clutch causes the clutch to overheat and is a primary cause of failure of these clutches. The moral of the story is don't repeatedly overload these chippers.

    • @hbmarcott
      @hbmarcott 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @stevew3978 I have never had mine disengage the centrifugal clutch. My RPM has never dropped that far down. I've been using mine off and on for 7 years. I have never stalled it out.
