I can happily confirm what others have said of Lucy's stunning performance at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane which I attended with my wife and daughter. In front of a near full house at this amazing venue, Lucy reprised some of her big covers, including: Hallelujah; I Dreamed a Dream; and, one I haven't heard her sing before, Don't Cry for me Argentina. Every song was delivered beautifully and effortlessly, drawing rapturous applause from the audience which was clearly invested in every note. Many members of the audience were on their feet after every song! Lucy also spoke warmly and with humour to the audience throughout the concert thanking them for coming and for supporting her over the years. She was joined on stage by her sister, Martha, for When you Believe. Will Callan gave a great performance of Empty Chairs at Empty Tables from Les Mis and Milan Van Waardenburg sang Some Enchanted Evening from South Pacific. Post interval, Lucy performed songs from her forthcoming musical , Rosie, including: Gentle Breeze; Suddenly; and Broken Dreams. She was joined by Will Callan for a poignant rendition of Above the Clouds and by all of her guests for We can Change the World. As other have said, Lucy deservedly received about 8 standing ovations during and, of course, at the end of her concert. A great evening and another step for Lucy towards international stardom!
Hi Lauren Glad to see a new reaction to Lucy. She sang this song with 22 others in her London concert Last week .She received 8 standing ovations. She was given a 5 star review by the British musical press in fact the critic who wrote the review said this of Lucy."Now and again, maybe only a handful of times in a lifetime, you hear a voice so pure, so effortlessly beautiful and powerful when it needs to be, it gives you goosebumps, grabs your heart and so blows you away that the world suddenly feels a better place. The voice is so rich and lush with a lovely timbre to the lower register that some of us would be happy listening to her singing the telephone directory. Not once did she struggle with a note or force it. This young lady would be an asset to any West End musical and it’s just a question of which way she wants to go".Lucy is in fact starring in a new musical written for her opening in the Uk Next year. Thanks for supporting Lucy and please pick any of her songs to react to there are 60 on her TH-cam channel" Lucy Thomas Music"
In my opinion it's been an honor to see & hear a super star being created. I've got 80 plus years of music enjoyment & lucy has renewed my confidence in the younger generation to keep new sounds around for years to come. Thank you lucy for sharing your gift.❤❤
Lauren, thank you for reacting to Lucy Thomas as she sings with passion and emotion this terribly sad song from Les Miserables. Lucy’s performance is amazing but it was even better when she performed it live at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London ‘s West End where she was phenomenal. I believe Lucy to be the world’s best singer. Please react to Lucy more.
Thank you for your reaction. Lucy draws you into the story of the song and it feels like she is singing only to you. I am sure that everyone in Theatre Royal Druy can relate to that. I go to support And lift up Lucy. But it is Lucy who lifts me. Lucy is phenomenal in body, mind, and soul. Just love that girl❤️.The world needs her.❤️
Hi Lauren...Thanks for this Lucy reaction. I am always interested in what you have to say about this very talented young woman. I just love how Lucy is able express the emotion that is necessary for this beautiful song to be effective. Her beautiful voice has brought me comfort and healing during a rough time with health problems that have challenged me over the last 3 years. To me, Lucy is no mere mortal. She is an angel.
Just to add to Colin’s wonderful comment, that same reviewer stated that Lucy will be a national treasure and international star! Thank you for your reaction and for following Lucy!
Every generation has its own “best of the best” singers….each uniquely beautiful and mesmerizing! We are blessed to be part of this generation of singers and musicians!
Behind every great singer, there is an equally great mentor. I have to commend Chris Broom for his guidance of his prodigy Lucy Thomas. His musical Rosie, was conceived when he saw and heard this young thirteen gear ol Lucy sing on a talent show. His patience in introducing Lucy to the world through TH-cam is admirable, no rushing her forward - no money making opertunities but slowly and surely people are now taking notice of this once in a lifetime phenomenon. Her latest concert was a remarkable success with five star reweiws. Her status is gathering momentum and with Rosie the musical opening in the new year, sky's the limit. Lucy and Chris Broom deserve everything that's coming in the future!
Great analysis Lauren to in my opinion one of the best female singers in the world today. Lucy has the ability to sing virtually any style of music flawlessly, and her musical choices are impeccable. She also has some angelic duets with her 5 years and 8 months younger sister Martha that you should definitely react to. Try "Mary Did You Know?" It's amazing.
Thanks Lauren for the nice reaction. The more you react to the more you'll love her. You can't go wrong with any of her ~70 performances. About 10 of them are duets with her highly talented 5y,8mo younger sister Martha. All gems. Early ones from Lucy are a.o. "Listen" and "She used to be mine" both @14y or "Run" (snow patrol) @10y. Look in "lucy thomas music" for her latest. Enjoy
Lucy never oversings anything,it's all about putting the song over in the right way!,though always with Lucy's vocals shining through!,picking up on your first video of Lucy singing Hallelujah you mention that you thought it was a couple of years ago,it was in fact from 4 yrs ago when Lucy was 16!,apart from 50 odd million views on u-tube it has over a billion listens on Tik Tok!,also she had 8 standing ovations during her recent concert at the Theatre Royal Drury lane,I believe the most there has ever been for a performance there!.
As a Lucy fan I really believe that she is the model for vocal technique. I would encourage you to really dig in and take Lucy's performance apart. We as Lucy fans come to reactors like you to explain what she is doing that makes us feel the emotions 😢 she always manages to make us feel or get validation that her performance was really as good as we thought it was.
Hello Lauren, " I Dreamed A Dream " by Lucy Thomas, all I can say is when Lucy sings this song I just get goosebumps, her voice is just so beautiful, Lucy has just had a live concert at the Drury Lane Theatre in London on the 22/10/2024. The critics who gave the reviews for this concert were so overwhelmed by Lucy & the cast, they gave her a 5 Star Review, Lucy had 8 standing ovations at the show which is a record & they say she is going to be the next big star in Musical Theatre she is that good. Take care, Barbara.
@@henkhessel3651 Hello Henk, I could not go but I believe she was just out of this world, the theatre critics gave her an amazing review, 5 stars, yesterday she was on BBC Manchester for over 2 hours she will be singing on the BBC's Children in need radio show on the 9th Nov. Take care, Barbara.
@@barbaracallister8138 She was. Sorry you couldn't be there. Saw the great review. Made me smile about comment on "She used to be mine". Apparently he did not see her at 14y. She already showed perfect empathy there. Hope she soon comes near your place. Take care, Henk.
Lauren, I am a very enthusiastic fan of Lucy. I first heard her rendition of Memory (Cats). Her vibrato is master class. Several reactors say it's probably the best. In this one, that last phrase was sad but fantastic. The long, the matchless vibrato and you actually heard the last syllable "ed" before the soft end. Lucy is one of the best I've heard and I've been in music since 1950. Checkout: "Memory", "Evergreen" and "Unchained Melody" for other beautiful renditions. (They are all on her channel Lucy Thomas Music).
To hear Lucy live on stage I flew to London in October and it was the best journey ever! First time hearing her on you tube and my biggest desire was to go for a concert of Lucy. Every cent was worth to do this! It was a dream! Greetings from 🇩🇪
I greatly appreciate your thorought reactions, particularly Lucy Thomas. You may want to try some of her duets with her sister Martha going back to when Martha was much younger right up to their most recent cover of SILENT NIGHT - which shows Martha's real jump to Lucy's level. Keep up the good work.
Lucyna is first and foremost a musically educated person, she reads and sings her own songs, there are songs that she sings completely from scratch, she is a 21-year-old who has an amazing female vocal range and has proven that we have a female countertenor that fits the tenors.
Great reaction Lauren! This was another stunning performance! Lucy has the most beautiful voice in the world. Lucy's voice makes me tremble with emotion like no other singer. Please do not hesitate to play and react to some of Lucy's earlier performances at ages 14, and 15. They often get overlooked, even by the greatest reactors like you. You wouldn't be making this comment if you had seen her singing live in concert - she IS pitch perfect with every song she sings and her live performances are, if anything, better than the studio videos!
@michaelhingley4770 if you listen to her sing, her videos, monitor the vocals in pitch monitor software and her voice snaps to a 440A-A frequency. This is not how singers sounded before 2005
@mcnairdn So what point are you trying to make? The modern form of digital pitch correction has actually been around since 1995 and nearly all studio videos since have been subject to auto or manual selective pitch correction! Perhaps you are one of the few moralistic King Canutes who have been trying to halt the incoming tide represented by record labels out to increase profits by polishing up less than perfect vocals? If so, I think you are fighting a losing battle, but, more importantly, have chosen the wrong target in Lucy Thomas to make your point! 😔
@michaelhingley4770 I think she sounds better without the pitch correction. We are being led to believe it is the artist real sound, but it sounds wrong. Artist in 70 and 80s sounded great without it. It's li,e society believing that all woman should be size 0. Not reality
@@mcnairdn Maybe to your finely tuned ear, but not to mine with Lucy. I think you are being pedantic and still don't understand what point you are trying to make?
It's all matter of opinion and people who support Lucy will of course disagree with you. However Lucy's technique can not be faulted having been classically trained and her range, tone, breath control and her ability to portray the emotion of the piece she performs, is second to none. This twenty year old prodigy is just starting to ramp up her popularity and on the road to world recognition.
