I have seen a lot of comments about the reality of this type of story. As a retired Lieutenant Colonel who has experienced racism IN and OUT of the military - this is real. I have been stationed near military bases where you were briefed about the additional safety and racism concerns. It’s a shame to be of Service to your Country and still have to receive a briefing that you Uniform and the Color of your skin still subjected you to criticism!! How easily we forget about the LT being stopped for tag - at a gas station- pepper spray, etc., etc.
You are so right we all should get along with each other no matter what color they are and may god bless them all in this story
