      @@proknifesharpening Yeah for sure. It's too much work without power tools. If you're making furnitures just for yourself may be investing in an array of tools would seem a bit wasteful, but as a profession, it's just not gonna work in this day and age. I'd argue you probably can get very close to preciseness with sanding, but the time difference is just ridiculous.

    I don’t understand out of how many of these shorts I’ve watched, you still are pulling out more ways/patterns to make these joints😱👍🏼. Love the content man keep it up! I can tell you definitely worked hard to get where you are and never lacking quality, and also after I’m sure years of building your workshop you appreciate the effort that went into it by keeping it looking so clean. Some people would say you don’t actually do any work because of how clean your shop is, but I see someone who truly appreciates what he has. Makes me realize I need to better take care of my stuff, even if it isn’t the nicest stuff out there!👏🏼👍🏼

      What is that?

    • @stumpbumpers
      @stumpbumpers ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Chisel mortise. It’s a square chisel with a drill bit in the center. As you pull down the drill bit removes a large portion at the center and by pulling down the chisel is able to clean up the corners. They’ve been around for as long as square mortises have been used.

    • @alexistaylor969
      @alexistaylor969 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@stumpbumpers Not really, square mortise predate them by over a thousand years, it is why the regular flat wood working chisel even exists, to square up the hole and flatten the edge.

    • @stumpbumpers
      @stumpbumpers 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@alexistaylor969 It was a loose statement, not a factual claim. A chisel mortise was used at the same time, just not with a drill bit, if you just want to argue about something.
